The alcohol was getting to her, and she was already feeling quite tipsy. She clung to his neck, nestling her face against it like a kitten and inhaling softly.
"Husband... you sll so good."
His face turned ashen from exasperation at her drunken behavior, yet he couldn’t help but feel a pang of helpless affection and concern for her.
Picking up her bag, Kris Cooper lifted her into his arms, placed her in the passenger seat, and fastened her seatbelt. He then settled into the driver’s seat and started the car.
Glancing at the drowsy young woman in the passenger seat, he raised an eyebrow and turned the car around.
He had initially arranged to et at the hotel, considering how exhausted she must be from filming.
But in this state, I’ll have to carry her upstairs. Won’t that expose her identity?
Instead of returning to the hotel, he drove her to a villa complex not far from the film studio. He parked outside a villa, unlocked the front door, then returned to the car to lift her out. He carried her to the master bedroom on the second floor.
Just as he laid her on the pillow, a wave of nausea hit her. Before Kris Cooper could fetch a trash can, she started vomiting.
She didn’t throw up much, but it was enough to soil his suit jacket, shirt, and even his pants.
Ignoring the ss on himself, he quickly grabbed tissues to help her wipe her mouth, then hurried to get water and a trash can so she could rinse. After the ordeal, Vera Wave finally collapsed back onto the pillow, exhausted.
After helping her clean her mouth, Kris Cooper tidied the floor and gently pulled the covers over her.
"You lie down for a bit. I’m going to change."
Reaching out, she grabbed his arm. She blinked, propped her cheek on her hand, and leaned close.
"Husband... did you miss ?"
A faint smile touched his lips.
"Yes."
She smiled contentedly, leaned in to press a wine-scented kiss to his cheek, then wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I’ll tell you a... secret. I... I missed you too! Hehe... Husband, I even dread about you last night."
The young woman’s drunken state was both adorable and amusing. Kris Cooper gently stroked her hair.
"What did you dream about ?"
"I’m not telling..." she mumbled, burrowing her face into his neck. "I... I’m shy..."
What could she have dreamt that makes her so shy?
"Husband, your skin is so smooth and cool..." Vera Wave rubbed her cheek gently against his neck, murmuring, "Pressing against you... feels so good..."
She was hot from the alcohol, while his skin felt cool and soothing. While his coolness helped to dispel her alcohol-induced flush, her innocent closeness and soft words began to stir a fire in Kris Cooper.
The faint, sweet scent emanating from her body further fueled his desire, and he couldn’t resist capturing her neck with his lips, nipping gently.
The young woman’s soft, kittenish moan further inflad him. He fought back the urge to take her then and there, gently disengaging her arms from around his neck.
"Wait for ; I’m going to take a shower."
His clothes were covered in her vomit, and there was no way he was getting into bed with her like that.
The young woman rolled over on the pillow. He then got up and walked into the bathroom. After removing his soiled clothes and taking a thorough shower, he returned to the bedside.
The young woman was curled up under the blanket, motionless.
"Vera?" he called softly, but she didn’t respond.
Bending down, he gently pushed back the blanket. Her long eyelashes lay still against her cheeks, her breathing soft and even. She had fallen asleep.
"You little rascal!" Kris Cooper muttered, looking at her sleeping face with a hint of chagrin. "Stirring up like that, only to fall asleep!"
He reached out, gently cradling her face, then leaned down, his lips drawing near hers.
