Taking a deep breath, Vera Wave walked over to Maggie Clarke and spoke courteously.
"Miss Clarke, we’re running out of ti. Could you speed things up, please?"
Maggie Clarke frowned at the unexpected person who had appeared in her photo. Lowering her phone, she turned and looked Vera up and down. "Who are you?"
"Hello, Miss Clarke. I’m Vera Wave from Ashton’s Advertising Departnt." Vera smiled and extended her hand. "I’ll be in charge of your photo shoot today. I look forward to working with you!"
Maggie Clarke shifted her gaze back to her phone, picked up her coffee cup, and continued to preen and strike poses. "Why isn’t Director Lin here?"
"Director Lin had an unexpected eting." Vera withdrew her ignored hand. "Miss Clarke, it’s almost ten o’clock. Please start on your makeup imdiately. We need to send the photos to post-production by noon, or we won’t be able to print tomorrow’s promotional brochures!"
Maggie Clarke lifted the coffee to her lips and spoke to her assistant, "Shoot from this angle. Rember to get my left side, a high-angle shot. That way, my face will look smaller..."
Alright then, was this woman completely ignoring her?
As the assistant reached out to take the phone, Vera stepped forward, positioning herself between the phone and Maggie Clarke.
"Miss Clarke, if you didn’t hear clearly, I can repeat it. Please start your makeup now!"
Her tone had hardened on the last sentence.
So what if she’s a star? A star should still have professionalism. Since she’s here to work, she needs to show so work attitude.
How dare a low-level employee take such an attitude with her?
Maggie Clarke lazily sipped her coffee. "Then let tell you, I’ll have breakfast first, then apply a face mask and do my skincare routine. After that, I’ll do my makeup. You can trouble yourself to co back and remind in an hour!"
After speaking, she lazily resud sipping her coffee, waiting for Vera to plead with her.
Maggie Clarke was keenly aware of how crucial tomorrow’s property launch was. If she didn’t cooperate, the photos wouldn’t get taken. It was precisely because she felt she had them over a barrel that she dared to put on such airs.
Vera’s expression turned cold. "Miss Clarke, could you please show a little professional courtesy?"
Maggie Clarke scoffed, "This is my attitude. You have a problem with that?"
Vera was so incensed that she actually laughed, then spoke through her laughter.
"I have no objections at all. You can continue taking selfies here; I absolutely won’t rush you again. However, I must remind you, Miss Clarke, that if we don’t get satisfactory photos by twelve o’clock, we have the right to hold you liable for breach of contract. This property launches tomorrow. Without the promotional brochures, the company’s sales will suffer, and our financial losses will be incalculable. You’d best contact your lawyer to see how much compensation you’ll owe us. Her father had taught her long ago that people tend to bully the weak and fear the strong; the softer you were, the more they would push. When encountering soone like Maggie Clarke, you had to be even tougher than them.
Saying this, she straightened up and turned to the nearby coffee shop staff.
"Don’t forget to charge Miss Clarke for her breakfast; it’s not included in the advertising paynt!"
Maggie Clarke shot to her feet.
"You... What kind of attitude is that?!"
Having arrived early to find no one there to greet her, Maggie Clarke, who had recently shot to fa, was thoroughly annoyed. That’s why she had deliberately decided to make an issue of things. She also figured she could bully Vera, a junior employee, by putting on airs and making things difficult for her.
Who would have thought this woman would turn out to be even tougher than she was, montarily putting Maggie herself in an awkward bind.
