"Why do I feel like I can never get the upper hand whenever I talk to you?"

While replying, Anan also sent a helpless facepalm emoji.

"So, Miss Anan, do you have any plans to join our Netherworld Village?" Carl invited Anan once again.

"I've said this before. We are public officials. Protecting the City of Glory and the Holy Nation is our duty. The mbers under my command also have family and friends in the Holy Nation. This is not sothing we can simply defect from."

"Although the antidote provided by the Academy Director cannot cure us, it has indeed successfully treated the vast majority of citizens in the Holy Nation and the Empire who only had mild symptoms."

Our ga characters have their own lives too.

Those words truly fit Anan perfectly.

The Abyssal Knights were almost entirely native characters of Elysium, aning their lives had not been fabricated by Oath's designers.

Instead, they were natives born on this land. Naturally, these exceptionally outstanding natives had the potential to enter the gacha pool in the future.

In any case, Carl was certain that, unless sothing unexpected happened, she would definitely beco the strongest featured character in Oath Version 2.0.

"But the treatnt effect that the Villager Saviors have on my mbers' symptoms is indeed excellent. anwhile, the extermination order that the Academy Director is about to issue will completely cut off the possibility of that treatnt," Anan replied.

Carl actually wanted to say that she only needed to secretly send people to Netherworld Village and have them absorb the emotional antidote from the players.

But given Anan's personality, she was the type who would not accept benefits she had not earned. She probably could not bring herself to do it.

"I accept your previous proposal. We will use shapeshifting potions to transform the knights under my command into different forms, then allow the Villager Saviors to... what was the term again?"

"Collect them, and stimulate the players' desire to collect."

Carl briefly explained the fun of this gaplay to Anan again.

"Recruiting ordinary humans is too boring for players. But what if they can recruit monsters with different forms and traits? For many players, even filling out the archive alone is already peak gaplay."

"Yes! That's it! I will have my knights transform into all kinds of monsters for the Villager players to collect. This will also hide their identities. However, there is one condition attached to this authorization."

Anan directly stated her current demand to Carl.

"All of this will be ti-limited. I cannot guarantee how long my mbers can stay with those Villager players. If you can accept that, I will loan my knights to you," Anan said.

Carl briefly reviewed Anan's current situation.

Originally, under the stealth chanic Carl had designed, the Abyssal Knights could happily feast on the joyful emotions overflowing from the Villager players.

But the Academy Director would soon issue an extermination order against the Villager players.

Even if Anan refused to obey the order, the Academy Director could still find another knight order from the Empire or the Holy Nation and send them to hunt down those little rats across the entire map.

So Anan could only loan her knight order mbers to Carl as temporary monster assets, saving her country in a more roundabout way.

"Of course. I will inform the players that this gaplay is ti-limited. But as long as the players are satisfied, even ti-limited gaplay can eventually beco permanent."

After replying to this ssage, Carl sent over the large amount of monster settings, abilities, habits, and other materials he had prepared in advance.

He also sent Anan the gaplay concepts and instructions explaining how the Abyssal Knights should interact with players after transforming into monsters.

After Carl finished communicating with Anan, he turned his gaze back to Vengeful Blood, who was still hiding near the edge of the map.

Coincidentally, Vengeful Blood's ntality collapsed at that exact mont.

Vengeful Blood had been nervously scavenging along the edge of the map for half an hour.

Just as she was about to extract with her pile of low-value loot, she ran into an Oath main-ga squad sweeping the map, and they slaughtered her like a stray dog.

After killing her, one of the players in that squad even left her with a parting line.

"Treating a pile of trash like treasure. Filthy little rat."

"Raaagh!! I can't take it anymore!"

After Vengeful Blood returned to her hideout, her rage ter was completely maxed out. She wanted to switch back to her main character and launch a fierce counterattack.

But she also seed unwilling to give up.

She spent a long ti rummaging through the Omnisynthesizer in the hideout, trying to find a way to kill the main-ga Oath players.

Unfortunately, there was no such thod.

It was not that Carl did not want to provide one. At this stage, Carl simply could not create weapons capable of breaking through the defenses of main-ga players.

To put it bluntly, there was not enough Data Volu.

The average Data Volu of a main-ga Oath player was around fifteen thousand, while a Villager player reaching one or two thousand Data Volu was already pushing the limit.

In the end, the furious Vengeful Blood ran straight to Carl and asked him directly.

"Is this the limit of the Villager character's performance? They have no way to fight back against main-ga players, can only rely on items to escape, and sotis they can't even get away."

For a player like Vengeful Blood, who was used to aggressive playstyles, being forced to hide was already bad enough.

A playstyle where she would be stomped to death the mont she was discovered was simply unbearable.

Unlike veterans like Kyo and Ryan, who relied on flash grenades, short-range teleportation devices, and various tools to actively provoke main-ga players and kite them around the map, Vengeful Blood was clearly not suited to playing that way.

It could only be said that their mindsets toward the ga were completely different.

"Descent into Netherworld Village has naturally prepared thods of resistance for later updates, but since it is still in the testing phase, are you sure you want to try it early, Miss Player?" Carl said.

Carl's tone already sounded sowhat like he was making a deal with the devil.

But Vengeful Blood was in no mood to appreciate the gloominess in Carl's voice right now.

"Testing? Why not just implent it directly?"

Vengeful Blood was now so angry that she placed both hands on Carl's shoulders.

Then she realized that her current character was shorter than Carl.

This made her even angrier, so she dragged over a box, stood on it, and finally created the intimidating effect of looking down at him.

"Because of insufficient resources and malicious competition from rival developers, this gaplay is currently very unstable."

Carl did not mind Vengeful Blood's attempt to assert dominance and continued introducing it with a smile.

"If you can accept this ti-limited gaplay, without knowing when it might suddenly go offline, I will implent it for you."

"As long as it lets damage main-ga players, then implent it already! I don't care whether it's ti-limited or whatever!"

"Climbing the ladder is what matters most! Once the Trial of Glory is over, I'm not coming back here anyway!" Vengeful Blood said.

"Understood."

As Carl spoke, a user agreent suddenly floated in front of Vengeful Blood.

[Descent into Netherworld Village DLC: Pokémon]

Vengeful Blood briefly skimd a few lines of the agreent.

It roughly stated that this DLC was currently extrely unstable and could go offline at any ti.

However, any resources consud by the player within this DLC would be refunded when it went offline, and so on.

Heh, resource refunds. Pretty generous.

Vengeful Blood directly accepted the user agreent and activated the DLC nad Pokémon.

"All right. Now, Miss Player, please accept this Initial Poké Card."

As Carl spoke, he handed a card to Vengeful Blood.

[Poké Card: Silly Cat. Description: A card that houses the contract spirit, Silly Cat. You can summon Silly Cat to fight for you at any ti. Silly Cat has multiple upgrade paths. Current attribute bonus: doubles your inventory slots.]

"Isn't this just pet-raising gaplay?"

After taking the card, Vengeful Blood gave it a gentle wave, and Silly Cat, played by Sophia, appeared beside her.

"I've been waiting for you for ages, ow!"

Since this was Vengeful Blood's Sophia, she greeted Vengeful Blood with great enthusiasm and familiarity as soon as she appeared.

"It should be called pet-catching gaplay. You can now enter the Trial of Glory and, by consuming various specific materials, form contracts with all the monsters inside."

As Carl spoke, he handed a stack of blank Poké Cards to Vengeful Blood.

"Wait a minute. You an I can use all those powerful bosses in the Trial of Glory for myself, just like this Silly Cat?"

The instant Vengeful Blood heard about this gaplay, she felt as if her scalp were tingling.
