"Nathan Leafcastle?!" Kris Cooper repeated the na, "He was Nathan Leafcastle all along!"
Vera Wave looked puzzled, "Do you know him?"
"I’ve heard of him."
Back in Arica, the little girl often excitedly talked about her "Brother Nathan," deliberately trying to make him jealous.
Kris Cooper had never seen him but had heard Vera speak of many childhood mories they shared.
Unexpectedly, they still kept in touch.
As Kris Cooper silently mulled things over, Vera had already turned with a slightly exploratory look, gazing at the man with a mischievous smile, and spoke earnestly.
"Kris Cooper, do you like ?!"

Kris Cooper shook his head.
"I don’t like you."
"Stop it, if you didn’t like , why would you give a hundred million, why treat so well... Look how you asked about Nathan Leafcastle, clearly you were jealous, it wasn’t because of Ria Chapman. The way you got so angry, wasn’t it because of Nathan Leafcastle?!"
A hundred million!
Vera Wave never thought her tiny self was worth that much money!
Actually, Vera had already considered this possibility a long ti ago, but she never dared to believe it. After all, he’d only known her for a few days, which seed illogical.
The car stopped at a red light, Kris Cooper took a deep breath.

The phone slipped from her hand, landing on Vera Wave’s toes, yet she ignored the pain, only turning her face in shock to look at the man beside her.

"Are you nuts!" As soon as she said it, Vera regretted, "No, I an... we’ve only known each other for a week, this... this doesn’t make sense!"
Kris Cooper turned his face, reached over with his right hand to hold her face, his fingers gently stroking her cheek.
"Love isn’t scientific."
If such matters could be explained by science, how could he have not forgotten her after all these years?
Staring into the man’s eyes, Vera Wave remained silent, unsure of what to say, her chest inexplicably feeling a slight discomfort, she raised her hand to press against her chest.
"But... I still can’t figure it out, you didn’t fall in love with at first sight, and besides, I... don’t look that stunning?!"
A car horn sounded from behind, Kris Cooper withdrew his hand, restarted the car, passed the green light, drove onto the main road, and into Akriel Hospital’s entrance, stopping the car under the outpatient building.
"I’ll give you an explanation, but not now. First, co with for a thorough check-up."
Unbuckling the seatbelt, he got out, took out his phone, and dialed his good friend Andre Colin’s number.
"We’re here. She just took a fall, bumped her forehead, and I want to get her thoroughly checked."
On the other end, Dean Andre’s voice remained calm and steady while attending a eting.
"First go to the ergency surgery departnt, I’ll arrange for soone to et you, after all tests are done, co to the seventh floor, I’ll head over after the eting."
"Okay." Kris Cooper hung up, reached to take Vera Wave’s hand, and led her into the ergency building.
As soon as they entered, a young nurse approached them, "You must be Mr. Cooper and Miss Wave? Please follow !"
Vera Wave’s eyes showed surprise, she couldn’t help but inquire out of curiosity, "Is your friend a doctor? He seems to be very respected in the hospital!"
Soone pouted, "What respect, just the dean’s formidable influence at most!"
