With such a start, the atmosphere at the dinner party grew even more harmonious.
Toward the end, Nathan Leafcastle even raised his glass, extending it toward Kris Cooper.
"Mr. Cooper, let toast to you with this drink. I wrongfully blad you earlier."
Kris Cooper angled his glass but didn’t move.
Vera Wave hurriedly interjected, "Brother Nathan... you... being able to say this, I really..."
Kris Cooper didn’t let her finish, he just pinched his glass, and with a crisp clink, it collided with Nathan Leafcastle’s, "Cheers!"
"Alright, cheers!"
Nathan Leafcastle raised his glass, joining him in bringing it to their lips and drinking it down again.
In the following ti, the two n continued toasting each other, finishing one bottle of baijiu, and Kris Cooper asked the waiter to open another.
Vera Wave and Sally Dalton both tried to stop them, but the two n were already at the point of red eyes from drinking, so they simply couldn’t be stopped.
When it ca to the last glass, Nathan Leafcastle stood holding his stomach, and Sally Dalton hurried to support him to the restroom, while Kris Cooper waved the glass in his hand at him.
"Quick... hurry back... co back, and keep drinking!"
Sally Dalton supported Nathan Leafcastle as they walked away, while Vera Wave, worried, grabbed Kris Cooper’s arm and took the glass from his hand.
"You’re both so drunk already, stop drinking."
"I’m not drunk, I’m... completely sober!" Kris Cooper raised his arm, embracing her neck, "I still need to protect my wife, how can I get drunk?"
Vera Wave just shook her head helplessly, busying herself picking up so waterlon from the fruit plate and bringing it to his mouth.
"Eat so fruit, so your stomach feels more comfortable."
He wasn’t shy, resting his head on her shoulder and eating bite after bite.
After a mont, Nathan Leafcastle returned, and Kris Cooper imdiately stood up, shouting indistinctly.
"Pour so wine!"
"No way!" Vera Wave quickly intervened, "You can’t drink anymore."
Nathan Leafcastle frowned as he sat in his chair, trying to stay sowhat clear-headed, but his stomach was already feeling terrible.
"It’s getting late, how about we call it a night today?"
Vera Wave suggested proactively, as Kris Cooper was already clearly a bit drunk, and she was really worried that if he kept drinking, his body wouldn’t be able to handle it.
"Honey, be good, can we stop drinking?"
"Just... one last glass!" Kris Cooper wobbled to his feet, grabbing the wine bottle to pour wine into two glasses, then picked one up and handed it to Nathan Leafcastle, "If you respect Kris Cooper, then drink this glass."
Sally Dalton tugged on Nathan Leafcastle’s arm, and Nathan Leafcastle looked up, staring at the drunken Kris Cooper.
"Alright, I’ll drink, after this glass, we’re all friends!"
"Good... friends!" Kris Cooper reached out to tap his shoulder, their glasses clinking heavily, and his hand wobbled, spilling so wine onto his hand, but he didn’t care and spiritedly drained his glass in one go.
Nathan Leafcastle turned his head, watching him, a flash of coldness in his eyes, and raised his glass to his lips, bracing himself to drink it all.
He reached out seemingly with the intention of placing the glass down, but Kris Cooper’s hand wobbled, and the glass fell to the floor instead of the table.
"Kris!" Vera Wave quickly stood up to support him and imdiately waved to a waiter, "Quick, help get him to the car."
"I... I’m fine, honey, I’m sober!"
"Stop talking and be good!"
"I want to drink..."
"Be good, you can drink another day!"
"No way."
"Listen."
Kris Cooper paused, "Then give a kiss."
