Chapter 2559: Chapter 2560: Teaching the Entertainnt Industry a Lesson
A young man about thirty years old stepped down from the car.
His na was Qi Jingsi, and his family wielded significant influence both in Yanjing and Tianjin’s political circles.
Zhou Chengtao’s rise within this sphere to beco a prominent figure was all thanks to Qi Jingsi’s indispensable support.
Otherwise, in the chaotic entertainnt industry, coupled with the despicable acts Zhou Chengtao committed, it would’ve been impossible for him to glide through these years so smoothly.
After getting out of the car, Qi Jingsi cast a grim glance at the sign of the T3 nightclub.
“These people have good taste in places. Conveniently, I’m coming here tonight to unwind, and they’ve showed up too.”
Zhou Chengtao grinned, “Tonight, let’s trap them like turtles in a jar.”
Last night, after Lin Yi had a word with Wu Chunhe, they took action to detain Zhou Chengtao.
But after being apprehended, Zhou Chengtao called Qi Jingsi, who imdiately rushed over that night.
To avoid revealing Lin Yi’s identity, Wu Chunhe used “brawling” as the official reason for arresting Zhou Chengtao. Hence, Zhou Chengtao didn’t think too much of it and wasn’t particularly concerned.
Once Qi Jingsi arrived, he leveraged his status to directly take Zhou Chengtao away.
Wu Chunhe had no room to object in front of him.
Even when Lin Yi spoke up, Wu Chunhe didn’t dare contradict Qi Jingsi.
“I’ve arranged the people for you. Wait here for now. As long as no lives are lost, do as you please.”
“Got it. Thanks, Young Master Qi,” Zhou Chengtao said.
“If I don’t break one of his legs tonight, I’ll stop calling myself Zhou!”
With a vicious expression, Zhou Chengtao, who had suffered repeated setbacks, couldn’t hold back anymore now that it was his turn to retaliate.
Qi Jingsi did not respond. After tidying up his clothes, he said nonchalantly:
“I’ll head in first. You all stay here and wait.”
“Alright, alright, we won’t disturb Young Master Qi then.”
Qi Jingsi walked inside on his own.
At that mont, Lin Yi and others were enjoying themselves with rounds of drinks, slightly drunk and giddy.
“Eh, look over there—that’s Young Master Qi, isn’t it?”
The exclamation prompted everyone in the nightclub to glance towards the entrance.
“It really is Young Master Qi! Didn’t expect him to co and have fun here tonight.”
“Whoa, tonight’s definitely worth it! Anywhere Young Master Qi goes, excitent is guaranteed—the night’s entertainnt won’t fall short!”
Qi Jingsi’s arrival stirred a wave of hushed discussions amongst the nightclub patrons. Even the loud music seed to tone down.
Many scantily clad won began to swarm towards Qi Jingsi, eager to cozy up to him and snag a drink.
“Who’s this Young Master Qi? Sure seems to command a lot of respect,” Lin Yi muttered. “Is he from your compound circle too?”
“Never seen him before,” Ning Che replied:
“Ever since we joined the Central Guards Brigade, we’ve rarely engaged in shady dealings or mingled with people from that crowd. But this guy does seem a bit unfamiliar.”
“Doesn’t seem like soone from the compound. Haven’t encountered him,” Qiu Yuluo chid in.
“If he’s not from the compound, that implies he’s probably not worth much,” Lin Yi remarked.
The two won nodded instinctively; this was a recognized fact within their circle.
In Zhong Hai, individuals like Qin Han, Liang Jinming, and Gao Zongyuan thrived on their families’ wealth and connections.
But when it ca to a place like Yanjing, they could only enjoy slight comfort. Rampant arrogance was out of reach.
With money but no background, one simply had to keep a low profile.
Under the adoration of the surrounding won, Qi Jingsi ascended to the second floor.
On the platform upstairs stood five or six people, both n and won. They sipped beer while observing the lively crowd below.
“You’re finally here. Been waiting for over an hour. Co, bring Young Master Qi a drink!”
The man speaking sported a crew cut. He held beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
His na was Li Shaoming, part of the sa circle as Qi Jingsi.
In Yanjing, nurous factions existed, complex and intertwined.
One faction consisted of Yanjing natives, like Liang Ruoxu, who ca from the compound background and carried an innate sense of superiority.
Then there were people like Qi Jingsi.
Their families possessed formidable power and influence, though not native to Yanjing.
Yet, for various reasons, they still held considerable sway in Yanjing. While not comparable to compound natives, they were certainly no pushovers.
At the bottom tier were the common second-generation wealthy.
They might be affluent, but lacking robust backgrounds, they were relegated to the lowest strata of the power hierarchy.
Each circle fiercely excluded those from weaker circles, maintaining their purity.
This wasn’t unique to Yanjing; the sa dynamics existed everywhere, albeit so in blatant forms, others subtly.
“Ran into so unexpected trouble. Just dealt with it,” Qi Jingsi replied nonchalantly, appearing indifferent to tonight’s events.
“Trouble?”
Li Shaoming scrutinized him. “Last night, you got called away during our drinks—is this about that?”
Qi Jingsi nodded, accepting the drink handed over by a nearby woman.
“Soone clueless butted heads with one of my n. Had to sort it out.”
“Who dares? Doesn’t understand the rules? Even trifled with your people?”
Qi Jingsi shrugged. “Heard he’s from the South. Used to be a hospital director. Beyond that, I’m not sure about him.”
“You’re kidding, right? A doctor dares to ss with your crew? Has a death wish?”
“That guy’s not simple. He’s got serious fighting skills. One man against twenty-sothing, and he still held his ground,” Qi Jingsi explained:
“Plus, his family’s tricky too. His father owns weapons, probably a local gang leader. Otherwise, I wouldn’t need to intervene personally.”
“With that background, I guess he’s got so bite,” Li Shaoming comnted.
“Have you lined up people to handle it?”
Qi Jingsi nodded. “I brought in the Liu siblings. With them handling it, nothing will go wrong.”
Li Shaoming’s expression shifted. “You’re pulling out the big guns for this?”
Both n hailed from Tianjin, and the Liu siblings Qi Jingsi referred to were top-tier enforcers in Tianjin.
Having served overseas prior to their return to Tianjin, the duo took less than half a year to crush the local bosses and ascend to the top spot in underground dealings.
However, the two lacked business acun, skilled only in brawling, which limited their network despite their strength. Otherwise, they would’ve dominated Tianjin entirely.
Qi Jingsi’s ability to enlist them was thanks to the Qi family’s protective aid, fostering their relationship.
“The entertainnt industry’s gotten too rowdy lately, with many stepping out of line,” Qi Jingsi said, sipping his beer nonchalantly:
“I want to scare them straight and teach them a lesson. Let them stick to the rules going forward.”
