The battlefield had descended into sheer chaos. The Ogres and Daemons’s minds had been overtaken by an unnatural frenzy and now they fought with reckless abandon.
They no longer cared for strategy, self-preservation, or even coordination with one another. Their eyes glead with a savage mindless rage as they swung their massive weapons wildly, crushing everything in their path. Read latest stories on .Côm
An Ogre, its exo suit armor gleaming with faintly glowing runes, slamd its massive club into the ground, shattering stone and sending Elven soldiers sprawling.
A Daemon, covered in his jagged exo-armor, tore through an unfortunate Elf, its claws slicing through flesh and bone with terrifying ease.
The enemy forces showed no signs of pain or hesitation. If one fell, another took its place instantly, hurling itself into battle without a second thought with a loud mad scream.
The Elven generals quickly realized the severity of the situation. The enemy was no longer fighting like an army. They waere a horde, a mindless storm of destruction. Holding the line in open combat was no longer an option.
"Fall back! Get behind the barrier again, now!" one of the generals roared.
The Elven forces obeyed imdiately, moving with precision and discipline. They retreated in an organized move, covering each other as they moved back.
Archers provided suppressing fire, loosing normal arrows that struck unprotected gaps in the enemy’s exo-suits, killing so of them.
Mages cast defensive spells, forming temporary barriers or traps to slow the advance of the raging Ogres and Daemons.
The mont the last Elf made it past the barrier, the shimring Magical shield surged with renewed energy. The Ogres and Daemons slamd into it without hesitation, their bodies crashing against the glowing surface with deafening force.
So swung weapons, others clawed and slamd their fists against the translucent wall, but the barrier did not waver. Sparks flew as the creatures struck again and again, their roars filled with frustration.
Inside the safety of the barrier, the Elven forces quickly adjusted their strategy. Though they could no longer be hard directly, they could still attack.
"Take your positions! We attack from here!" another general commanded.
Archers took their stances along the inner periter, their bows already drawn. Mages gathered, channeling destructive spells into their hands.
The barrier was their shield, but it did not block attacks from within. The Elves unleashed a relentless counterattack.
Arrows rained down with deadly precision, piercing the weak spots in the Ogres’ and Daemons’ armor like their exposed joints, gaps in their plating, and the unprotected flesh beneath their helts.
So of the creatures fell instantly, their bodies twitching as enchanted arrows severed tendons and pierced skulls.
Mages sent streaks of fire and bolts of energy through the barrier, striking the enemies with devastating force. So Daemons screeched in agony as their bodies were engulfed in flas, their corrupted flesh burning away as they flailed wildly before collapsing. The runes now suddenly seems not as strong as before after making them go berserk.
Others staggered as lightning arced between them, frying their circuits and disrupting their exo-suit enhancents.
The once-unrelenting tide of enemy forces was starting to thin. The Ogres and Daemons, despite their berserk state, were not invincible.
They had weaknesses, and the Elves had begun exploiting them.
But even as they fell, more still charged forward, continuing their mindless assault against the unyielding barrier. It was only a matter of ti before they tried sothing worse.

Above the thick clouds, Dredge clicked his tongue in irritation. From his vantage point, the battlefield was a mass of movent, blood, and fire, but one thing remained stubbornly unbroken — the Elves’ Magical barrier.
"That thing is getting in the way," he muttered.
Veyna hovering beside him smirked slightly. "How do you plan on breaking it?"
"I’ll release another batch of Hexa Cannoneers," Dredge said, already pressing several buttons on his control panel.
Veyna raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that? Lord Laston said the barrier’s strength is bolstered by Dragonborn Magic. Do you really think your machines can break through sothing like that?"
Dredge paused, frowning in thought. She was right. Ordinary siege weapons—even advanced cyber-Magical war machines—might not be enough. If it were purely Elven Magic, the cannons could have worn it down eventually, but Dragonborn Magic was another matter entirely.
"Then I’ll act as well," Dredge decided.
Veyna shrugged. "Oh, alright." She had no interest in stopping him. She only wanted to see what he would do.
With a sharp motion, Dredge input a command. Below them, the swirling air of a summoning portal expanded, and in an instant, ten massive forms erged.
These were the Hexa Cannoneers that each bore a distinctive stag beetle-like design on their cannon barrels, their reinforced plating humming with power.
Without hesitation, the machines locked onto the barrier below and fired.
Blazing streaks of energy shot downward like teorites. The Elves, who had just begun stabilizing their counteroffensive, barely had ti to react before the first round of cannon fire crashed into the Magical shield.
Inside the orb chamber at the heart of the Elven stronghold, Eccar clenched his teeth as an unseen force slamd against his mind. The strain of maintaining the barrier suddenly multiplied, a weight pressing down on him as if an invisible hand were trying to crush his skull.
"Urgh…!" He let out a sharp groan, staggering back. Aurdis, standing beside him, imdiately placed a hand on his shoulder, her expression concerned.
"Eccar! What’s happening?" she asked urgently.
"They… they’re increasing their firepower," he growled. Sweat trickled down his forehead as he fought to stabilize the Magic field. "It’s not just the machines—there’s sothing else. Soone strong is interfering!"
The barrier flickered for a brief second, but Eccar gritted his teeth and forced his power back into it. The orb pulsed with renewed strength, but the relentless bombardnt was far from over.
Back in the sky, Dredge narrowed his eyes as he observed the impact. The barrier held, but he could see it trembling at the edges. His machines were making progress—but not fast enough.
He smirked.
"Let’s see how long you can hold out."
Dredge raised one hand, and power crackled around him. Just like Laston, his Magic was also enhanced by cybernetics but Dredge had taken a different route.
His own body had been fused with Daemonic and Ogres enhancents. He thought that it will be interesting taking the power of those beasts.
Tendrils of dark energy licked across his arms as he extended his hands toward the barrier below.
The sky above the battlefield darkened further, as if sothing vast and terrible was stirring within the clouds. Lightning crackled in unnatural patterns, and then…
A spear of black energy, as wide as a warship, tore through the sky and slamd into the barrier.
Inside the orb room, Eccar let out a strangled gasp. His knees buckled as he felt the full force of the attack slam into his Magic so suddenly, sending shockwaves through his entire being.
His vision blurred, and for the first ti, a thin crack appeared in the barrier’s surface.
Aurdis’ eyes widened in alarm.
"Eccar—!"
"Damn it. I won’t let it fall but if I have to extend more Magic energy, I need to change into at least half Dragon" Eccar saod, forcing more of his Dragonborn Magic into the shield. But even as the barrier held, if this kept up, it wouldn’t last long.
Erend, sensing the struggle within the orb chamber, step inside without hesitation. He then stepped forward, his eyes locked on the trembling orb that maintained the barrier.
"I’ll help you," he said firmly.
Eccar barely had ti to glance at him before Erend stretched out his arm, tapping into his own Dragonborn Magic. Blue and red energy crackled around his fingertips as he channeled his power directly into the orb.
The swirling runes surrounding it steadied, and the wavering barrier outside regained its strength, montarily pushing back against the relentless bombardnt.
For a mont, it seed as if they could hold out. Until another attack ca.
A monstrous spear of black lightning split the sky apart again and crashed down with devastating force. The impact wasn’t just against the barrier — it struck the orb itself.
A sharp crack echoed through the chamber.
Erend and Eccar’s eyes widened as they saw it—not just a fracture in the energy of the barrier, but a deep fissure running across the surface of the orb. A visible, physical crack.
"Oh, shit… this is bad," Eccar muttered, his voice tight with both pain and disbelief.
Saeldir turned toward them, his expression grim. "The orb can’t withstand this much strain. It’s Dragonborn Magic that was so powerful reinforcing it, but that sa Magic is making it unstable under these attacks." His fingers clenched. "If this keeps up, it will break."
Outside, the enemy forces continued their relentless assault. The Hexa Cannoneers reloaded, their glowing stag beetle-like cannons humming with energy as they prepared to fire again.
And above them all, Dredge watched, his smirk widening. It was only a matter of ti now.
