Arranging the resu in her hand, Vera Wave looked herself up and down again, made sure there was nothing inappropriate, and then raised her hand.
CLICK!
Before she could knock, the door was pulled open from the inside, and a female staff mber in her thirties appeared before Vera.
"Hello!" Vera quickly smiled. "Excuse , I’m here for an interview at the Publicity Departnt. Is this the right office?"
The female staff mber looked her up and down. "Co in."
"Thank you!" Vera followed the woman into the office and closed the door behind her.
Not far away, Kris Cooper slightly raised his eyebrows.
So, she’s here for an interview, he thought. How strange. Why would she apply to the Publicity Departnt? As far as he knew, the company’s Publicity Departnt was a small division under the Administration Departnt. It usually handled so internal promotions related to corporate culture and didn’t involve any particularly valuable work. He had actually planned to eliminate this departnt and rge its tasks into the Administration Departnt.
Raising his eyebrows, he strode over and quietly pressed his ear against the door panel.
Inside the room, Vera politely placed her resu before the woman, her gaze scanning the badge on the woman’s chest.
The badge clearly read: Administration Publicity Departnt, Sabella Edwards.
There was no job title written below the na. Vera pondered for a mont and then, smiling sweetly, she spoke.
"Manager Edwards, this is my resu. I was wondering, what kinds of positions are you looking to fill in this departnt?"
Being called Manager Edwards made Sabella feel quite pleased. After all, she was the only one in the Publicity Departnt, so she supposed that made her a manager, right?
"This position? Well, we don’t have specific roles defined at the mont. I just need an assistant. If you join, you can be my direct deputy," she said, flipping through the papers in her hand. "You only have an associate degree?"
"Yes."
"And... you haven’t graduated yet?"
"That’s right, it’s my final year—my internship period." Vera knew her educational qualifications weren’t high, so she tried her best to appear compliant. "But please rest assured, I do have work experience, and I’m a very hard worker. If you hire , I’ll definitely give it my all and won’t disappoint you."
Actually, Sabella didn’t have much in the way of serious work. The Administration Departnt always handed her the dirtiest and most tiring tasks. She was simply too swamped to handle it all, which was why she had applied to hire an assistant.
Seeing that Vera was young and seed inexperienced, Sabella thought, This little girl will surely be obedient and easy to manage. And so, she smiled.
Sabella had never held any real power. Although she very much wanted to hire Vera, she didn’t dare make the decision on her own.
"Alright, you seem quite intelligent. I’ll keep your resu here. We’ll review it, and then I’ll notify you."
Seeing a good chance for the job, Vera’s smile grew even sweeter. "Okay, thank you so much! My phone number is on the resu. You can call anyti; I keep my phone on 24/7."
"Alright, then you can go ho and wait for our news!" Sabella waved her off. Vera thanked her again, then turned and walked out of the office, heading joyfully towards the elevator. She imdiately took out her phone to call Isla Hawskin. "Isla, it’s Vera! The interview’s over. They told to wait for their decision, and I think it’s pretty much a sure thing!"
"That’s great! Then I’ll see you at the company."
"Okay."
Pressing the elevator button, Vera slipped her phone back into her pocket, already mulling over her prospects.
If this job application is successful, I’ll take so ti to collect my commission from Eden. A few thousand USD should be enough to tide over until I get my first paycheck here. Thinking about her livelihood being secured, her spirits lifted considerably.
