....

I am the bone of my salt.

Black Key is my body, and sodium is my blood.

I have created over a thousand rolls.

Unknown to luck, nor known to gacha.

I have withstood pain to create many Saint Quartz.

Yet, these hands will never hold an SSR.

So, as I pray—

Unlimited Salt Works.

~Gudako?

...

Macchiato truly felt... like a dragon right now.

A dragon consud by endless greed for treasure.

Ever since Macchiato had crawled into the collection room, her mind had been filled with one thought after another.

Mine! It's all mine! Hehehehe! These treasures are all mine!

Just as Macchiato had imagined, the collection room was filled with many small drawers, cubbies, and treasure chests waiting for her to search. Or rather, waiting for her to experience the thrill of gacha pulls and scratch cards.

Macchiato was like soone possessed, opening drawers, boxes, and small wooden compartnts again and again, eagerly waiting for the gray mist covering them to disperse so she could see what treasures she had pulled.

The pleasure of rolling gacha was exactly that addictive, and the most addictive part was that every single pull had so use.

"Searching..." Ding!

[Spatial Orb, Small, Quality: Epic, Value: 8400, Use: Increases backpack capacity by three slots. Can also be used to unlock hideout buildings.]

[Threaded Nail, Quality: Common, Value: 10, Use: Basic material for hideout construction.]

"Yes! Another good drop!"

Macchiato put the Spatial Orb into her backpack. She had already found quite a few treasures that could expand her inventory.

There were brooches, rings, tags, and so on, but only two of these accessories could be equipped at a ti, and so equipnt had a requirent called "Energy Supply."

For example, the Spatial Orb consud two points of Energy Supply.

These were all stats that required upgrading the hideout to unlock and increase.

But as Macchiato watched her backpack capacity grow from the initial five slots to twenty-five slots after a nonstop looting spree and several equipped items, she was beyond happy.

It turned out human happiness could be this simple.

Macchiato felt like she could keep looting for a lifeti.

She could stare at that spinning, scratch-card-like interface all night, getting so excited by the "ding" of a drop that she would not be able to sleep.

Just as Macchiato was focused on looting, a Super Chat from her livestream suddenly interrupted her thoughts.

"Strear! Stop looting! Turn around, quick! The statue behind you moved!"

This Super Chat had been sent by a paying viewer, so the notification sound was especially distinct.

"The statue moved? Do you think I'm that easy to scare?"

Macchiato turned around, only to find... at so point, the collection room had filled with statues.

There were statues of n, won, knights, and angels.

"When I ca in... were there this many statues here?"

Macchiato walked up to a knight statue and cautiously tried to pry the sword from its hand, but it would not budge.

Soon, another Super Chat popped up.

"Macchiato! I'm begging you, run! The lady statue behind you moved again! It's already right behind you!"

Livestreams in Elysium were all done through a third-person cara. Of course, the stream could be switched to first-person, but third-person was still the most entertaining way to broadcast.

"How could a statue possibly move..."

Macchiato thought the chat was ssing with her, but when she looked back... the lady statue that should have been standing in the corner was now right in front of her.

And the statue's face had twisted into that of a hideous banshee. Its stone lips had split open, revealing sharp teeth that looked ready to swallow her whole.

"Waaaah!"

Macchiato was instantly terrified and bolted without looking back. Behind her, a series of heavy footsteps began to echo through the collection room.

Clearly, that group of statue monsters was chasing her.

In her frantic, aimless flight, she saw Ryan, who was holding a large pile of treasures and preparing to head back to the airship.

"Ryan! Monsters! Monsters are coming! Help, help, help!"

Macchiato no longer cared about her dignity as a female strear and tried to rush toward Ryan for help.

As it turned out, before Ryan even had ti to put out the cigarette in his mouth, he glanced at the treasures in his hands, then at the horde of statue monsters chasing Macchiato. Although they did not move while he was looking at them... after taking a deep drag of his cigarette, he still slamd the nearby door shut!

"You... how can you be so selfish? Aaaaah!! Help ! Help !"

Macchiato rushed to the door and kept pounding on it, but it was useless.

Fortunately, a lifesaving voice rang out beside her at that mont.

"Lady Macchiato! This way!"

It was the voice of Hasumi, a character she had always looked down on.

But now, to Macchiato's ears, it sounded like heavenly music.

Hasumi! My hero!

Macchiato imdiately rushed into the room where Hasumi was, and Hasumi slamd the door shut at once.

Outside the room, those statue monsters instantly began pounding on the door. Bang, bang, bang! The wooden door would not hold for long.

"Lady Macchiato! There is an elevator over there! If you take it, you can reach the manor's exit!" Hasumi said, pressing her body firmly against the door.

"Then what about you?"

Macchiato realized that Hasumi was about to make the ultimate sacrifice.

"I am your knight, Lady Macchiato... My duty is to protect you. Go, quickly!"

Even in such a desperate situation, Hasumi answered with perfect composure.

"Ugh... I... I'll definitely buy twenty more ninety-dollar packs for you when I get back!"

Macchiato held back her tears, clutched the pile of treasures she had looted, and boarded the manor's ancient elevator to escape.

But Hasumi had no intention of dying here. She had actually prepared an escape route long ago.

After Macchiato took the elevator to the upper floors, Hasumi made a desperate leap into the elevator shaft, landing on the manor's second basent level with agile movents.

This seed to be the manor's cellar. Hasumi lit a torch and cautiously explored her surroundings. Soon...

"Lady Crimson Night..."

She found Crimson Night's corpse here. The gold coins on her person had spilled everywhere, and her death looked quite grueso.

Just then, a dark shadow flashed past.

Hasumi imdiately raised her torch toward the direction where the shadow had gone.

"Who's there?!"

"I told her not to go alone, but unfortunately, I was a step too late. On the other hand, are you alright, Hasumi?"

A voice that could perhaps bring the greatest peace of mind to everyone present ca through the darkness. The figure stepping out from the shadows was none other than Kyo.

"So it is Lord Kyo."

After breathing a sigh of relief, Hasumi knelt down to check Crimson Night's belongings, finding useful items such as an alchemical communicator and a map of the manor.

anwhile, on the other side, Macchiato successfully returned to the Alchemical Airship thanks to Hasumi's ultimate sacrifice.

She collapsed to her knees on the floor, swearing that this was absolutely the most thrilling and interesting ga she had ever played in her life.

But after catching her breath, she hurriedly asked Carl.

"What about Hasumi? Can soone tell if Hasumi is okay?" Macchiato asked.

"You can watch the official livestream of Descent into Netherworld Village. It happens to be showing Hasumi's perspective right now." Carl took the opportunity to plug the official stream.

Macchiato quickly opened her browser to check the official livestream. In the stream footage, Hasumi was exploring the manor's second basent level together with Kyo.

"It's good that she's okay, and she even t up with the Great Kyo. Her safety is definitely guaranteed now." Macchiato felt relieved at the thought.

Suddenly... a voice rang out unexpectedly on the airship.

"Together with who? I ca back a long ti ago to wait for extraction," Kyo asked.

"...?!"

Looking at Kyo sitting on the airship, Macchiato's hair stood on end, and her back was instantly drenched in cold sweat. She felt like she would not be able to sleep at all tonight.
