There were countless questions swirling in Li Zhiyan’s mind, each more shocking than the last.

Ever since she had begun serving Lin Feng, she had believed she understood at least a fragnt of his capabilities.

But today, every word he spoke and every secret he revealed seed to shatter that fragile understanding.

Still, she did not interrupt.

This was not the ti. Nor was it her place.

So she lowered her eyes respectfully and remained silent, committing every word to mory.

"So what?" Lin Feng said calmly. "Yuyan crippled only those who deserved it. That’s nothing unusual in this day and age. They’re fortunate she didn’t kill them. If it were , I would have crippled every last one of them and made them all eunuchs. And that would still not be enough to make them pay for the many atrocities they did. Every debt has its creditor, every grievance has its source. Blood may dry, but the ledger of the soul never fades."

He smiled as he spoke, as if discussing sothing as trivial as the weather.

The casual cruelty in his tone did not co from bloodlust. It ca from indifference.

"..."

For once, Xia Xinghe found herself without an imdiate rebuttal.

She studied him carefully, trying to discern whether he was speaking in arrogance or simple logic. In truth, she could not completely deny his reasoning.

This world was not governed by morality. It was governed by strength.

In the vast expanse of the cultivation realm, clans were slaughtered overnight. Entire sects vanished without a trace.

Compared to such brutality, a handful of elders having their cultivation abolished was hardly worth raising an eyebrow.

If anything, Wang Yuyan had shown restraint.

The only reason this matter had beco complicated was because of politics.

The Nine Peaks Sword Sect had long attempted to maintain a permanent balance of power within Clear Moon City.

If one clan rose too quickly or fell too suddenly, it could create ripples that affected the entire region. Stability was valuable not because it was righteous, but because it was convenient.

And yet, even Xia Xinghe privately admitted that this so-called balance was flawed. It protected the powerful under the guise of order.

If the Chen Clan had truly oppressed others, then perhaps they had simply reaped what they sowed.

After a mont of silence, Xia Xinghe decided not to dwell on Wang Yuyan any further. That matter could be settled later.

What concerned her far more was the man sitting before her.

She took a slow breath, her sharp gaze locking onto Lin Feng.

"How about you, fellow Daoist?" she asked evenly. "Did you seize the body of the original Lin Feng... or did you rely encounter so extraordinary fortuitous opportunity recently?"

Her tone was calm, but her eyes were piercing.

In this world, such things were not impossible.

There were ancient experts who survived through soul possession, taking over the bodies of younger cultivators to continue their path.

There were also heaven-defying inheritances, hidden realms, and divine treasures capable of transforming a person overnight.

Both explanations were plausible.

But if it was simply a fortuitous encounter, then it would have to be unimaginably profound.

Lin Feng’s transformation in just two weeks was far too drastic.

His cultivation had advanced at an abnormal pace. His bearing had grown steady and commanding.

Even his gaze had changed... no longer carrying the youthful recklessness of before, but a depth that felt ancient and calculating.

It was not rely improvent.

It was rebirth.

Li Zhiyan’s heart tightened slightly when she heard the question. Though she kept her composure, her fingers unconsciously curled within her sleeves.

The living room grew silent.

Even the air seed to grow heavier as both won waited for Lin Feng’s answer.

"Do I look like so ancient old monster to you?" Lin Feng asked with a faint chuckle, raising a brow at Xia Xinghe. "Do I resemble an old fogey who has lived for thousands of years and seized a junior’s body to continue clinging to life?"

There was no anger in his tone. Only mild amusent.

"Of course I had a massive fortuitous encounter," he continued. "Before all this, I was rely a lowly teacher at Spirit Spring Academy. My cultivation was diocre. My reputation even more so. If I truly were so ancient being, would I have lived in such obscurity?"

His words were calm, logical.

He took a few slow breaths before he continued.

"Last week, I went to Hidden Crane Falls to seek enlightennt. I felt stagnant in my cultivation and was even unable to teach my students properly, so I thought perhaps imrsing myself in nature might grant so clarity. I stood at the cliff for hours, listening to the waterfall, contemplating the Grand Dao."

He paused slightly, as though recalling the mont.

"Then, on impulse, I jumped."

Li Zhiyan’s heart tightened.

Jumped?

"Deep within the waterfall," Lin Feng continued evenly, "beneath layers of crashing water and jagged stone, there was a narrow cavern. And inside that cavern, embedded within the rock face, I saw it."

His eyes narrowed faintly.

"A glowing stone. Pulsating with faint spiritual light."

Even Xia Xinghe’s expression shifted slightly at that description.

"The mont I laid eyes on it," Lin Feng said, "a powerful instinct surged within . It was not greed. It was not curiosity. It was... certainty."

He looked directly at them.

"It felt as if my very soul was telling that the object belonged to ."

The room had grown completely silent now.

"There was an intense compulsion to consu it," he admitted without embarrassnt. "And so I did. I listened to my intuition. I ate the glowing stone."

He spread his hands slightly.

"And here I am."

His voice lowered.

"After swallowing that stone, my body underwent a complete transformation. My ridians expanded. My spiritual sea surged. My perception sharpened. It was as though a shackle I never knew existed had been shattered."

He let out a quiet sigh.
