Irene Spencer stood there stiffly, not knowing what to say. After a while, she finally reacted.
"I didn’t expect you two knew each other. Truthfully, when it cos to acting, such things are unavoidable. And I didn’t really mind; I was just worried it might affect the photo shoot."
"She’s mine, don’t bother her."
This sentence was far from a negotiation, nor an apology—it was a declaration, with a hint of warning. Kris Cooper emphasized the word "don’t" particularly heavily.
In his eyes, any superstar or top-tier actor was nothing compared to his girl.
He didn’t care if Irene Spencer was pleased or not, wronged or not. The bottom line was—his girl, don’t provoke her, or he wouldn’t hesitate to turn on you.
Before Irene Spencer could react, Kris Cooper had already opened the door and strode out of the restroom.
It took a while for Irene Spencer to snap out of her daze.
Raising her foot, she furiously kicked at the door to vent her anger, but her foot struck the protective strip on it instead, making it throb with pain.
"Vera... I won’t let you off!"
Later that night, after successfully wrapping up the shooting for the night scenes, Vera went back to the hotel and had a good sleep. The next morning, Rowan Nichols heard she worked at Ashton, so he deliberately took a detour to drop her off at the Ashton Building. Vera thanked him and then happily humd a tune as she entered the Ashton Building.
Upon arriving at the Planning Departnt, she cheerfully greeted rlin Bradley and the others before walking into her own office.
rlin Bradley quickly followed her in, closed the door, and walked up to her with a look of concern.
"Vera, what did you do to upset Irene?"
"Nothing?" Vera turned around. "Why would I have upset her?"
"You don’t know?" rlin Bradley furrowed her brows and gave her a look. "Now Irene’s fans are going mad. They’re all clamoring to seek justice from you."
"They’re crazy! What did I do to them that they need to seek justice from ?"
rlin Bradley handed her phone to Vera.
"You’ve been frad."
With a puzzled look, Vera took the phone and saw a Facebook post that rlin Bradley had pulled up.
"On the set of ’Fla’, Irene got slapped 10 tis, tears in her eyes..."
There were two pictures below. In one of them, she had a cold expression and was fiercely slapping Irene Spencer’s face.
The picture below it was a close-up of Irene Spencer’s face; one side of it was red, and tear stains were clearly visible. She looked very aggrieved.
"That’s not right!" Vera was also surprised. "We were acting! Where did this picture co from?"
"How would I know? It must have been leaked by soone from your crew." rlin Bradley pondered for a mont. "Did you upset soone on set?"
"No!"
She always kept a low profile. She had only been there for a few days; how could she have possibly offended anyone?
Moreover, they were shooting a scene inside a room at the ti. To avoid continuity errors, the staff would voluntarily leave the set. An ordinary person wouldn’t have been able to get this angle unless the person taking the photo was inside the room.
Vera furrowed her brows, trying to recall the scene.
Who else was in the room at the ti? Besides her and Irene Spencer, there was no one else... No, that’s not right.
Narrowing her eyes, Vera rembered that her assistant, Anabel Wilton, had co in to bring an ice pack after she had accidentally hurt Irene Spencer on the first take. After that, Anabel had never left.
Could it be... that she took the photos?!
^^Have a great weekend, MWAH~!~
