Macchiato glanced at her livestream chat at that mont.
She discovered that her concurrent viewer count had actually broken the 100,000 mark.
This was a level of popularity she had not even dared to dream of in the past.
Although it still could not compare to the million-viewer count of the official Oath stream, the audience engagent in her livestream was still extrely high. There were over ten paid Super Chats alone, to the point where Macchiato could barely keep up with them.
"Is that thing next to Hasumi a monster?"
"It looks like so kind of Mimic! Macchiato, hurry and save Hasumi! It feels like she won't last much longer!"
"To be honest, rather than seeing her saved, I actually want to see Hasumi crying from being scared right now."
"What do you an you want to see her cry? Don't worry! I'll definitely save her."
As she spoke, Macchiato was already checking her inventory and the number of survivors aboard the airship.
Currently, only Crimson Night had died. Mio, Irene, Macchiato, Kyo, and Ryan had all returned safely to the airship.
To Carl, the most rational decision right now was... to just cut their losses and leave.
Losing two people was better than a total party wipe, where all gathered resources would be cleared.
"We should still save her, right? It'll be safer if everyone deposits the resources they gathered on the airship first," Mio suggested, and her proposal was imdiately t with unanimous agreent from everyone present.
After all... everyone was just playing a ga. It was not like they had been forced into so desperate situation where death was permanent.
When playing gas, you should definitely do whatever makes you happy.
"I agree with going back to save her, but Shopkeeper Carl."
As Ryan spoke, he dumped all the resources from his backpack onto the airship, leaving only the items that could boost his stats, before speaking to Carl.
"As our guide, you have a responsibility to explain the monster types in the manor, right? Let's not die without even knowing what hit us."
Carl did not hide anything either. After all, players would master the traits of all the monsters after a few rounds, so he began the explanation directly.
"Currently, the following monster types can appear in the manor. You've already encountered the Statues, so I won't explain those in detail."
"Enderman: Do not make eye contact with it. Otherwise, it will be provoked and attack imdiately."
"Sound-Seeking Hound: It basically only wanders around the outskirts of the manor and only reacts to sound. If you encounter it, just don't speak."
"Little Girl: If you return to the airship imdiately after seeing her, there will be no problem. But if you stay out too long, you will suffer an irreversible death."
"And... Mimic. This monster imitates the appearance and behavior of a single player. It will attack when players are about to leave an area, such as a cellar, or when its identity is exposed. At all other tis, it is safe."
Like a competent butler, Carl introduced the most common monster types players would encounter in Descent into Netherworld Village.
"Mimics can be killed, provided you have weapons."
"Also, one final warning. You've already stayed here for over half an hour. The number of monster spawns will increase over ti."
"The manor is now... very dangerous!"
"Dangerous? It's fine. We just grab so weapons and kill that Mimic next to Hasumi, right? Got it!" Ryan said.
Under Ryan's organization, the "Save Hasumi" squad picked up the weapons they had found so far, shovels, clubs, and wrenches, then set off on the journey to rescue Hasumi.
On Hasumi's side, after she gathered all of Crimson Night's belongings and put them in her backpack, she began looking for a way out.
"Lord Kyo, please stay close to ! I know the terrain around here and can lead you out soon!"
Hasumi's tone carried its usual smug confidence.
She knew very well that this horror ga was a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.
After players lost their extraordinary powers, their reliance on her in this dark space full of monsters would be amplified almost without limit.
And Hasumi had already scouted the manor once beforehand with Carl's help.
So although the structure of the manor was as complex as a maze, she could still lead the players out like a reliable guide.
Look! Even Kyo, normally the strongest player in Oath, needed to rely on her to move forward in the dark.
And she was currently carrying the loot of the second-strongest player, Crimson Night. Once she took this loot out and returned it to Crimson Night...
Hasumi could already imagine Crimson Night praising her.
Yes! Hasumi wanted to use this opportunity, playing a horror ga with the players, to make them all completely dependent on her.
After the players were driven into corners by various monsters, she would descend like a hero again and again to save them... It probably would not be long before the players started addressing her with an honorific and calling her "Lady Hasumi," right?
Even calling her "Mama Hasumi" would be fine!
Just as Hasumi was leading the way with a sowhat silly smile on her face due to her fantasies, the alchemical communicator at her waist, which belonged to Crimson Night, suddenly crackled with static.
Hasumi picked up the communicator at her waist and pressed the listen button. Soon, Ryan's voice ca through.
"Hasumi, stop heading for the exit! Stay in the cellar area for now."
Ryan was clearly watching the official Descent into Netherworld Village stream. The cara was currently focused on Hasumi.
"So it is Lord Ryan. Are you also trapped in the cellar? It's fine. Tell your approximate location and what the surroundings look like. I can find you imdiately!"
While Hasumi was boasting about her knowledge of the manor map, Ryan hurriedly warned her.
"No! It's the monster following you. Its chanic is that it will attack you the mont you leave your current area! Just stay there and wait! Wait... does saying that expose the monster's identity?" Ryan realized he had said a bit too much.
"Monster?"
Hasumi looked back at the "Kyo" following her with so confusion and asked.
"I don't see any monsters. I only have Lord Kyo with . Is there so kind of invisible monster?"
However... in the next second, Kyo's voice ca through the communicator.
"I returned to the airship fifteen minutes ago. The one next to you can't be ."
The person behind is not Lord Kyo? Then who is it?!
Hasumi turned her head back again with lightning speed, looking at the "Kyo" behind her, and tentatively asked once more.
"Lord Kyo?"
And that "Kyo" still had a sowhat stiff smile on his face, then said sothing that left Hasumi stunned.
"I told her not to go alone, but unfortunately, I was still a step too late. On the other hand, are you okay, Hasumi?"
"I'm fine, wait! Isn't that what you just said, Lord Kyo?" Hasumi reacted instantly. This was what he had said when she first encountered this "Kyo."
Then...
"I-I told her not to go alone, but unfortunately, I was still a step too late. On the other hand, are you okay, Hasumi?"
"Un-un-un-unfortunately, I was still a step too late. On the other hand, are you o-o-o-okay... Ha-ha-ha-ha-Hasumi."
This "Kyo" kept repeating the sa sentence like a malfunctioning machine, and even his voice took on a warped, distorted quality.
Then, in the next second, his head snapped to a ninety-degree angle, and his mouth opened impossibly wide as he lunged to bite Hasumi.
"Run, quickly!" Ryan's shout ca through the communicator.
"Waaa!!"
Hasumi almost scread in terror, but she held it in to preserve her image, then imdiately took off at full speed.
And the Mimic behind Hasumi naturally pursued her with terrifying speed, constantly repeating the words from when they first t.
While running, Hasumi looked back and saw that the Mimic had grown extra arms and legs, racing along the walls like a spider.
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry! So many Lord Saviors are watching! Even if I'm running away, I must maintain an elegant and brave posture!
Forcing back the tears in her eyes, Hasumi ran all the way into a room on one side of the corridor, ducking inside in a panic.
But it was not long before the door was smashed open. The Mimic crawled onto the ceiling, its head stretching down like a snake as it scanned the surroundings.
"Ugh..."
Hasumi realized she had nowhere left to run. She covered her mouth and held her breath, lowering her presence as much as she could.
Perhaps due to extre luck, the Mimic searched the room for a while, then left.
Hasumi let out a long sigh of relief. Just as she relaxed and placed her hands on the floor, she felt herself touch sothing fleshy.
Hasumi looked back and found a bizarre creature hidden entirely in the shadows, with only two glowing eyes visible, crouching beside her the whole ti.
No hiding here!
If Hasumi had not looked at it, it would have been fine. The problem was that once Hasumi made eye contact with it, the chase began.
The Enderman let out an unnatural roar. What else could Hasumi do? Before she could even catch her breath, she stood up with a sob and continued running.
"Why did I co here?! Waaaah!"
After two consecutive scares, Hasumi let out one strange, broken scream after another.
She ran around blindly in a panic, and as a result, all the monsters in the entire manor were alerted.
(To be continued.)
