Not knowing who the other person was, Vera Wave asked politely, "Excuse ... who might you be?!"
"HUMPH!" The girl snorted contemptuously. Strutting over in her high heels, she pointed a finger at Vera’s nose. "Let tell you, pack your things and get out right now! Don’t make go to the trouble of firing you!"
Given the girl’s imdiate hostility, Vera naturally didn’t give her a pleasant look.
"I am the president’s personal assistant. Only he can fire ; you don’t have that authority. The president isn’t here right now. If you need to see him, please co back another day. This office doesn’t allow unauthorized personnel to enter and exit freely. I’d appreciate it if you would... leave!"
The terrace she had just finished cleaning was a complete ss thanks to this girl, not to ntion how she was feeding the fish! Vera had just changed the water and cleaned the fishpond that morning.
Normally, the fish only needed to be fed twice a week. This girl, dumping in half a bag at once—she was going to kill them all!
The girl lifted her chin, crossed her arms, and said arrogantly, "Do you know who I am?!"
"I don’t care who your mother is!" Vera retorted. Turning, she grabbed a small net and bent down to scoop the fish food out of the water. She couldn’t let the fish her father had left behind die at this girl’s hands.
"You?!" The girl stomped her foot angrily and snapped, "I’ll say it one more ti: get out of here within ten minutes!"
Vera couldn’t be bothered to argue with her further. She just bent down, concentrating on scooping the fish food from the water.
Vera’s attitude clearly provoked the girl. Taking a step forward, she shoved Vera hard.
Vera hadn’t expected her to resort to violence. She lost her balance, swayed, and fell sideways into the fishpond.
The fishpond wasn’t very deep, only about forty to fifty centiters. Nevertheless, her clothes were soaked through with cold water.
"HUMPH!" Watching Vera fall into the water, the girl smirked with satisfaction. "How dare you defy ? You were asking for it!"
Vera straightened up in the water. She looked up, her eyes blazing with anger at the girl.
"Just who are you?!"
eting Vera’s gaze, a flicker of guilt crossed the girl’s eyes, but it vanished a mont later as she regained her nonchalant expression.
"I don’t hide who I am. Listen carefully: my na is Ria Chapman. My father is Jason Chapman, a shareholder of Glimr. Brother Kris and I have known each other since we were children. If you know what’s good for you, get out now, or I’ll call security!"
So, she was the daughter of a Glimr shareholder. No wonder she’s so arrogant.
Vera wiped the water from her right cheek and climbed out of the fishpond, saying nothing more.
She was, after all, just Kris Cooper’s bedmate. He would never offend a Glimr shareholder for her sake. Vera was acutely aware of this. Confronting this girl now wouldn’t benefit her in any way.
However, she etched the na Ria Chapman into her mory.
Revenge is a dish best served cold. When her fortunes turned, she would definitely avenge this watery humiliation.
Seeing Vera’s subdued reaction, Ria Chapman assud she was scared, and her expression grew even more arrogant.
Stepping forward to block Vera’s path, she reached out and patted Vera’s cheek mockingly.
"Don’t think you’re still Miss Wave, the esteed young lady of the Wave Clan. If there’s anyone to bla, it’s your idiotic father. Blowing a fortune of billions to end up a pauper—his intellect is truly unparalleled..." Before Ria could finish her taunt, Vera’s hand shot out and grabbed her hair. Ria Chapman shrieked in pain, "AH! You bitch, let go of !"
