CLICK.

Mia Grant’s hand trembled, and the dicine fell at her feet.

She looked at Felix Sinclair with a very complicated expression. On closer inspection, her lips were trembling slightly.

Felix, in contrast, remained expressionless. He only lowered his gaze slightly when she looked over.

It was unclear if he was avoiding her gaze or looking for where she had dropped the box of dicine.

It seed to be the latter.

Because Mia saw him bend down and reach toward her.

In her daze, his short hair brushed lightly against the back of her hand, which was frozen in mid-air.

Reaching out, he deftly picked up the box of dicine from beside her feet.

It was so quiet inside the car that the rattling of the pills inside the box was clearly audible.

Mia could even hear the sound of the packaging creaking as he gripped the box tightly.

His grip tightened, and it felt as if it wasn’t the box being squeezed, but her heart.

Felix straightened up, but this ti he didn’t put the box back in her hand. He carefully unwrapped the outer packaging, speaking as he did so. "I know there are side effects, but compared to the potential consequences down the road, this is the lowest-risk option."

"Just one is enough."

"In the future, don’t ss around with him anymore."

"..."

In an instant, Mia’s cheeks flushed crimson. It wasn’t until he held out the pill that she snapped out of it and hurriedly denied it, "You’ve misunderstood!"

"It’s not what you think!"

"We didn’t... Ugh, that’s not... " This topic was simply too embarrassing to talk about.

Mia had always thought she was pretty thick-skinned, but she couldn’t bring herself to discuss sothing like this as calmly as Felix did.

"Anyway, it’s just not what you’re thinking."

"You’ve misunderstood."

Felix raised his gaze slightly, his eyes moving from the pill between his fingertips to her face.

The girl’s expression was tense, her eyes were flustered, and a hint of a flush had crept onto her cheeks.

She was at a loss, her fingers fidgeting aimlessly. The tips of her ears were so red they looked like they were about to bleed from embarrassnt.

After a few seconds of silence, Felix put the pill back into the box and placed it in the center console.

"Okay."

He replied, then turned to fasten his seatbelt and start the car.

"..."

After the car had driven a little way, Mia swallowed nervously, feeling as if she were in a dream.

"Is it... over just like that?"

Felix glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

His look seed to ask, ’What else?’

"I thought you’d have a lot more questions for ."

But all he said was a single "Okay."

She had prepared so many explanations, but after waiting and waiting, nothing more ca.

After a long while, Felix spoke calmly.

"I was just worried about your health."

"As for everything else, I don’t really want to know."

Mia’s heart, which had been hanging in suspense, hadn’t even settled before she heard him add faintly, "Besides, I don’t have the right to ask."

"..."

In that instant, Mia’s heart leaped into her throat again.

For the rest of the drive, neither of them spoke another word.

The car ca to a steady stop in front of her dormitory.

Mia unbuckled her seatbelt but hesitated to get out.

Felix didn’t rush her, waiting patiently.

Ti passed. After what felt like an eternity, a shadow suddenly fell over Felix’s peripheral vision.

He turned his head and saw Mia leaning in close.

He froze for a mont.

The next second, he felt warmth on his lips.

Felix lowered his eyes, watching her in silence.

When he didn’t react, Mia nipped at his lip.

It was less of a bite and more of a tease.

She used no force at all.

Just a light, grazing pressure.

After a long mont, she pulled back slightly and looked up at him.

After a brief mont of eye contact, he asked, "Are you apologizing?"

Mia blinked but said nothing.

She could feel how much it bothered Felix, and she knew that any further explanation would just sound like a disingenuous cover-up to him.

The more she said, the more likely she was to say the wrong thing.

It was better to say nothing at all.

"You don’t have to do this." Felix averted his gaze, looking out into the distance through the windshield.

"Given our relationship, you don’t need to apologize..."

Before he could finish, his chin was grabbed. Before he could react, Mia, who had only been leaning over slightly from the passenger seat, threw herself at him.

Their lips crashed together. She let out a soft whimper of pain but didn’t pull back, kissing him passionately.

He wanted to pull away, wanted to speak.

But parting his lips only gave her the opening she wanted.

Gradually, the hand that was ant to push her away ended up wrapping around her waist.

He returned her kiss, taking control and kissing her back forcefully.

After breakfast that morning, she had used his mouthwash.

The scent of mint filled their mouths.

She held him tight, not letting go even when the kiss left her breathless.

It was Felix who finally noticed and took the initiative to pull back, creating a sliver of distance between them.

Their heated breaths mingled in the air.

Her eyes were hazy as her fingers traced his brows and eyes. The next second, before he could react, she lowered her head and kissed him again.

Like an insatiable kitten, she desperately sought affection from her owner.

An unknown amount of ti passed before the two reluctantly separated.

Felix’s breathing was unsteady. He looked up at her, a faint bite mark still visible on his lip.

Mia blinked, her expression innocent yet tinged with a hint of wanting to please him.

In that mont, the frustration in Felix’s heart vanished.

He kissed the corner of her mouth. "Go on back. Don’t you have a class?"

"I’ll pick you up when it’s over."

He was asking her to have lunch with him.

A smile played on Mia’s lips. "You seem to know a lot about my classes."

They were in the sa college, but not the sa major.

"How did you find out?"

Felix answered frankly, "I asked your classmate."

Mia laughed, reaching out to touch his red, hot ear and kneading it gently. "Next ti, you can just ask directly. It’ll save you the trouble."

The young man seed to smile as well. "Okay."

Mia’s heart softened, and she took the opportunity to tell him, "I also spoke with your mother last night."

"I know."

"Did she tell you?"

"No." He paused, then added an explanation as if afraid she would misunderstand. "I’m sure she wouldn’t hurt you. So..."

"I know." Mia hugged him, resting in his arms and speaking softly, "I really like your mother, too."

"I was even thinking it would be nice if she were my mom, too."

She didn’t notice his pupils constrict slightly when she said that.

"She’s a wonderful person. But... I don’t have any plans to get engaged or married. For , it’s all still too soon. As things stand, that’s not part of my plan for the future yet."

"But I just can’t say no to her."

"It’s okay." Felix understood what she ant. "I’ll make it clear to her. You don’t have to feel burdened."

"Her enthusiasm just proves she really likes you; she’s not trying to pressure you."

"Not just now, but even on the day of the engagent party, or even at the wedding. You always have the right to refuse."

"You belong only to yourself, so you don’t owe anyone anything."

The young man’s voice was clear, his words spoken slowly but with conviction.

Mia felt as if she were rooted to the spot. It took her a long mont to lift her head from his embrace.

"Felix."

"I’m here." He had a feeling that what she was about to say was important.

Her eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. "If, in the future, I decide to re-plan my life... you will definitely be my first choice."
