After observing herself in the mirror for a few monts to ensure she looked her best, she exited the restroom and changed into the outfit she had brought.
The outfit was a coordinated set. The bottom was an embroidered denim skirt, and the top was a fashionable retro white off-the-shoulder blouse with intricate embroidery.
Vera Wave had a naturally sweet and youthful appearance. This type of outfit truly suited her temperant. Once she put it on, she looked just like a little princess.
This ensemble fell sowhere between formal and casual wear; it was neither too flashy nor too plain, making it just right for such a banquet.
"My mother-in-law really has a keen eye for fashion!"
Laughing, Vera Wave twirled in front of the mirror, tidied her hair, and then, satisfied, returned to her office, slinging her small bag over her shoulder before heading out.
Everyone in the office was packing up to leave. When they saw Vera Wave co out, a few of the girls imdiately let out admiring gasps.
"Vera, your outfit is so beautiful!"
"I’ve seen this one! A model wore it at a fashion show a while back. It suits you so well, Vera!"
"Stop flattering , or I might get arrogant!" Vera Wave waved to the group. "Well, I’m off now!"
She walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.
Exiting the elevator while still in the lobby, she imdiately spotted Kris Cooper’s car parked by the entrance. She quickly quickened her steps toward it.
Kris Cooper had already seen her. He turned and opened the car door for her.
"Little princess, please get in!"
"Thank you!" Vera Wave slid into her seat and turned to him. "Honey, how do I look today?"
"Amazing, absolutely amazing!" Kris Cooper fastened her seatbelt for her and adjusted its tension. "If it weren’t for the fact that you’re the second female lead, I’d want to turn around and go straight ho right now."
"Why?"
"For you!"
"?!"
"Yes!"
She arched her brows, and before she could fully process his insinuation, she angrily swung her small bag at him.
"You big pervert!"
"Don’t hit , don’t hit ! I’m driving. Tonight, when we get ho, you can ss with however you want."
"In your dreams!"
The two chatted and laughed all the way, and the journey, which wasn’t far to begin with, was over in monts.
After parking the car, Kris Cooper led her to the elevator and reminded her seriously.
"Although this is an internal company banquet, for publicity, so photos will still be taken and circulated. So, you need to be a little careful."
"Careful about what?"
Kris Cooper leaned against the elevator wall. "Don’t get too close to the male lead, to avoid being photographed together by others."
Vera Wave smirked. "But I promised rlin Bradley I’d help her get an autograph. Besides, Logan Miles is so handso, and it’s rare to see him up close..."
"AHEM!" Kris Cooper coughed lightly. "If you don’t want to go to work tomorrow, just say so. Your husband will thoroughly satisfy you!"
This sentence was an outright threat.
That little brat! How dare she say another man is handso? Is he more handso than ?
"HEHE!" She imdiately snuggled up to his arm appeasingly. "I was just kidding! Of all the n in the world, apart from *that* person, no one is more handso than you!"
That person?
The man turned his face in confusion.
"That person?"
"Do you want to see? I have his picture." Vera Wave opened her small handbag, took out her wallet, and waved it at him. As Kris Cooper reached out to snatch it, she pulled her hand back, hiding the wallet behind her. "Call ’Big Sis,’ and I’ll show you!"
"Give it to ."
"No!"
The man leaned forward, his face close to hers, as if he were about to kiss her.
"If you don’t mind your pretty lipstick getting smudged by , then go ahead and don’t give it to !"
