The plane skimd through the clouds.
On the screen diagonally ahead, the ti was displayed.

During his silence, a young flight attendant approached, wearing an airline-customized cheongsam, flesh-colored stockings over her legs, bent slightly as she spoke to Lin Yi.
“You’ve asked this four tis already. Don’t you ever stop?”
The flight attendant froze, surprised by Lin Yi’s cold tone.
He had been polite during earlier encounters—why was he suddenly acting like this toward her?
“I’m sorry to disturb you.”
The flight attendant forced a professional smile and turned to leave.
But as she walked away, her expression cooled and she returned to the break area.
“Just because he’s good-looking, he acts like he’s above everyone else!”
“Alright, let’s stop trying—we can’t do much if he isn’t interested,” another flight attendant offered.
“I think he’s just pretending to be aloof!”
“Calm down. After all, he’s sitting in first class—he’s not your average guy.”
“Tch, looking at him, he doesn’t seem wealthy. Maybe so rich mistress bought the ticket for him.”
“Anyway, clearly we don’t stand a chance. Let’s just stop engaging with him.”
Since the flight attendant left, Lin Yi’s surroundings quieted down significantly.
The other female passengers in first class gave up on attempting to make conversation with Lin Yi.
They shared the flight attendants’ opinion: this man was putting on airs.
More than an hour passed before the plane landed at Yanjing Airport.
As Lin Yi disembarked, the Central Guards Brigade was already waiting below the aircraft.
A fleet of over ten vehicles, all bearing the black background and white-lettered plates, lined up uniformly.
At the head of the group were Liang Xianghe and Ning Che.
Passengers exiting the plane were startled by the scene.
It was the first ti any of them had witnessed vehicles parked directly beneath an aircraft!
And all sporting such distinctive black-and-white plates!

At this stage, it wouldn’t be surprising if she went into early labor and needed to be rushed to the hospital at any mont.
Out of courtesy, Lin Yi stepped forward to greet Liang Xianghe first.
“You coming personally to pick up—it’s making feel a bit embarrassed.”
Witnesses exiting the plane were astonished by this exchange.
No one had expected the seemingly arrogant man to command such privilege.
Especially the flight attendants who had tried to chat him up—their reactions were tinged with self-consciousness now.

“It’s the least we can do.”
Liang Xianghe patted Lin Yi’s shoulder warmly, a fatherly kindness in his eyes.
“You’ve worked hard.”
“It’s my duty. When wearing this uniform, you must honor what it stands for.”
Liang Xianghe smiled. “Co on, this isn’t the right place for a conversation.”
Lin Yi nodded and joined Liang Xianghe in a vehicle.
Before entering the car, Lin Yi pulled Liang Ruoxu in as well. Together, they rode back to the Central Guards Brigade headquarters.
“How were Zhang Long’s funeral arrangents handled? Were his family inford?”
“The family has been notified,” Liang Xianghe said.
“Everything is ready. As for the foreigner’s body, it can be cremated anyti.”
Lin Yi hesitated for a mont. “Let’s proceed now. There’s no point in delaying further.”
“I’ll arrange it—the cremation will be tomorrow morning.”
Over the next hour, Lin Yi recounted the events that transpired in Japan to Liang Xianghe in detail.

If sothing had happened to Lin Yi, their purpose in the Brigade would have been lost.
After chatting briefly with Ning Che, Qiu Yuluo, and mbers of the first team, Lin Yi excused himself, planning to arrange for a reunion in a few days.
For now, he needed to focus on resolving imdiate obligations.
Having addressed others, Lin Yi finally found a mont to share so private ti with Liang Ruoxu.
“I’ve made you worry during this ti.”
“Oh, you’re aware, are you?” Liang Ruoxu shot him a glare. “I’m about to give birth. If the child ends up without a father, won’t they be incessantly bullied in the future?”
“But I’m back now,” Lin Yi grinned. “From now on, even if the sky falls, I won’t leave again.”
“Hmph. If your words hold any weight, the sun might rise in the west tomorrow.”
Lin Yi took Liang Ruoxu’s hand as they strolled out of the administrative building of the Central Guards Brigade.
“When’s your due date?”
“Next week.”
Liang Ruoxu instinctively rested her hand on her belly. “But these past few days, he’s been so unruly—constantly kicking . Do you think he might be a boy?”
“Haven’t you checked?”
“My mom and dad didn’t allow to.”
“With their personalities, they don’t seem like the old-fashioned type,” Lin Yi said.
“It’s not what you think,” Liang Ruoxu explained.
“They said whether it’s a boy or a girl doesn’t matter—health is all that matters. We should let nature take its course.”
“That’s a sensible viewpoint, too.”
“But I feel like he might co early. There’s been spotting recently, and the doctor told to go ho and prepare. Once contractions beco regular, I’ll need to check into the hospital.”
Lin Yi calculated. “At this stage, going into labor a few days early wouldn’t be an issue.”
“My mom said the sa,” Liang Ruoxu replied.
“My grandma ntioned that my dad was only two pounds when he was born, and he turned out fine.”
“Can’t argue with that logic,” Lin Yi chuckled.
“So are you going for a C-section or a natural birth?”
