Now reading: Chapter 81: Yun Feng, Guarding the Pagoda from How to Bring Common Sense to Xianxia World, a Eastern novel by RavenClaw471.

Yun Feng looked defiantly at the man in blue. With his only remaining left arm, he took out a large black sword and firmly pierced it into the ground without uttering a single word.

"Arrogant! Soone, teach him a lesson!" The young master waved his hand, signaling his henchn to move forward. This ti, instead of a group of Foundation Establishnt cultivators, a man at the Core Formation Realm stepped out.

"Hmph!" Yun Feng snorted as his left arm, which clutched the sword handle, twitched.

Fwip!

With a flick of the blade, a clear line was drawn across the ground.

"Step past this line and your life will be forfeit!" Yun Feng said solemnly.

But when the henchn saw the line, they all burst into laughter. The sound echoed across the area as if Yun Feng were nothing more than a clown.

"Hahahaha! This trash is really funny..." The young master laughed before turning toward the henchman who had stepped forward. "Kill him!"

As if receiving a heavenly decree, the henchman rushed forward with an axe in hand. This man had once been a bandit leader who had killed thousands. His axe techniques were fierce and difficult to read. His moniker was Demon Axe Zhang Long.

"I will kill you before you can even blink!" Zhang Long shouted domineeringly as he brandished his twin axes.

But the mont he stepped past the line—

Whoosh.

His vision suddenly spun and rose unnaturally high. One mont he saw the sky, and the next he saw the ground. Then, on the ground, he saw his own headless body rushing toward the so-called trash before slowly collapsing.

"Eh...?" Zhang Long muttered in confusion. It was the last trace of his consciousness before everything fell into darkness.

Yun Feng slowly returned his sword to its resting position, as if nothing had happened. The blade had already severed the head of the man who dared to cross the line.

"Who’s next?" Yun Feng shouted, as if questioning the heavens themselves.

Both the onlookers and the young master’s remaining henchn were stunned by Yun Feng’s overwhelming display of dominance.

"You are courting death! Everyone, kill him!" the young master roared in rage.

All the henchn gritted their teeth. They all knew that this cripple with only one arm was rely at the Half-Step Core Formation Realm. He should have been weaker than them, whether in physique or cultivation.

With only one arm, his balance should have been completely off. Yet sohow, he wielded the massive blade as if it were nothing more than a twig.

Roar!

With a furious shout, the henchn brandished their weapons. Swords, axes, hamrs, spears, and various other weapons were pulled from their storage rings.

Nine of them charged at Yun Feng from all directions, but Yun Feng did not place them in his eyes at all.

Taking a single step forward, Yun Feng swung the large black blade. In two swift motions, he decapitated two of the nine henchn. One was severed from the torso upward, while the other was split in half from top to bottom.

The bloody scene terrified the remaining henchn, but the young master’s order was absolute. They could no longer retreat. All they could do was fight desperately to prolong their lives.

The battle erupted. Although many of the henchn had higher cultivation than Yun Feng, they gradually gained so ground, even though several lives were sacrificed in the process.

Two more henchn gave their lives to create an opening. Yun Feng now found himself in the center of a battle formation ford by the remaining five henchn.

This battle formation was not a high-level formation like the one Wei Chen had faced before. Its function was simply to restrict the enemy while enhancing the power of those within it.

Yun Feng could only remain on the defensive as waves of blades, spears, and swords assaulted him while the formation shifted constantly around him.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

The rapid sound of tal colliding rang out as sparks flew with every clash. Even though Yun Feng was strong enough to fight across an entire realm, he was now trapped within the formation.

"These annoying bastards," Yun Feng muttered in annoyance as he blocked two blades that ca at him from behind.

However, this was all within his calculations. He had deliberately left openings to lure his enemies into attacking.

A wicked smile appeared on Yun Feng’s face as he twisted his body to the side. Thanks to the absence of his right arm, this movent was possible. Otherwise, the attack aid at his right side would have struck him directly.

Yun Feng moved through the sea of blades like a phantom, and his large black blade descended.

Boom! Splash!

With a single devastating strike, two of the henchn were reduced to minced flesh. Blood, bones, and shattered organs splattered across the area, disrupting the battle formation.

Seizing this opportunity, Yun Feng channeled all of his remaining power into the black blade and slashed once more.

Blade qi tore through the remaining henchn surrounding him. They were stunned and unable to react before their bodies were severed.

Blood splattered as the three bodies fell to the ground, all of them cut cleanly at the torso.

Thud!

The large black blade pierced into the ground. Yun Feng stood there, exhausted. He had expended all of his spiritual qi in the battle. Even though he could fight across realms, his spiritual qi reserves were only equal to those of a normal Half-Step Core Formation cultivator.

He was not like Wei Chen, a monster who had a black hole as the core of his cultivation. The spiritual qi pool Wei Chen possessed was several hundred tis greater than the average spiritual qi pool of other cultivators.

The young master observing from above on his flying sword smirked. This was all within his calculations. This cripple was indeed formidable, and his cultivation thod was clearly of a very high level. If he could obtain the secret of this cripple’s cultivation thod, his future prospects would be greatly enhanced.

At this mont, one of his entourage mbers, who was standing on a flying sword beside him, floated closer and cupped his fist.

"Congratulations, Young Master Song!" the lackey began his usual flattery.

This young master’s na was Song Lei. He was the heir of the Song Clan, loyalists of the Vermilion Bird Dynasty. His clan was an ancient lineage that existed even before the Vermilion Bird Dynasty rose to the throne.

When it ca to strength, his clan ranked third, just behind the Xin Clan.

"Oh? Why are you congratulating ?" Young Master Song asked, fully aware that this was the usual flattery session. He knew it was mostly nonsense, but it was pleasant to hear, so he did not mind indulging in this verbal sweetness.

"It is because of your virtue, Young Master Song! This ti, you have encountered a divine artifact like this black pagoda!" The lackey gestured exaggeratedly toward the pagoda and continued.

"You are also about to get your hands on a high-level cultivation thod currently held by soone unworthy!" the lackey added in a flattering tone.

"You speak the truth. Divine treasures should only be in the hands of the virtuous!" another lackey in the entourage chid in.

"Hahahaha!" Young Master Song laughed loudly. Then he slowly turned his gaze toward Yun Feng, who was only able to remain standing through sheer willpower.

"Listen to , trash! Cripple yourself, kowtow, and hand over your cultivation thod to , and I will consider letting you off!" Young Master Song declared.

"Heh!" Yun Feng sneered. "If you are so great, why don’t you co down and fight ? What, are you afraid of a one-ard man?" Yun Feng tried to provoke the young master.

He had already channeled his qi, reserving just enough for one full-power strike. If he could kill this young master in a single blow, he was confident that he could intimidate this group of malicious people to retreat.

Hearing soone he looked down upon speak so provocatively to him, Young Master Song felt a strange surge of anger erupt from his heart. He had never felt such anger before.

"Hmph! As you wish!"

With a single step, Young Master Song vanished from atop the flying sword and rushed toward Yun Feng with a palm strike.

So fast!

Yun Feng was alard. He quickly tilted his large black sword to guard against Young Master Song’s palm strike.

Clank!

The power of the palm strike sent Yun Feng sliding back several ters before he stabilized himself and brandished his sword forward, the blade pointed directly at Young Master Song.

Cough! Pfftt!

The backlash from the palm strike caused Yun Feng to cough up blood, but he only smiled defiantly at Young Master Song.

Seeing this, Young Master Song sneered. "Like a cockroach. The more lowly you are, the harder you are to kill."

With that, Young Master Song charged forward once again. His palm strike was infused with powerful qi. He intended to cripple this trash first, then slowly force the secret out of him.
