Christoper Cooper nodded, extending his hand.
"Give the keys. You can take a taxi back!"
The driver handed him the keys. As Christoper Cooper walked to the car, he saw Kris Cooper from a distance, standing beside it and repeatedly pounding the window with his fists.
Unlocking the car with the key, Christoper Cooper walked over and opened the driver’s door.
"Get in!"
Kris Cooper stopped, opened the rear door, seated himself in the back seat, and slamd the door.
Christoper Cooper started the car and drove out of the detention center gates.
Neither father nor son spoke a word during the entire drive. Christoper Cooper drove all the way to their suburban villa, parked the car, and then went to open the main gate.
Kris stepped out of the car, followed his father in, and headed straight for the liquor cabinet. He grabbed a glass, poured himself a drink, and downed it in one gulp.
He walked over and sat on a bar stool. Christoper simply grabbed a bottle of water, twisted off the cap, and took a sip.
"You can drown your sorrows today, but by tomorrow morning, you have to pull yourself together. The stock prices of both Glimr and Ashton have plumted. Tomorrow, I’ll arrange a press conference, and you will attend in person."
"I’m not going."
Kris finished speaking and took another large gulp of alcohol.
With a THUD, Christoper Cooper slamd his water bottle down on the table. His large hand shot out across it to grab Kris by the collar.
"Do you think Vera risked going to jail to get you out just so you could sit here moping and drinking? Fine, then keep at it! Drink yourself to death for all I care! I can damn well have another son!"
Letting go of him, Christoper Cooper turned, walked out, and slamd the door behind him with a BANG.
He understood what his son was feeling. Of course, he also knew what approach would be most effective with him.
「Back in the living room.」
Kris grabbed the liquor bottle and drank glass after glass.
In the room, the light gradually dimd.
「The moon rose and fell...」
「A new day’s sun rose.」
With a THUD, Kris slamd his empty glass down and walked upstairs.
Half an hour later, he ca downstairs again. He had showered and shaved and was dressed in a clean white shirt and suit. From head to toe, he looked as immaculate as ever.

He opened the door and walked out, squinting against the sowhat harsh sunlight.
His gaze fell on the car parked outside. He walked over to it, opened the door, and got into the backseat.
That night, while Kris had been drinking, his father, Christoper Cooper, had watched him the entire ti from outside the door.
Although he had told Kris to "drink himself to death," he naturally couldn’t bear for that to happen. He was just worried Kris might do sothing foolish or truly ruin his health from all the drinking. That was why Christoper Cooper hadn’t slept all night either.
Looking at his son in the rearview mirror, Christoper Cooper spoke faintly, "Where to?"
Kris massaged his temples. "The press conference!"
Behind the wheel, Christoper Cooper looked away from the mirror. For the first ti in days, the hint of a smile touched his usually stern face.
"I’m not your chauffeur."
In the backseat, Kris’s lips also twitched into a slight smile. "You’re my dad."
Christoper Cooper snorted lightly. "Good that you know."
