...

The powerful bosses in the Trial of Glory might look like they get one-shot by 6 5 players whenever those players feel like it, but plenty of players can tell they are just holding back.

If these bosses were actually placed in Extre Abyss, the strength they display after forty thousand points would basically be their true power. Even if a 6 5 player ca along, one tiny mistake would be enough to get them cut down in a single strike.

"Yes. But please bring enough supplies. The stronger the monster, the rarer the materials required to contract it," Carl said.

"Damn it, aaaaah!"

The mont Vengeful Blood heard this, she suddenly clutched her head in extre regret and shouted, completely losing her composure.

"Miss Player?" Carl did not know why Vengeful Blood had suddenly started acting crazy.

"Why didn't you introduce this gaplay earlier?!"

Vengeful Blood grabbed Carl by the collar and shook him relentlessly.

"If you'd brought this out earlier, I wouldn't have donated all those precious materials in my warehouse to the Church, aaaaah!"

"Speaking of which, you should be able to unlock a shared storage function between my main Oath warehouse and the Netherworld Village warehouse, right? You definitely can, right?"

At first, Vengeful Blood had tried to comfort herself by thinking that the main warehouses of the two gas were not connected, so there was no need to feel so conflicted.

But then.

"I can. I was just afraid that once Miss Player got access to the materials in her main warehouse, she would lose the motivation to grind, so I didn't ntion it," Carl said with a smile.

"But if Miss Player wants to use the materials from her main warehouse, I don't even need to unlock anything. Can't you just go back to the City of Glory and bring them here?"

Carl's words instantly made Vengeful Blood feel as if she had taken a critical hit. She clutched her chest, her heart aching so badly that she could hardly breathe.

She was still thinking about everything too much from a "ga" perspective.

That was right.

The pile of materials in her main Oath warehouse was sitting there, tangible and accessible. If she wanted them, she could just go back and get them.

But thinking about it that way made her previous decision to donate that huge pile of large red and small red Mythic-grade loot to the Church in exchange for Contract Stones and costics seem even more idiotic.

"You, just wait! I'm going back to the main ga!"

With extrely complicated feelings, Vengeful Blood made a trip to her main warehouse in the City of Glory and transported as many materials as possible to Netherworld Village.

Unfortunately, the number of materials she brought over was actually smaller than what she had stockpiled in Netherworld Village.

The main reason was that loot obtained in the main Oath ga could be handed over to the Church with one click in exchange for Contract Stones and outfit points. Other than that, it had no real use.

Every ti Vengeful Blood finished looting, she found sorting everything too troubleso and simply turned it all in with one click.

Vengeful Blood took stock of the pile of materials she had brought over.

They were basically all items she had kept for sentintal reasons or collection completion, ranging from various large red Mythic-grade items to common materials. There was basically one of each.

"This should be enough, right?"

Vengeful Blood calculated silently, unsure how many resources were required to contract those powerful monsters.

"If we're short on resources, we can just go loot more, ow!" Silly Cat encouraged Vengeful Blood at that mont.

Right.

If resources were lacking, just loot more.

But Vengeful Blood was already impatient to enter the map and catch a powerful boss as her pet.

"Heart of Oath, Glory Statue, Sacred Scepter. Is bringing this many Mythic-grade loot items at once a bit too risky? No, contracting a powerful boss and forming actual combat power cos first."

To avoid the awkward situation of finding a monster she wanted to contract but not having enough resources, Vengeful Blood stuffed all her large reds and Small Golds into her backpack.

With Silly Cat's ability doubling her backpack slots, she also brought along a large pile of survival items.

Just like that, Vengeful Blood started another round of Trial of Glory matchmaking.

She headed straight for the area near the Vault in the core zone of the Trial of Glory with Silly Cat and Carl.

"Your target right from the start is an Abyssal Knight?"

Carl and Vengeful Blood hid behind the broken window of a small hut, watching the Abyssal Knights guarding the warehouse in the distance.

He had not expected Vengeful Blood to aim directly for one of the powerful elite mobs in the Trial of Glory.

"It suits my taste better."

Vengeful Blood had actually wanted an Abyssal Knight outfit for a long ti.

That dark knight armor, combined with the oppressive crimson glow shining through the slits of the helt, perfectly matched her aesthetic.

Moreover, the Abyssal Knights were only heavily holding back in the Trial of Glory.

In this season's Extre Abyss, once the score reached forty thousand points, these Abyssal Knights really did cut players down left and right. They were ridiculously strong.

"By the way, how do I check how many materials are needed to contract one?" Vengeful Blood whispered to Carl.

"Just scan it with that blank Poké Card," Carl said, dutifully performing his role as a beginner guide.

"Let see..."

Vengeful Blood took out the blank Poké Card and scanned an Abyssal Knight.

[Abyssal Knight, Dual Swords.]

[Level: ??? Description: ?????]

[Estimated contract materials required: Heart of Oath x3, any Mythic-grade material x3, Abyss Statue x10, any Legendary-grade material x5.]

[Tip: After reducing its health and stamina, you can lower the resources required to contract this monster, but the monster's combat power will also decrease significantly. It can be restored later by consuming resources.]

"Three Hearts of Oath, plus three large reds and ten small red Abyss Statues? Why don't you just rob ? Wait, I already donated more than ten Hearts of Oath to the Church! Damn it, aaaaah!"

Thinking of this, Vengeful Blood once again let out a sharp cry of regret.

How could she have been stupid enough to trade such precious materials for worthless things like Contract Stones?

"Miss Player, if you lower the monster's health, or simply beat it into submission, the resources required to contract it will drop significantly."

Carl did not want to set such harsh contract requirents either.

But the scariest thing about extraction shooters was not failing to find loot, failing to win a fight, or failing to extract.

It was having nowhere aningful to spend your resources.

Simply stockpiling resources could bring pleasure, but giving all those stockpiled materials a purpose was the greatest joy of an extraction shooter.

These Contract Spirits were the primary resource sink for players who had already "graduated" from Descent into Netherworld Village.

"Beat it? Can I log into my main account?" Vengeful Blood asked Carl.

If she used her main account, she could kill these sandbagging Abyssal Knights whenever she wanted.

"I'm afraid not. This is gaplay exclusive to Descent into Netherworld Village," Carl said, shaking his head regretfully.

"Figures..."

Vengeful Blood also understood the helplessness in Carl's tone.

With the stingy personality of Oath's official developers, they would never create this kind of free extra progression system.

But for Vengeful Blood to beat one using Villager Mode?

With the shovel in her hand?

Carl's design was actually ant to encourage Vengeful Blood to start by catching low-level wild mobs first, rather than imdiately aiming for a pseudo-legendary-tier Abyssal Knight.

Just as Vengeful Blood was hesitating, that Abyssal Knight seed to sense her gaze and slowly walked toward her.

At that mont, the eye icon indicating that Vengeful Blood's stealth had been detected also slowly opened.

"It's over!"

Vengeful Blood imdiately pulled Carl and Silly Cat behind the bar counter of the small hut to hide.

If it were any other ti, then dying was dying.

But this ti, she had brought all her valuables with her, including the materials from her main Oath account.

If Vengeful Blood died here, she probably would not be able to sleep for the next week.

Carl, however, remained very calm.

He watched the stealth icon in front of Vengeful Blood slowly open its eye and listened to the Abyssal Knight's heavy footsteps gradually approach.

Carl saw through it at a glance.

That Abyssal Knight had co here to "feed."

More specifically, it had co to absorb the positive emotions from Vengeful Blood and ease its own symptoms.

Since the stealth chanic had been introduced, the Abyssal Knights had all cleverly learned the art of "scaring scavenger players."

Approaching just as players realized they were about to be discovered and were certain they were going to die, then suddenly leaving at the last second.

This kind of routine could provide players with a huge rush of relief and surprise every ti.

This Abyssal Knight had also co over with that script in mind.

As Vengeful Blood heard the heavy clanking of armor behind the bar getting closer and closer, along with the sound of the knight's gauntlet scraping against the counter, Carl could clearly hear her heartbeat rapidly surge past 120.

Don't find , don't find , don't find !

Vengeful Blood was probably repeating that over and over in her heart right now.

That Abyssal Knight was also quite considerate.

After giving Vengeful Blood a simple scare, it uttered a classic line.

"Must have been the wind."

Then it left just like that.

"Phew..."

Vengeful Blood let out a long breath.

She swore this was absolutely the most thrilling mont she had ever experienced while playing the Trial of Glory. She probably would not forget it for the rest of her life.

The departing Abyssal Knight also took a deep breath.

After absorbing the near-death relief radiating from Vengeful Blood, it felt as though the plague throughout its body had eased quite a bit.

Both sides got what they needed.

Just when Vengeful Blood thought everything was over, an explosion suddenly ca from the Vault.

Players from the main Oath ga had co to raid the Vault.

This was, after all, the richest location in the Trial of Glory. The chance of a battle breaking out here in every match was basically one hundred percent.

That Abyssal Knight imdiately drew its sword and went over to defend it.

But because of ga balance and acting requirents, it could not use its full strength at all and was quickly defeated by the players.

Fortunately, that group of main Oath players did not finish off the Abyssal Knight.

A massive explosion directly sent its huge body flying, crashing into the wall of the small hut where Vengeful Blood was hiding.

At the sa ti, another team of main-ga players rushed over to join the fight, causing the low-health Abyssal Knight to be ignored even more.

"Could it be...!"

Vengeful Blood instantly realized this was a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.

She imdiately ran over to the Abyssal Knight with the Poké Card and checked the recruitnt conditions.

Sure enough, all the conditions had been greatly reduced, although they still required a pile of large reds and large golds.

But at least a prompt popped up in front of Vengeful Blood.

[The materials in your backpack are insufficient to form a contract with this monster. If you force the contract, there is only a 20% success rate. If it fails, your materials may disappear.]

If this were any other normal player, seeing a 20% success rate would probably make them give up on the spot.

But Vengeful Blood was different.

She was a mobile gacha player.

A 20% drop rate?

What kind of insanely generous banner was this?

Even if Vengeful Blood were given ten thousand more chances, her answer would definitely be to pull.

"Please, please! Co ho, co ho!"

Vengeful Blood muttered so incomprehensible gacha incantations and used the large red and small red loot from her backpack to set up a strange magic circle around the Abyssal Knight.
