Bernardy Dalton glanced at Nathan Leafcastle and the others walking away and then focused on Kris Cooper.
"Although I’m not exactly sure how you negotiated this project, isn’t six billion too much?"
Kris Cooper extended his hand with a smile, "Rest assured, I won’t let Barker lose a single penny."
At this point, saying more was pointless. Bernardy Dalton just shook his head with a smile.
"Looks like I’m really getting old. Alright then, let’s leave it here today and await the bid opening."
Bernardy Dalton left with his Assistant, followed by Ashton’s Finance Director who frowned.
"President, if that’s the case, Ashton won’t have much profit!"
The total profit margin of this project was around 15%, and Kris Cooper just gave away six billion, which is almost half of the total profit. He also ntioned that Barker wouldn’t incur any loss, which ans the other party’s profit remains unchanged while Ashton ends up working for free?
"Honey, hungry? Let’s go... Let’s eat!" Kris Cooper didn’t explain anything but put his arm around Vera Wave’s shoulder and waved lightly to everyone, "You all can head back first!"
The crowd looked at each other, saying nothing more. The bids were submitted, so what else could they say?
The die was cast. Whether the project would be won or not, Kris Cooper owed the board eting an explanation, and these weren’t matters they could handle.
Everyone got into their cars and left, while Vera Wave and Kris Cooper sat in the back seat of their car.
When Tommy Taylor started the car, Vera couldn’t hold back her curiosity.
"Hubby, doesn’t that an we won’t make any money?"
Beside her, Kris Cooper flipped the script on his lap, smiling slightly, "Without making money, how will we buy diapers for our son?"
Vera gave him a sidelong glance, "I’m serious!"
Kris Cooper lifted his head, "Tommy, tell her."

Vera looked at Tommy, puzzled, and Tommy turned to her with a smile.
"Mr. Cooper replaced it with a file that has the exact sa quote."
Vera’s mouth fell open as she looked at Kris Cooper in shock for several seconds, then a thought struck her.
"Are you... worried about Smith?"
"That’s right." Kris Cooper turned the laptop screen toward her, "Look at this."
Vera leaned over to see a summary of the last decade’s projects by the Holland consortium, showing that they had secured at least ten major engineering projects worldwide.
"I’ve already checked this consortium. Although they have various qualifications, they never engage in real industry. After securing these projects, they compress profit margins and subcontract the work, then compete for the next project." Kris Cooper shrugged, "These guys are just a bunch of Vampires!"
"So...you think they also want to take the Jade River project and earn the price difference?" Vera asked.
"My wife is so smart." Kris Cooper pinched her cheek playfully, "Only Nathan Leafcastle, that fool, believes they really want to engage in real industry."
