"Alright... alright. Let’s go inside." She turned to Mr. Fenrir. "But I don’t think you can enter the house, Mr. Fenrir. You’re too big."

Mr. Fenrir suddenly whimpered like a sad little puppy. Then, before their eyes, his massive body began to shrink. In just a few seconds, the giant wolf had beco no bigger than a husky.

Roxanna blinked several tis in disbelief. "W-What? You can turn into the size of a dog?!"

Mr. Fenrir’s tail shot up and began wagging happily as he nudged Roxanna’s back again. "Woof! Woof!"

The wolf barked a few tis, clearly urging her to hurry inside the house. Roxanna had no choice but to move forward.

"Here, I’m walking! I’m walking!" Roxanna complained. "Stop pushing !"

After a mont, Mr. Fenrir finally stopped pushing her and walked ahead of them instead. When Roxanna reached the front door, she paused. She took several deep breaths, trying to calm the uneasy feeling in her chest.

"Do you want to open it for you?" Calen asked when he noticed she was still standing there without moving.

Roxanna slowly shook her head. "No... I can do it."

After a short mont, she gently pulled her hand away from Calen’s and placed it on the doorknob. Holding her breath, she slowly pushed the door open, and mories she had tried to bury long ago rushed back into her mind.

Just like the outside, the inside of the house was badly damaged. The paint on the walls had peeled away, and frost covered many parts of the surface. The windows were shattered, maybe broken by people, or maybe destroyed by the violent storm winds.

"What is this?" Azul asked. His eyes were fixed on a flat object that showed people’s faces inside a small box covered with glass.

"Oh, that’s called a photo," Roxanna said with a small smile.

She walked over to the cabinet and picked up one of the photo fras. The glass was cracked, but it hadn’t broken completely. She wiped away the fog covering it so she could see the picture clearly.

"This is my real face."

She raised the fra so Calen and Azul could see it.

In truth, Roxanna didn’t look very different from how she looked now. The only real change was that her old hair had been brunette, and her eyes used to be hazel.

[But even if the only difference is my hair and eye color... I still look different,] Roxanna sighed inwardly. [Even the evil Roxanna’s pink hair looks shinier than my old hair.]

"This is an old photo, so... if I look—"

"You looked beautiful."

"Your old self was very pretty!"

Azul and Calen spoke at the sa ti. Their sudden praise made Roxanna feel a little embarrassed, but it also eased the worry in her heart. At least her husbands didn’t think she looked strange.

"You’re always beautiful, even in this body," Calen said quickly. "I’m not praising the evil Roxanna’s face. I’m saying this because your soul is inside this body. That’s why you’re beautiful!"

If the soul inside that body had been the evil Roxanna, Calen would never have been willing to call her beautiful. At the end of the day, a person’s beauty is also determined by how beautiful their heart is.

"Thank you," Roxanna said with a soft laugh.

She carefully placed the photo fra back on the cabinet before walking deeper into the house.

This house had two floors; on the first floor, there was a living room, dining room, and all the public spaces, while the second floor contained two bedrooms and the study room that belonged to her and Leon.

Next to the dining room stood a large glass wall that faced the garden behind the house. Unfortunately, the garden had been buried under the snow, and the maple tree that used to grow there had fallen.

"If you co here during spring, you would see a beautiful maple tree," Roxanna said as she stepped closer to the glass wall. A gentle smile appeared on her face as old mories surfaced.

"Birds often perched on its branches," she continued softly. "There was even a small bird that looked a lot like Cyrus."

Roxanna fell silent for a mont as a mory slowly surfaced in her mind. Back then, there had been a small red bird that often appeared in the garden. It even ca far more frequently than the other birds.

At the ti, Roxanna thought the bird simply liked coming because she often left food outside for them. But now that she thought about it again... why did that little red bird look so much like Cyrus?

[Well... Cyrus can’t be the only red sparrow in the world,] Roxanna told herself. [So it’s normal if so birds look similar to him.]

"Woof! Woof!"

Roxanna quickly turned around when she heard Mr. Fenrir barking.

"What? Where is that damn dog?" Azul frowned and looked around. "I swear I just saw him standing next to a mont ago."

Roxanna glanced around the room but couldn’t find Mr. Fenrir anywhere on the first floor. From the sound of his barking, she was also sure he wasn’t on the second floor.

"Mr. Fenrir might be in the basent!" Roxanna said suddenly.

She was about to walk toward the stairs, but then she stopped.

A thought suddenly appeared in her mind. [Wait... does Mr. Fenrir want to bring to the underground shelter? Why?]

[I thought we weren’t going there.]

After all, the underground shelter was a place that held so many painful mories. Entering the house was one thing, but entering the underground shelter was sothing else entirely.

Without realizing it, her breathing beca shallow as fear slowly crept into her heart. And her hands even beca colder than before.

"Co on, let’s go there." Azul walked ahead first, then held out his hand toward Roxanna. "I know that place gave you many painful mories, but now... it’s just an empty place. You will be fine."

He was right. Her ex-husband wasn’t here.
