The three of them sat around a small, exquisitely carved wooden table, its polished surface reflecting the soft morning light that filtered through the windows.

Lin Feng took his seat last.

His movents were unhurried, each gesture smooth and composed, as though even the simple act of sitting carried a natural elegance.

The mont he settled down, Li Zhiyan stepped forward with quiet attentiveness.

Her sleeves brushed lightly against the table as she poured him a cup of freshly brewed tea, the faint fragrance of spiritual herbs rising in gentle curls of steam.

Lin Feng accepted the cup and took a slow, asured sip.

Without realizing it, Yun Luofeng mirrored him almost perfectly. Her fingers lifted her own teacup at the sa pace, her posture unconsciously imitating his refined bearing.

The warm liquid touched her lips, and only then did she notice the dryness in her throat.

Why is my mouth so dry all of a sudden? she wondered inwardly.

She swallowed and took another sip. Then another.

The sensation only grew stronger. It was as if she had been standing beneath a relentless sun for hours, her throat parched, her body craving moisture without her understanding why.

Her heart felt strangely warm, her breathing just a fraction uneven.

She raised the cup again, intending to take a larger drink...

...and nearly choked.

Lin Feng had looked at her.

Their eyes t.

It lasted no more than a heartbeat, yet in that single instant, Yun Luofeng felt as though her entire being had been seen through. His gaze was calm, steady, faintly amused.

There was no aggression in it, no impropriety, yet the quiet intensity within his eyes made her pulse skip.

She quickly lowered her head, unable to endure it any longer.

A rosy blush blood across her cheeks, spreading down to the tips of her ears.

Her fingers tightened slightly around the delicate porcelain cup as she tried to compose herself, but the warmth in her chest only intensified.

Across from her, Lin Feng’s smile deepened just a little.

He studied her without obvious scrutiny, his gaze gentle yet discerning.

Though only eighteen, Yun Luofeng already possessed the ethereal beauty of a fairy descended from the heavens.

Her features were exquisitely balanced, each line soft yet distinct, as though painted with careful strokes by a master artist.

There was still a trace of youthful innocence about her, especially in the way her eyes shone so openly.

Yet her figure had long since matured into graceful proportions, her posture naturally elegant even when flustered.

Her long hair frad her delicate face, accentuating the faint flush that now colored her skin.

Her lips were naturally red, like petals brushed by morning dew, and the vibrant vitality radiating from her made her presence impossible to ignore.

Under his steady gaze, she felt as though the air around her had grown heavier.

Her heartbeat pounded in her ears.

Why does he feel so different up close? she thought helplessly.

Even sitting quietly across from him, doing nothing more than sharing tea, she felt as though she were being drawn into an invisible current.

The world around them seed to fade slightly, leaving only the soft clink of porcelain and the quiet rhythm of her racing heart.

She dared not look up again.

Yet despite her embarrassnt, a small part of her wished he would continue looking at her just a little longer.

Luckily for Yun Luofeng, her master chose that very mont to step in and rescue her from her flustered state.

Xia Xinghe did not waste ti on pleasantries nor mince with words.

"Fellow Daoist Lin Feng, my na is Xia Xinghe, and this is my disciple, Yun Luofeng. You are correct. We are from the Nine Peaks Sword Sect. We have reason to believe that you played a role in Wang Yuyan’s sudden rise in strength and cultivation."

Her tone was steady and direct, neither hostile nor friendly, but carrying the sharp edge of soone accustod to speaking plainly.

Yun Luofeng silently let out a breath of relief, grateful for the shift in focus.

Lin Feng set his teacup down lightly, the porcelain touching the table with a soft click.

"And what if I did?" he replied calmly. "I am a teacher, and Yuyan is my student. It is my responsibility to guide her growth. Strength is not rely about increasing one’s cultivation base. More importantly, she must learn how to bear the weight of that power and act responsibly."

Throughout his words, a faint smile rested on his handso face. It was not the cold, distant expression of an aloof genius, nor the arrogant sneer of soone flaunting superiority.

Instead, he appeared approachable and refined, as though he were simply discussing an ordinary matter over tea.

Yet that very ease unsettled Xia Xinghe.

In the corner of the room, Li Zhiyan frowned slightly.

She knew Wang Yuyan. To her knowledge, the girl had only reached the tenth stage of the Body Refining Realm.

For such a person to experience a sudden leap significant enough to attract the attention of the Nine Peaks Sword Sect was no small matter.

How did I not know about this? Li Zhiyan wondered.

Unable to contain her curiosity, Li Zhiyan subtly craned her neck forward, careful not to draw attention to herself. She did not want to miss a single word of the conversation.

The air in the room grew faintly heavier, the earlier warmth replaced by a quiet tension that lingered between host and guests.

Li Zhiyan was not wrong to feel uneasy.

Her mind nearly exploded when the next piece of information left Xia Xinghe’s lips.

"Your student, Wang Yuyan, has already used her newfound strength," Xia Xinghe said calmly, her eyes fixed on Lin Feng. "She forced the Chen Clan to kneel and even crippled several of their core mbers."

The words fell like thunder in the quiet room.

Crippled several of their core mbers?

"Is Wang Yuyan the one who..." Li Zhiyan’s thoughts halted abruptly.

Her mind froze mid sentence, unable to finish what her heart was already beginning to suspect. The implications were too heavy, too absurd to accept so easily.
