Hearing her voice, Nathan Leafcastle released her, standing up straight again, squinting his eyes to take a closer look at her.
Recognizing that face, Nathan Leafcastle raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"You... Irene Spencer?! Aren’t you supposed to be in prison?"
Irene Spencer sneered, "Mr. Leafcastle would wish that I stayed in prison forever, wouldn’t you?"
Nathan Leafcastle furrowed his brows, "I don’t care where you are, what are you doing in my house?"
Irene Spencer glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention, then imdiately squeezed through the door past him and surveyed the surroundings before stepping over to the bar.
Noticing the empty wine glass on the table, she slightly curled her lips.
"Nathan Leafcastle, you’re really useless, just drinking alone here?!"
"Get out!" Nathan Leafcastle staggered over, pointing towards the door, "Get out now!"
He wasn’t in the mood to see anyone, especially soone like Irene Spencer.
Irene Spencer didn’t leave but sat down on a bar stool.
"Mr. Leafcastle... oh, I must have got that wrong. You’re no longer the CEO of Barker, right?" She picked up the wine bottle, poured a little into an empty glass, and lifted it towards Nathan Leafcastle, who was glaring at her, "Mr. Leafcastle, don’t you really want to know why I’ve co to see you?"
"I’ll say it once more." Nathan Leafcastle walked to the bar, lifted his hand to snatch the glass from her hand, "Leave, now!"
Irene Spencer pulled out a tissue to wipe the red wine that splashed on the back of her hand, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Even if... what I have to say is about Vera Wave, you still don’t want to listen?"
At the ntion of Vera’s na, Nathan Leafcastle’s previously clouded eyes suddenly cleared up a bit.
"What exactly do you want?"
Irene Spencer inclined her face towards him, a subtle smile on her lips.
"I’m here to help you."
"You... help ?" Nathan Leafcastle laughed contemptuously, "Ha... you want to help ?! What a big joke! Not to ntion that you, Irene Spencer, would have such goodwill, but what makes you qualified to help ?"
"Of course, I can’t help you get back to Barker," Irene Spencer dismissed his sarcasm without a care, "but I can help you get what you’ve always dread of."
She extended her arm, pointing to a picture hanging on the wall.
Nathan Leafcastle turned his face in the direction of her finger, to a photo frad on the wall.
Under the dim light, the photo showed Vera Wave hugging his neck, smiling brilliantly and innocently.
"Vera?"
He exclaid in surprise with Vera’s na.
"That’s right." Irene Spencer’s lips curled up slightly, but her eyes were filled with malice and coldness, "I can make sure you have her forever, and acquire Ashton, causing Kris Cooper to suffer endlessly. Aren’t these the things you desire, Mr. Leafcastle?"
Nathan Leafcastle’s eyebrows twitched, and his bloodshot eyes lifted to focus on her face.
"What do you an? What do you plan to do to Vera?"
"No need to be nervous, Mr. Leafcastle. I won’t hurt her, I’m just trying to help you." Irene Spencer picked up the glass she had drunk from again, lifting it to him, "So... shall we collaborate once more?"
Nathan Leafcastle brushed aside the glass she extended, reaching across the table to grab her collar.
"Irene Spencer, what on earth do you want?"
"I help you, you help . I assist you in getting what you desire, and you find a way to get out of the country..." Irene Spencer extended the glass to him once more, "Deal?!"
