"Vera, are you coming?!"
The other three were already prepared, seeing Vera still zoning out, they quickly called her.
"Oh, coming!"
Vera gathered her emotions, grabbed her bag, and caught up to the others.
The four of them went downstairs together to a nearby restaurant to enjoy hot pot. The other three were chatting excitedly while eating, but only Vera appeared disinterested.
Wang Xiaoya raised her head from her bowl and noticed Vera’s deanor, asking curiously, "Vera, why aren’t you eating? Is it... you don’t like at?"
"No, no, it’s just that I’m not very hungry yet!" Vera picked up a drink cup, "Co on... Thanks to everyone’s help, I was able to secure this project. Thank you all."
"It’s because of you that we had this opportunity. We should be thanking you instead."
"Yeah, Vera, we should toast to you!"

"Since we’re a team, let’s not be so formal." Vera raised her glass, "Co on, let’s toast to our ’Dream Team’!"
The four glasses clinked together, making a crisp sound.
Everyone took a sip of their drinks and continued eating, naturally talking about the project again.
rlin Bradley once again voiced her concern for Vera, "Honestly, I’m really puzzled. What’s up with the CEO? Vera’s proposal is so excellent, and yet he doesn’t approve?"
Ruben Campbell shrugged his shoulders, "How can we ever figure out what’s on the mind of such bigwigs?"
"From what I see, he seed to be in a bad mood," Wang Xiaoya said, "I saw an interview he did over the phone, and he seed to enjoy laughing. But look at today’s eting, not a single smile on his face."

They went on to talk about many other things, company gossip, project planning...
Yet Vera, as if the conversations were just breeze passing by, didn’t catch a single word, with her mind just replaying Kris Cooper’s blank expression.
Yes, that person always loved to smile, but this ti he was really angry, and probably won’t pay any attention to her in the future.
Originally, this was what she had been hoping for. But why was her heart aching so badly now?
Back at the company, continuing work, as soon as Vera stepped into the office, Kate Palr’s assistant walked in to notify her to go to Kate’s office.
Vera hurriedly obeyed and followed her to Kate’s office.
Kate was as busy as ever, gesturing for her to sit down while taking a call.
After a mont, she put down the phone.
"Vera, first, congratulations on landing this project. But... I must remind you, this is just the first step of a long journey. What we need to do next is crucial," She leaned back in her chair, looking seriously at Vera, "Vera, I admire your talent and drive, don’t let down!"
Vera nodded solemnly, "I will give it my all!"
"NO!" Kate shook her head, "I don’t want you to just give it your all; I want an advertising campaign that satisfies , do you understand?"
Vera took a deep breath, "I promise I will accomplish it."
Only then did Kate smile, "Very good. Go to the finance departnt tomorrow morning to collect the funds, and you can start officially, good luck!"
"Thank you, Director." Vera expressed her thanks, then turned to leave.
"Oh, Vera!" Kate called her once more, "Don’t let the CEO’s reaction put any pressure on you. If he didn’t like your proposal, you wouldn’t have had even a sliver of a chance of winning."
Vera nodded, then stepped out of her office.
