She just stared with wide-open eyes, her face shining with tears.
He was startled and quickly held her shoulders.
"Why are you crying? Are you feeling unwell?"
Vera sniffed.
"Honey, I’m so scared... what if one day you don’t love anymore... what would I do?"
Feeling helpless yet heart aching, he quickly pulled over and reached over to wipe her tears.
"Silly girl, how could I not love you?"
"But what if!"
"There won’t be an ’if’!"
"Do you promise?"
"I promise!"
"Do you swear?"
"I swear!"
"But..." She tilted her little face, "I’m still scared."
She loved him so much that just thinking about possibly losing him made her heart ache.
Hugging her into his arms, Kris Cooper gently stroked her back.
"As soon as we get the single status certificate, we’ll imdiately register for marriage. I’ll transfer all my assets to your na. If I ever betray you, you can kick out. Does that sound okay?"
"No!" she sobbed, "I can’t bear to do that!"
"Little fool." He laughed, comforting her with kisses on her hair and forehead, "I understand how you feel, don’t be afraid. I’ll always be by your side and never leave... Even when we grow old, I’ll make sure to pass away after you do, so you won’t have to suffer alone."
"Honey." The little girl looked up at his face, "What do you love about ?"
She wondered, what virtue did she have, how was she worth all his love and affection?
Holding her little face with his big hands, the man remained silent for a long ti.
"I don’t know what it is I love about you; I just know there’s nothing about you that I don’t love."
God knows what it is that he loves about her.
Thinking back now, he just rembers that night when he first saw her, wearing a white princess dress, descending the stairs with a smile that could light up his entire life.
At that ti, she wasn’t the most beautiful or the most alluring. She still had a touch of youth on her face, not fully grown.
But it was her who made his heart race for the first ti in his life; afterwards, he could never forget her. Even though he was hurt all over by her, he couldn’t help being good to her.
After she left, he tried to let loose and forget her.
But no matter who he dated, even when he was drunk out of his mind, her smile still danced before his eyes, and he couldn’t get excited for any woman.
Who else could he love besides her?!

This little girl talked about worrying about losing him, but shouldn’t he be the one more afraid of losing her?

With his comforting, Vera had cald down.
"No need to rush." The little girl smiled up at him, "We still need your parents’ consent; I... I hope to get their blessing."
"Of course." He chuckled, kissing her forehead, "Co on, I’ll take you inside."
He got out of the car, ca around to open the door for her, and then went to the trunk to grab a box of socks. Vera quickly ran up the steps to ring the doorbell.
Aunt Feng opened the door, and he carried both the socks and Vera inside, placing the socks in the walk-in closet.
