Chapter 14: What the Heavenly Eye Sees, Ten Thousand Bones Wither Together

Su Qingge was still trembling.

Even though the Second Young Master had been taken away, the fear of having survived a disaster still washed over her nerves like a tide.

Her expensive white shirt was covered in mud and grass clippings, and her knee was scraped, oozing a trace of blood.

The once decisive and arrogant female CEO looked utterly disheveled at this mont.

But her eyes were very bright.

She stared fixedly at Zhang Xuanyao, without blinking.

There was no longer any doubt or contempt in her gaze; instead, it was replaced by a near-fanatical worship. It was as if she were looking at a living deity.

"Can you still walk?" Zhang Xuanyao asked.

Su Qingge opened her mouth but made no sound; she just nodded chanically, then shook her head.

Her legs were weak.

She really couldn't stand up.

Zhang Xuanyao sighed and walked over. Before he could reach out, Su Qingge, as if she had found a life-saving straw, lunged forward and grabbed his arm tightly.

Her nails dug into his flesh, causing him pain.

"Let go, you're going to tear off a piece of my flesh." Zhang Xuanyao frowned.

"I won't." Su Qingge's voice was hoarse, laced with tears, yet exceptionally firm. "I'm scared."

"The police are right here, what are you afraid of?"

"I only trust you."

Su Qingge lifted her head, her dust-covered face full of stubbornness. "Except for you, I don't trust anyone right now."

Officer Xiao Wang finished processing the scene and walked over with a transparent evidence bag. Inside the bag was the severed brake line.

The cut was smooth, clearly the work of a Sharp Weapon.

"Daoist Zhang, Young Miss Su."

Officer Xiao Wang glanced at their "conjoined twin" posture, twitched the corner of his mouth, and pretended not to see it.

"I need you both to co back to the station with us. Attempted murder, a massive amount involved, and the nature of the cri is egregious. We need detailed statents from both of you."

Zhang Xuanyao tried to pull his arm away, but after failing twice, he simply gave up.

"Let's go, CEO Su. The police station is safer than this cliff edge."

The police car was parked on the side of the road.

Zhang Xuanyao was shoved into the back seat, and Su Qingge followed him in. Even in the narrow cabin, she insisted on sitting next to Zhang Xuanyao, her body pressed tightly against his Daoist robe.

The car door closed, cutting off the wind from the mountaintop.

The cabin was filled with a faint sll of leather and the unique sandalwood scent on Zhang Xuanyao.

Slling this, Su Qingge's tense body finally relaxed slowly.

The police car started, the siren wailed, and it sped down the mountain.

Officer Xiao Wang in the front seat glanced at the back seat through the rearview mirror.

The Su Qingge who was usually decisive in the business world was now leaning to one side, like a little fan girl chasing a star, her eyes fixed on Zhang Xuanyao's profile.

If eyes could spin silk, the car would be full of spider webs by now.

"Daoist Zhang."

Officer Xiao Wang turned the steering wheel to take a turn and broke the silence. "That banana peel just now... was it really a coincidence?"

As a materialist warrior, Officer Xiao Wang felt that everything that happened today was challenging his professional understanding.

How could it be that coincidental?

There just happened to be a banana peel?

The Second Young Master just happened to step on it?

And before that, he heard Zhang Xuanyao mutter "slip."

If that was a coincidence, the odds of winning the lottery jackpot would be higher than this.

Zhang Xuanyao leaned against the back of the seat, closing his eyes to rest. "Officer Wang, we must believe in science. That was just trash thrown by an uncivilized tourist, combined with the inevitable result of Newton's laws of motion."

"But..."

"There are no buts."

Zhang Xuanyao interrupted him.

"This Daoist is just a law-abiding citizen. That was just a concerned citizen assisting the police in capturing a criminal."

Officer Xiao Wang choked.

This Daoist's mouth was tighter than the police interrogation experts.

In the back seat, Su Qingge didn't hear what they were saying at all.

Her attention was entirely on Zhang Xuanyao.

Just now on the cliff edge, this man calculated that she had a life-threatening tribulation.

Then he calculated that the brakes had been tampered with.

Then he calculated that the Second Young Master wanted to kill her.

Finally, he even calculated exactly when the Second Young Master would fall.

This wasn't fortune-telling.

This was a deity descending to the mortal world.

The more Su Qingge thought about it, the faster her heart beat. Her business intuition of so many years told her that the man in front of her was the greatest opportunity she would ever encounter in her life.

She had to seize him.

At all costs.

"Master Zhang..." Su Qingge spoke cautiously, her voice so soft it was as if she were afraid of disturbing a deity.

Zhang Xuanyao opened his eyes and turned to look at her. "What is it?"

"Could you... help calculate one more fortune?"

Su Qingge's eyes were full of hope, the look of a drowning person seeing a piece of driftwood.

Zhang Xuanyao raised an eyebrow. "CEO Su, you know my rules. That last fortune was to save your life, but this one..."

"I know! I'll pay more!"

Before he could finish, Su Qingge hurriedly took out her phone from her pocket.

The screen had a cracked corner, but it didn't affect the operation.

She opened the banking app and her fingers quickly entered a string of numbers.

"Ding."

The phone in Zhang Xuanyao's pocket vibrated.

He took it out and looked.

【Your bank card has received: 10,000.00 Yuan.】

"One thousand yuan per fortune." Zhang Xuanyao put his phone back in his pocket, his tone flat. "CEO Su gave too much."

"The rest is incense money."

Su Qingge didn't care about this ten thousand yuan at all. To her, any problem that could be solved with money was not a problem. And with Zhang Xuanyao, money was clearly the best stepping stone.

"I want to ask..."

Su Qingge took a deep breath and adjusted her sitting posture, making herself look more upright.

Her business empire was vast, involving real estate, finance, and technology. With the Second Young Master causing this trouble, even though she hadn't been killed, the subsequent turmoil for the Su Group was inevitable.

Especially that project.

That super project that had tied up almost half of the Su Group's liquid capital.

"That land in South City."

Su Qingge stared into Zhang Xuanyao's eyes, her speaking speed fast.

"The Su Group is preparing to bid for that plot of land in the old town of South City next month, planning to develop it into a high-end comrcial residential area. I have been preparing this project for two full years, and the preliminary investnt has already exceeded five hundred million."

"But I have been restless lately, always feeling like sothing is wrong."

"Great Master, can you help take a look—can this land... be taken?"

Zhang Xuanyao didn't speak.

He turned his head and looked at the scenery flying backward outside the window.

Deep within his pupils, a golden light that ordinary people could not detect flowed quietly.

【Heavenly Eye】, activate.

As Su Qingge ntioned the "South City land," Zhang Xuanyao's vision seed to pierce through the constraints of ti and space.

The scene before him changed.

It was no longer the winding road of Mount Longhu.

But a vast wasteland.

Overgrown with weeds, broken walls, and ruins.

It was an old factory area on the edge of the city, looking unremarkable.

But in Zhang Xuanyao's field of vision, the land was shrouded in a layer of suffocating, thick blood-red clouds.

That was not ordinary Evil Qi.

That was resentnt.

Monstrous resentnt.

His vision continued to sink, piercing through the surface.

One ter.

Five ters.

Ten ters.

One hundred ters.

Beneath that thick yellow soil, Zhang Xuanyao saw a scene that made his scalp tingle.

Bones.

Layers upon layers, densely packed bones.

It wasn't dozens, nor was it hundreds.

It was thousands upon thousands of corpses, piled together casually like trash, forming a massive underground corpse pit.

Each bone was wrapped in black Death Qi; they were wailing underground, struggling, cursing every living person who tried to disturb their slumber.

If one were to build on top of this...

That would be truly dancing on the gates of hell.

Whoever lives there dies.

Not only would the residents die, but the developer would also be finished.

The scene shifted.

Zhang Xuanyao saw the vision of the future.

Just as the high-rise buildings were topped off, accidents began to occur frequently on the construction site. Workers fell from the buildings, and tower cranes collapsed.

Imdiately after, the project beca an unfinished eyesore, and the property owners demanded their rights.

The Su Group's capital chain broke, Su Qingge shouldered a huge debt, and finally, on a rainy night, she jumped from the top of that unfinished building.
