Last ti, because of Irene Spencer, there had been such a huge misunderstanding between Vera Wave and Kris Cooper. She just couldn’t swallow this indignity.
This ti, she deliberately brought up the matter, just to annoy her.
At these words, Irene Spencer’s hand, which was holding the door handle, stiffened. The doorknob, previously pressed down, suddenly sprang back, pinching the flesh in her palm.
Irene Spencer quickly withdrew her hand from the pain, turning her face to look at Vera Wave on the hospital bed in astonishnt.
"You... you an six years ago?"

Irene Spencer’s intense reaction surprised Vera Wave sowhat. Assuming Irene found it unbelievable, Vera Wave’s lips curled into a smirk.
"That’s right! When I t Kris Cooper, you didn’t even know who he was!"
As she spoke, her gaze fell on Irene Spencer’s face.

Gazing at Irene Spencer, Vera Wave was struck by a strange sense of familiarity with the woman before her.
Feeling herself being stared at, Irene Spencer coughed lightly and raised her hand to smooth her hair.
"I’m leaving now!"
With that, she quickly pulled open the door and walked out of the ward, hurrying towards the ergency exit.
"Miss Spencer!"
Two assistants quickly followed, flanking her on either side as they hurried after her. One of them called the driver to bring the car to the entrance.
By the ti the three of them reached the main entrance, the driver had already pulled the car up.
Normally, Irene Spencer would wait for an assistant to open the car door for her. Today, however, she acted out of character, pulling open the door herself and getting in. Once settled in her seat, she imdiately glanced towards the ergency exit.
It was as if she was afraid soone might chase after her.
As soon as the two assistants were in the car, she spoke impatiently.
"Drive!"
"Miss Spencer?" The assistant in the front seat turned, looking at her with concern. "What’s wrong?"
"I..." Irene Spencer pushed up her sunglasses. "I’m fine."
The other assistant also voiced his worry, "But, you look a bit pale."
"Shut up!" Irene Spencer snapped at them. "I need so quiet!"
The two assistants exchanged a look and simultaneously fell silent.
Irene Spencer sat in her seat, lifting her hand to gently wipe her nose.
The car wasn’t particularly hot, yet beads of sweat had already ford on her nose and forehead. She seed sowhat flustered.
An assistant glanced at her, his expression puzzled as he noticed her fingers, still trembling slightly as they clutched her purse.
She’d been perfectly fine just a mont ago. What on earth happened? She only visited Vera Wave’s ward, and her entire deanor changed upon her return.

「Inside the ward.」
Vera Wave was frowning, lost in thought.
Kris Cooper returned from his phone call and walked to her bedside. Seeing her lost in thought, he imdiately asked with concern, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing." Vera Wave looked up. "Kris, did I ever et Irene Spencer when we were in the States?"
Kris Cooper thought for a mont. "I don’t think so. You two weren’t at the sa school, so you probably didn’t know each other. I’ve also never heard her ntion you."
His tone was uncertain. After all, they were both Ebba people studying in the sa city overseas and moved in similar social circles. It was possible they had crossed paths once or twice.
But at that ti, he hadn’t paid much attention to Irene Spencer, so he wasn’t sure if Vera Wave and Irene Spencer knew each other.
"Then how does she know about us?" Vera Wave pressed.
