"Co out, Scyther."
Feng Che intended to complete Scyther's evolution first. Fortunately, he had the Bug Crystal and the Heart of Steel on hand. He planned to create a specialized tal coating using the Dark-Iron and Drained-Iron from Indigo Prison, the teoritic Iron from the Draconids, and the Ultra-Pure Iron from the Sky Pillar.
While Kleavor was an option, Feng Che preferred the sleek, armored look of Scizor. Although Scizor's base stat total is identical to Scyther's and it gains a crippling 4x weakness to Fire, Feng Che had his own thods to mitigate its flaws.
"Co out, Incineroar."
"Incineroar, use Flathrower to cut the Ultra-Pure Iron into palm-sized plates."
Incineroar took a deep breath, exhaling a pillar of white-hot fire from its belt. The fla split into hundreds of precision threads—a technique it had learned by observing Greninja's control. The threads sliced through the iron cage with clinical ease.
"Good. Now, help refine this teoritic Iron ore."
He pulled the raw, black ore from his storage ring. Incineroar's intense heat lted the stones, and Feng Che used his psychic power to extract the impurities. Soon, a slab of refined iron with a deep blue luster sat before him. He repeated the process for the Dark-Iron and Drained-Iron.
Using his telekinesis, Feng Che mixed the liquid tals in a precise ratio, creating a custom alloy steel. Once it cooled, it ford a fine, silver-white powder. He handed the Bug Crystal to Scyther and coated its body in the alloy.
"Scyther, get ready. I'm going to use the trade-evolution device. The mont you erge, I'll give you the Heart of Steel. Absorb as much as you can; the more you take, the stronger your foundation."
Scyther nodded sharply and entered its Poké Ball. Feng Che initiated the exchange with an empty ball. As the transfer completed and Scyther erged, it was instantly bathed in the white light of evolution. Feng Che pressed the Heart of Steel into the light.
The process took hours. When the moon reached its peak, a magnificent Scizor stood before him.
This Scizor was encased in shimring silver-white armor rather than the typical red. Its dual-layered wings were semi-transparent, though it was now too heavy for sustained flight. Its massive pincers, making up a third of its body weight, were marked with eye-like patterns to intimidate foes.
Pokémon: Scizor Gender: Male Potential: Epic (Cyan) Level: 48 Type: Bug / Steel Ability: Technician Unique Status: Inherited the Heart of Steel's essence. Fire-type move damage is halved. Evaluation: A master of precision with muscles made of living tal.
Feng Che took back the Heart of Steel; Scizor had only consud about 10% of its energy. He then tossed the orb to Corviknight, who simply swallowed it whole.
"You greedy bird! I said absorb it, not eat the whole thing! Save so for the next one!" Feng Che joked, patting the steel bird's head as it looked at him with a sheepish, "guilty" expression.
"Zeraora, rest here for a while," Feng Che said, releasing the Mythical cat. "I'll leave Venusaur here to look after you until the egg is born." He provided a thumb-sized Thunder Crystal and several high-grade Thunder Stones siphoned from Dorus's vault.
That Warden was a goldmine. If he keeps his job after the riot, I might have to go back and 'harvest' him again, Feng Che thought.
The Aftermath: A Reunion
Feng Lu, having bid farewell to Augustus, returned to his long-abandoned ho. The furniture was thick with dust, and spiderwebs draped the corners. On the mantel stood a wooden picture fra.
He wiped away the gri to reveal a family portrait: a younger Feng Lu, his wife Aiko, and their toddler, Li, clutching a wooden horse.
"Aiko, Li... I'm back. No matter what it takes, I will find you," he whispered, tears streaming down his face. He pulled out the communicator Augustus had given him and dialed a number etched into his soul.
Ring... ring...
"Hello? Who is this?" a gruff voice answered. It was Virdane, the Dragon Sage of Unova.
Feng Lu couldn't speak. He just listened to his father's voice for the first ti in thirty years.
"Hello? Is this thing broken?" Virdane grumbled. Just as he was about to hang up, a heart-wrenching sob ca through the speaker.
"Dad... I'm ho."
Virdane froze. The Dragon Sage, a man who feared nothing, began to tremble. Tears overflowed from his clouded eyes. "You brat... you finally called. Did you have to wait until I was on my deathbed to co back?"
Feng Lu wept as he told his father of his thirty-year imprisonnt in Kanto. "Those bastards... how dare they," Virdane roared. "I'm coming to Blackthorn! I'll call the clan and we'll burn the Plateau to the ground!"
"No, Dad. I've already razed the prison. Goodshow is my target now, and I'll settle my own scores," Feng Lu said firmly. "I just wanted you to know I'm alive."
"Good. Co back to Unova soon. I've missed you, son."
The Phone Call
"What did you say? The League is reclaiming Death Island?!"
Feng Che's heart sank as he spoke to Lance. Death Island held his Gracidea Flowers and Salac Berry trees. He had planned to have Venusaur transplant them to the Breeding House mountain and invite the Pidgeot family to relocate there.
"Yes," Lance said regretfully. "Because I've been transferred to Johto, and Death Island is in Kanto territory, I can no longer hold title to it. League officials are already en route to secure the site."
To Feng Che, this was a bolt from the blue.
