"Lorelei, I'm counting on you! I have to treat High Priest Shamiao. Please, defeat Dark and destroy the Sea Pillar," Lance shouted, his hands glowing with a steady green light. "I'm not a specialist in toxins, but I can use the Power of Viridian to stabilize his condition and prevent the poison from reaching his heart."
Lance pulled a vial of high-grade universal antidote from his storage ring and forced the Priest to drink. "Hang in there, Shamiao. Luckily, Feng Che gave these experintal antidotes earlier—it won't cure this League neurotoxin completely, but it'll halt the necrosis."
Lance was seething. Just as Lugia was about to be subdued by Damalanchi, the High Priest had fallen to a cowardly ambush.
"Elite Four Lorelei, I know you're powerful," Dark's voice echoed from the shifting shadows of the cavern. "But you aren't my match. As long as I can rge with the darkness, you'll never even touch my shadow."
"Whether I'm your match is sothing you'll find out in a mont," Lorelei replied, her voice dropping to a sub-zero temperature. "Go, Cloyster! Dewgong! Ice Beam!"
In an instant, the entire cavern floor was flash-frozen into a sheet of slick, crystalline ice.
"Cloyster, guard Lance and the Priest. Don't let anything get close," she commanded.
"Hahaha! You still think you can predict my movents?" Dark laughed. "Grapploct, use Bullet Punch!"
A Grapploct erupted from Cloyster's own shadow, its tentacles blurred as it rained heavy blows down on the bivalve Pokémon. The impact sent sparks flying, and a large crack appeared on Cloyster's massive, armored shell.
"Now, Cloyster! Shell Smash, then Icicle Spear!"
Cloyster's armor shattered outward with explosive force. Freed from its heavy weight, the core Pokémon's speed reached a terrifying level. It launched eight massive jagged ice spears. Swoosh! The spears pierced through Grapploct's tentacles, pinning the fighting-type to the frozen ground.
Suddenly, a Crabominable burst from Grapploct's shadow, delivering a heavy hook that sent the weakened Cloyster flying.
"Lorelei, I knew Cloyster was your ace," Dark's voice ca from directly behind her. "That's why I hid my Crabominable in Grapploct's shadow. My combat experience is far beyond yours. If you personally kill Shamiao and Lance now, I might ask Damalanchi to let you return to the League. What do you say?"
Dark lunged, a jagged black blade aid straight for Lorelei's heart. The blade sank deep into her chest—but there was no blood.
Dark stared in shock as the "Lorelei" before him shattered into thousand of ice shards. It was a perfect Ice Substitute.
Dark tried to retreat, but his legs were stuck. He looked down; his lower body was already encased in a block of deep-freeze ice.
"I'm disappointed," the real Lorelei said, stepping out from behind a frozen pillar. "I've been using that ice doll since the mont we stepped onto Silver Rock Island. My Ice Legion has already infiltrated the island and is currently dismantling the League's periter. This doll was crafted by my Pokémon... and your life will be the price for my anger."
With a sharp snap of her fingers, the ice surged upward, sealing Dark into an eternal, frozen tomb.
The Final Stand of the Pillars
"Lorelei! Destroy the Sea Pillar!" Lance yelled. "Once the pillar falls, the Orbs lose their grip, and Lugia can seize the Heart of the Sea to escape!"
"Understood. For the Sea Pillar, I'll need my final trump card."
Lorelei released Articuno. The legendary bird let out a chilling cry as Lorelei climbed onto its back, soaring toward the glowing blue pillar at the center of the island. Below them, the island was a warzone; hundreds of Cloyster and Shellder were swarming League grunts, while Dewgong units breathed out a thick, freezing mist to immobilize the gunships.
anwhile, Lugia was being dragged toward Damalanchi by the combined force of the Ancient Orbs. The President stood before the ruins of the ancient temple, holding the Heart of the Sea aloft to trigger the temple's sacrificial array.
The Orbs unleashed a concentrated barrage: Thunderbolt, Flathrower, Blizzard, and Rock Slide all slamd into Lugia at once. The Great Sea God let out a heart-wrenching shriek of pain.
"Surrender, Lugia! I am the Master of the Future! I am your Trainer!" Damalanchi scread, his eyes wide with mania. "With you, I will command Kanto. I will use you to find Ho-Oh! Even the Pokémon Global Federation will bow to !"
The Sabotage Operations
Blue Rock Island: Lt. Surge had summoned his own secret weapon: Zapdos. The storm god hovered like a golden lightning bolt. "Zapdos, help Lugia! Use Thunderbolt at maximum output on the Gale Pillar!"
Yellow Rock Island: Shaymin, wreathed in the power of the Green Leaf Orb, was gathering energy for a massive Seed Flare. Above Sabrina, a Moltres dived, its flas clashing with the Earth Pillar's defensive tremors.
Silver Rock Island: Lorelei and Articuno were preparing their most lethal move: Freeze-Dry, aid at the liquid-like core of the Sea Pillar.
Red Rock Island: Feng Che stood before the towering pillar of fire. "Incineroar, drain the fire! Greninja, give everything you've got! Gyarados, bring the rain!"
Gyarados summoned a torrential downpour, but the Fire Pillar only burned hotter, turning the rain into scalding steam. Incineroar ignored the heat, leaping onto the stone and literalizing its Oga Rune to siphon the energy directly into its muscles.
Greninja stood at the base, an Alpha Rune glowing on its hands. It gathered the moisture of the entire archipelago into two massive Water Shurikens wreathed in the power of Origin Pulse.
Greninja: This is my ultimate creation: Origin Pulse Shuriken!
Greninja hurled the blades. They tore through the pillar's protective fire dragons like they weren't even there. CRACK! A massive fissure appeared on the Red Pillar. Then, with a deafening shatter, the Fire Pillar exploded into fragnts.
"One down," Feng Che wiped the sweat from his brow.
Silver Rock Island: Lugia was pinned to the ground, exhausted. Damalanchi stepped forward, the Heart of the Sea glowing inches from Lugia's forehead. "Now... serve !"
