Tears rolled down, falling onto the back of his hand.
"Don’t worry, as long as you wake up, I will never force you to do anything anymore. You don’t have to take responsibility for , nor force yourself to marry ... I just want... you to wake up, be alive... don’t die... please, Nathan?!"
His heart suddenly tightened.
Nathan Leafcastle endured the pain, took a deep breath, and with all his might, grasped her hand.
To him, this was already everything he had.
To her, it was just a slight movent of the fingers he held.
Feeling the movent in his hand, Sally Dalton held her breath, slowly relaxed her fingers, glanced at his face, and spoke once more.
"Nathan... Nathan, you are awake, aren’t you?"
He still kept his eyes closed, forcing his fingers to move.
Seeing his fingers slightly curl, the smile appeared on Sally Dalton’s tear-streaked face. She hurriedly stood up and rushed to the door.
"Doctor... nurse... quickly... he moved, he moved!"
The nurse ran in, the doctor followed...
"I really saw it, his fingers moved... Nathan..." Sally Dalton rushed back, holding his hand, "Nathan, move again, just once more, please!"
The fingers in her hand didn’t respond at all, as if everything just now was an illusion, yet the doctor by the bedside was already smiling.
"Miss Dalton, this is truly a miracle!"
Confused, Sally Dalton lifted her face to see the doctor’s expression; she turned her face following his gaze, only to see Nathan Leafcastle’s eyes gradually opening.
Seemingly unaccustod to such strong light, his eyes just opened a little and closed again.
A mont later, they opened once more, this ti finally opened a bit more.
"Nathan!" She joyfully leaned closer, holding his face, "You finally woke up!"
As the five words left her mouth, tears had already rolled down her face, dripping onto his face and the breathing mask...
The blurry vision gradually cleared up, Nathan Leafcastle saw the familiar yet tear-filled face, a sight he had never seen in such a state.
He wanted to raise his hand to wipe her tears, but exerting every ounce of strength, he could only move his fingers; he opened his mouth to console her.
"Don’t... cry..."
Seeing his lips tremble, Sally Dalton hurriedly moved her ear close.
"What did you say?"
He exerted all his strength, enduring the throat cutting pain, and spoke again.
"Don’t... cry!"
His voice was extrely hoarse and very faint, but this ti she finally understood what he said.
"Okay, I won’t cry! I won’t cry, see... I... I’m smiling, aren’t I?"
She smiled at him through her tears, but they still stread down like a flood; she wiped them away, but they wouldn’t stop.
Seeing her like this, Nathan Leafcastle’s heart ached, though he could do nothing; at this mont, he couldn’t even lift his arm, only shout with all his might.
"I’m... sorry!"
With every word uttered, his lungs seed ready to burst, yet he repeated it over and over.
"I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."
Until she finally heard his voice, grasping his hand and crying out loud.
"You fool, don’t say it anymore, you’re not allowed to say it..."

Kris Cooper gently exhaled, pulled out a handkerchief to wipe Vera Wave’s tears.
