Now reading: Chapter 375: Why Does Kassie Have To Always Be Right? from I Only Summon Villainesses, a Fantasy novel by Hatetheauthor.

From the broken do, water was spilling downward like the heavens had decided to unleash one of their barrels of water upon the world beneath. Of course, we were beneath a vast sea long before we were beneath the heavens themselves.

If they existed.

The water did not reach , though. As it poured down, it was being heated into vapor at a horrifying, sizzling pace. Vapor flowed above like a pale white mist. The mont I hurled the spear of fla, the world seed to bend, and then the river evaporated at a life-threatening speed, such that I watched the Kirin Beast leap out of the river in its physical body.

The man acted fast, recalling his summon, but I was far faster than any of them anticipated. First of all, I dismissed White Feather, sending her to the depths of my soul, and just as the spear of fla touched the river, turning it into sizzling air, I had already lunged toward the man.

As he closed his hands together to call back his summon, his eyes widened as he witnessed my hand drive into his belly. A ring of impact burst out of his back. He folded like a piece of paper before being blasted away.

The brief lag that prevented him from recalling his summon cost the damn beast its life. Because at the sa ti that I landed the blow, the arrow unraveled the ground in a cacophony of thunderous, ravenous explosions.

Shuǐyáo ran from the explosion as fast as she could manage, her legs skittering in a frantic blur before her beast summon scooped her from the ground and lunged into the sky. The explosion was colossal, tearing through the rest of the quarters and even chasing them into the higher skies.

But the Birman soared with blistering speed until the explosion was no longer pursuing it.

’Crap, my bad... I forgot I needed to rescue her.’

I grinned sheepishly. That was certainly my carelessness.

’Not that she would know.’

For a mont, the land was filled with a vast, endless grey fog that shrouded the entire island. Rain splattered onto the center of the island alone.

’Rain? Under the water?’

For a mont, I actually thought it was rain, until I glanced up and saw that the vaporized water was releasing droplets. Moreover, water was spilling through the cracked do, and now that the overbearing heat was gone, it was flooding the ground—already forming another river where the initial one had been obliterated.

I turned back to the man I had saved from the explosion with my punch. I had broken through several walls and must now be sowhere within the manor issued to the Black Snow Company. I could still feel his faint essence signature.

The mist was slowly dispersing. Through it, I blurred forward and landed on the rubble ford by a jagged hole in the wall, causing stone debris to scatter.

I took a step, another step, and another before I stood above him.

He was on his knees, struggling to stand. When I arrived before him, he stopped and raised his head with a frightened expression.

"W-Who are you?"

I sighed.

"That’s quite old... I got tired of answering people."

I grabbed him by the jaw and lifted him up. Either he was too weak or understood the finality of defeat—whichever it was, he didn’t struggle against my grip.

He rely stared downward with a stubborn light in his eyes.

"I am not going to give in... even if you defeat , I have sons who will continue my mandate. The destruction of the Boundless Wave Clan is paramount."

His stubborn look was further fueled by a maddened grin spreading across his face.

"The Water Moon was in on this, you know... so while you’re celebrating your victory, I hate to break it to you, but there’s an even greater force that will end the Boundless Wave Clan for good."

I wanted to call his bluff, but at the sa ti he had made a reasonable statent. I knew bluffs, and this didn’t sound like one.

He grinned harder.

"Yes, that’s it. You should be scared shitless and run away!"

I looked at him blankly for a mont, then sent my forehead flying into his. With a sharp smash, he was knocked out cold in my hands.

’What? This one has no balls.’

That was the new definition for n who could not withstand my head strike.

Just as I released his chin from my grip and he collapsed to the ground, a brutal horn sounded across the entire island.

I didn’t know what it was yet, but what caught my attention was the ground.

The ground was wet.

A cold frown settled on my brow as I noticed it.

’Damn it, Kassie. Why do you have to be so on point every damn ti.’

I grabbed the man by one leg and leaped back to the center of the Lotus Pavilion, where a deep crater now lay in place of the fine stream that had once flowed there. But the crater had been filled with water and was now overflowing.

I glanced up and saw the reason. I considered it for a mont. When I realized there was nothing I could do about it, I sighed and began searching for a way to escape.

However, White Feather reached out to from inside.

’Sir Cade...’

It wasn’t a special communication through the link—she had rely spoken within my soul, wanting to reach , and I felt the ssage. A whirlwind of sparks appeared before and rged into White Feather.

She stared at herself with stunned disbelief.

"How is this possible? I feel like I gained more essence."

I smiled.

"It’s what happens when you let inside you... this is nothing," I declared.

She froze and looked at rather oddly. For so reason, I did not like the look on her face.

I glared at her.

"You’re judging right now, aren’t you?"

She spoke with a resigned tone.

"We are in the middle of a flood you caused. My entire clan is demolished—thank you so much—and you really want to make a joke about entering ?"

I looked at her, then at the flood and the water still pouring heavily from the broken do.

’She’s not entirely wrong.’

I then fixed her with a blank look.

"You’re wrong."

She reared her head in disbelief.

"Oh? Enlighten ."

I blinked and looked away thoughtfully.

"I wasn’t joking."

White Feather pierced with a death glare.
