Dragon Mansion Jade Shadow Villa Community.
Upstairs in the study room, Nathan Leafcastle extended his hand to receive the docunts handed over by the assistant.
"How’s it going over at Peacock City?"
"The sale opened this morning, and so far, the signing rate has reached 30%." The assistant sighed, "Kris Cooper really has guts, actually exposing the incident at Peacock River himself, and even using ten million USD as relief funds... I really can’t understand it, are these guys just burning money? Every single one of these is a mansion worth more than ten million, and so many were sold in just one day."
Nathan Leafcastle opened the docunts handed over, "Peacock City is excellent in both environnt and location. That land was originally a pri piece of real estate. It’s a pity Barker hadn’t entered the Imperial City back then; otherwise, he would have taken that land even with a 10% higher price."
The assistant nodded lightly, "There’s one more thing."
"What is it?" Nathan Leafcastle asked, looking at the docunts in his hand.
"At the opening ceremony, Kris Cooper and Vera Wave appeared together..."
Nathan Leafcastle lifted his face from the docunts, his gaze falling on the assistant’s face.
"Appeared together?"
"That’s right, and they also announced their engagent, saying they’ll get married in a month," the assistant reported.
Nathan Leafcastle frowned slightly, "Any progress from the prison side?"
"So far, still unclear." The assistant shrugged, "The confidentiality work there is excellent, probably thanks to the Cooper Family’s influence."
Nathan Leafcastle was about to say sothing more when the doorbell rang from downstairs.
The assistant hurriedly left the study room, went downstairs to open the door, and saw Sally Dalton standing outside. He quickly invited her in.
"Miss Dalton, you’re back?"
"Yes." Sally Dalton smiled at him and then handed over a small gift box, "A gift for your girlfriend!"
"Thank you, Miss Dalton." The assistant accepted the gift box with both hands, "Sir is upstairs."
Sally Dalton smiled at him, "It’s getting late, you should head ho early to rest."
The assistant, being tactful, knew he couldn’t be a third wheel now that Sally Dalton was back. He helped Sally Dalton carry her luggage upstairs and then took his leave.
Inside the study room.
Nathan Leafcastle had already opened a webpage and was browsing the news.
The news image showed Vera Wave in a bright apricot floral dress, slightly turned, helping Kris Cooper adjust his shirt collar, her face full of smiles.
Seeing this photo, his brows imdiately furrowed.
The door was pushed open, and soone walked in slowly; he thought it was his assistant and paid no attention.
Sally Dalton walked over quietly, raised her hand to rest on his shoulder.
"What are you looking at, so intently?!"
Nathan Leafcastle turned his face in surprise, his dark eyes full of astonishnt.
"Sally? Why are you back, wasn’t it supposed to be tomorrow afternoon? Why so early?"
"Why?" Sally Dalton straightened her body, "Don’t you welco back early?"
"Of course not." Nathan Leafcastle raised his hand to cover hers on his shoulder, "I’m very happy you ca back early."
Sally Dalton smiled at him, her gaze sweeping over the computer screen, and seeing the photo above, she turned her face, "Vera’s getting married?"
"Seems like it!" Nathan Leafcastle moved the mouse, closed the news, and stood up from the chair, "By the way, Sally, don’t think too much about the news from a couple of days ago..."
"I know." Sally Dalton smiled with a forgiving face, "Those journalists just love writing such news, always fearing that the world is not chaotic enough."
