And because of that, Yun Wanqing could not help but speak up now. The last thing she wanted... was for Qin Ran to follow the sa path.

"Oh?" Qin Ran let out a soft chuckle, her smile deepening slightly, though her expression remained composed. "Now I’m even more intrigued by this man, Lin Feng."

There was no alarm in her reaction. No hesitation. Only curiosity. In fact, Yun Wanqing’s warning seed to have the opposite effect, piquing her interest even further.

Her gaze finally shifted away from the two veiled won and landed on Lin Feng. For the first ti since entering the hall, she truly looked at him. And what she saw... was unexpected.

Lin Feng remained seated, his posture relaxed, one hand resting casually as if he were simply enjoying the banquet.

There was no tension in his body, no sign of vigilance, no indication that he felt threatened in the slightest. If anything... He looked entertained.

Like a man watching a play unfold before him, one that required no effort on his part.

The tension in the hall, the shifting expressions of the elders, the silent panic of the Ning Clan, the warnings, the probing... none of it seed to affect him. He did not interrupt. He did not defend himself.

He did not even bother to speak. That calmness... was more unsettling than any display of power.

For a brief mont, even Qin Ran’s eyes flickered with deeper interest. This was not arrogance.

This was sothing else. A kind of confidence that did not need to be proven. Around them, the hall remained completely silent. No one dared to speak. No one dared to interrupt.

The earlier celebration now felt like a distant mory, replaced entirely by the invisible tension gathering at the center of the room.

When Lin Feng finally looked up, their gazes t and neither of them looked away. It was not a simple exchange of glances. There was no overt hostility, yet no trace of friendliness either.

Beneath that calm surface, sothing unseen was unfolding. It was as if both of them were silently probing, testing the other’s depth without uttering a single word.

The pressure in the hall obviously intensified. So of the weaker cultivators even felt their breathing grow heavier, though neither Lin Feng nor Qin Ran had released any spiritual pressure.

It was purely the result of their presence... and the invisible clash between them. Ti seed to stretch. One second felt like ten. Then, at last... Lin Feng moved.

The change was so natural that it almost broke the tension instantly. He reached out toward the table, his movents unhurried, as though the mont before had been nothing more than a casual pause.

His fingers brushed against the teapot, and for a brief mont, many assud he would pour tea as a gesture of courtesy befitting the situation.

After all, no matter how tense things were, formalities still mattered in such gatherings. But then... His hand changed direction. Instead of lifting the teapot, he picked up the jug of liquor.

A faint pause spread through the hall as people noticed the big difference. And then, without hesitation, Lin Feng tilted the jug and poured.

Clear liquor flowed smoothly into the teacup, filling it to the brim without spilling a single drop. The faint aroma of alcohol quickly replaced the delicate fragrance of tea that had previously lingered in the air.

The act itself was simple. Yet the aning behind it was anything but.

Back on Earth, such a gesture could easily be seen as improper, even provocative depending on the context. Offering strong liquor in place of tea, especially in a formal setting, was far from polite.

But Lin Feng did not care. Qin Ran had co here with purpose which was most likely for Fang Yuan. And if that was the case, then there was no need for empty formalities.

If anything, he preferred sothing more direct. More... interesting.

Rather than exchanging polite words over mild tea, he chose sothing stronger and sothing that matched the undercurrent between them. Once the cup was filled, Lin Feng lifted it slightly.

His movents were steady, controlled, completely unbothered by the countless eyes watching him.

"Please, sit, Elder Qin Ran," he said.

His tone was calm, almost casual, as though he were inviting an old acquaintance rather than confronting a powerful figure from a major sect. He extended the cup toward her.

A simple gesture. Yet within it lay layers of aning. An invitation. A test. Perhaps even a quiet challenge. Around them, no one dared to speak.

The Ning Clan elders held their breath, their earlier fears intensifying.

So of them could already feel cold sweat forming along their backs. This was no longer just a tense eting and it was sothing far more unpredictable and terrifying.

Even the won at Lin Feng’s table remained silent, their attention fixed on Qin Ran’s reaction. Because now... Everything depended on how she would respond.

The answer to that question... would determine what happened next.

"You seem to lack proper manners for a young master of an ancient clan. Tell , which clan do you belong to?" Qin Ran asked.

Despite her words, she still moved and took a seat. Her movents were calm and unhurried as she accepted the cup in front of her and drank it in one smooth motion, emptying it completely.

Lin Feng smiled faintly and, without hesitation, refilled her cup once more.

"I am from the Lin Clan, of course," Lin Feng replied, giving the sa answer he had offered to the Ning Clan elders earlier. Qin Ran’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"The Lin clan?" The na lingered in her mind.

She quickly searched through her mories, recalling every ancient lineage she had encountered throughout her long years of travel across the Azure Heaven Continent.

Yet after a brief mont of contemplation, she ca to a conclusion. She had never heard of an ancient clan called the Lin Clan.
