That alone was enough to stir trouble but the old man wasn’t finished.

"As such..." he continued, his voice growing weaker, "the Pavilion demands that you compensate for the damages... or obtain an official certification from them, granting you the right to practice legitimate healing within the Golden Lotus Empire."

By the ti he finished, his back was already damp with cold sweat.

Silence fell.

The old man shut his eyes tightly, his body stiffening as if turned to stone.

His breathing beca shallow, almost nonexistent, as he stood there waiting... no, bracing for what would co next.

In his mind, countless possibilities flashed by, none of them good.

He had seen powerful figures lose their lives over far less.

And the man standing before him... was not soone ordinary.

The re fact that flying boats had begun arriving one after another for him was enough to prove that.

The crowd, too, seed to realize the gravity of the situation.

Monts ago, they had been whispering excitedly. Now, not a single person dared to make a sound.

All eyes were on Lin Feng.

And the old man... could only wait for judgnt to fall.

If I die here, I’m going to curse you, Manager Zhao... I hope you can never get it up again! the old man howled inwardly, his heart filled with bitterness and despair.

By now, he was absolutely certain of his fate.

On this continent, young masters from powerful clans were notorious.

Arrogant, temperantal, and utterly indifferent to the lives of others, they ruled through strength and status alone.

Countless people had offended them by accident only to vanish without a trace the very next day.

To the old man, Lin Feng fit perfectly into that terrifying mold.

That was why, before boarding the flying boat, he had already said his goodbyes.

His wife... his children... even the few friends he had left.

In his mind, this was a one-way trip.

One breath passed.

Then another.

The silence stretched, thick and suffocating.

The old man stood there with his eyes tightly shut, his entire body rigid, as if bracing for the mont his life would end.

He could almost imagine it... the flash of movent, the sharp pain, and then... nothing.

But that mont never ca.

Ten breaths passed.

Fifteen.

Nearly two dozen breaths later, he was still standing there... alive.

His brows twitched in confusion.

Slowly, cautiously, he cracked one eye open, as if afraid that even the smallest movent might trigger his doom.

What he saw left him completely stunned.

Lin Feng hadn’t moved at all.

He still stood where he was, calm and composed, his hands behind his back.

There was no killing intent, no sign of anger... only a faint look of contemplation, as though he were thinking about sothing entirely unrelated.

"This is bad!" the old man scread inwardly, panic flaring up all over again.

He must be thinking of a more refined way to kill ! Sothing slow... sothing painful!

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he beca.

Terrified by his own imagination, the old man imdiately shut his eyes again and bowed even deeper, his back nearly parallel to the ground.

If death was inevitable... then at the very least, he would et it in the most respectful posture possible.

The surrounding crowd held their breath.

No one dared to speak.

Even the wind seed to quiet down, as if unwilling to disturb the tense atmosphere.

All eyes were fixed on Lin Feng.

Yet none of them could possibly guess what was truly going on in his mind.

Well... this isn’t entirely a bad developnt, Lin Feng thought to himself, completely unfazed by the old man’s trembling figure.

A faint glint of interest appeared in his eyes.

Since the opportunity has presented itself, I might as well take a look and travel and have fun.

To him, what others saw as a threat... was nothing more than an invitation.

After all, he had never been one to avoid trouble especially when it ca with potential benefits.

His gaze shifted slightly, finally landing on the old man who was still bowing as if his life depended on it.

Only then did Lin Feng speak.

"Where can I obtain this official certification?" he asked calmly.

His voice wasn’t loud, yet it echoed clearly in the silent surroundings.

The question itself stunned everyone present.

The old man, who had been ntally preparing for death, froze completely.

His mind went blank for a mont, unable to process what he had just heard.

Did... did he just ask about the certification?

Slowly, he lifted his head, his eyes filled with disbelief as he looked at Lin Feng.

He... wasn’t angry?

He... wasn’t going to kill him?

For a brief mont, the old man even wondered if he had misheard.

But Lin Feng’s calm expression told him otherwise.

The man before him had not only accepted the ssage...

He was actually considering it.

"You only need to follow , Young Master Lin Feng," the old man said quickly, his tone now filled with relief and eagerness.

"I will personally guide you to the nearest dicine Pavilion. With your unparalleled skill in the healing arts, obtaining the official certification will be effortless... you could pass it with your eyes closed and one hand tied behind your back."

The words flowed far more smoothly this ti, no longer broken by fear.

The old man’s face even showed a faint, flattering smile, as if he were trying to make up for his earlier hesitation.

In truth, he was simply overjoyed to still be alive.

Monts ago, he had been certain his life would end here.

Now, not only had he survived, but Lin Feng was actually willing to cooperate.

To him, this was nothing short of a miracle.

Lin Feng gave a small, indifferent nod, neither accepting nor rejecting the praise.

Whether the certification was easy or not didn’t matter to him.

What interested him was the dicine Pavilion itself.

Without another word, he stepped toward the flying boat.
