[Battle Angel – Valkyrie has received your command. With a beat of her wings, she flies back to your side.]

[The longbow in her hands suddenly vanishes, replaced by a lantern of flesh emitting a warm light.]

[Thunderbeast Mammoth swivels its massive head, crimson eyes locking onto that small point of dim radiance.]

[It roars, charging straight toward the Valkyrie!]

[The Valkyrie nods to you, clutching the lantern as she rises into the air. With astonishing speed, she leads the giant beast in circles around the hall.]

[You possess the Shell of the Knowledge-Seeking President of the Direct Vision Association!]

[You raise your staff and begin chanting a spell…]

[…]

[Brilliant starlight blooms once more!]

[You feel utterly exhausted!]

Lin Xun’s mouth twitched.

This was the fourth ti he had cast Falling Starlight, counting even the interrupted attempt.

“I didn’t even finish the spell, and it still drained that much mana?”

[Thunderbeast Mammoth was struck by the starlight. Its charging montum faltered. It whipped its head around to glare at you, the crimson gaze nearly making you forget to keep chanting.]

[Just as you feared the giant beast would charge at you again, its eyes were quickly drawn back to the warm glow, and it resud chasing the Valkyrie.]

“Thank goodness the Abyss Lantern is reliable enough, no threat of aggro going out of control.”

Lin Xun stopped casting Falling Starlight and switched to the significantly less draining Knowledge Spear to conserve his ntal energy.

[You lift your hand. The Stored Spell Treasure Ring glows brightly.]

[Countless pure white characters converge into two enormous spears, which pierce Thunderbeast Mammoth’s body with overwhelming force.]

Even with the most powerful Falling Starlight, aggro didn’t break, so there was no way the much weaker Knowledge Spear would cause any issues.

[Thunderbeast Mammoth howled in pain. Its speed increased again, and the carapace covering its body grew thicker and tougher.]

[The Valkyrie was forced to fly with all her strength to keep from being overtaken by the pursuing behemoth.]

“I can’t keep conserving mana anymore. If I keep this up, once the Weakened effect wears off, the Valkyrie will be caught by the boss…”

Without the Valkyrie kiting it, Lin Xun would lose his last chance to finish off the boss.

He took a deep breath and cast Falling Starlight again.

[As the starlight blood, Thunderbeast Mammoth suffered severe wounds!]

“This boss’s HP bar is disgustingly long!”

According to the ga chanics, after ‘slightly injured’ ca ‘seriously injured,’ then ‘near-fatally injured,’ and only then would death follow.

In other words, after all this effort, he had only managed to chip away a little more than half the boss’s health…

And now he had only enough mana left for one more Falling Starlight.

There was still a huge chunk of HP to burn down.

After that last spell, all he could do was switch to the Earth Giant Shell and slug it out in lee.

“If only the Valkyrie still had a batch of powerful arrows… if only I had so items that restored ntal energy…”

[You raise your staff…]

[…]

[The starlight blooms…]

[Frequent skill usage has left you utterly exhausted. Even shifting your feet slightly feels like an impossible luxury.]

[You possess the Shell of the Corrupted Earth Giant!]

Although Lin Xun still had a Grand Scholar Shell left, trying to output damage with it would probably take longer than the boss needed to recover from the ‘Weakened’ status, he would never kill it in ti.

[Your body suddenly swells upward. In an instant, you transform from a puny human into a thirty-ter-tall giant.]

[But compared to the colossal fra of the Legendary Starborn Spirit – Thunderbeast Mammoth Lonka, you are nothing but a child.]

Lin Xun activated every skill he had and went all out.

[You open a single pale eye…]

[Special skill Weak Point Insight activated!]

[Your Knowledge stat is vastly inferior to the enemy’s. Resolving judgnt…]

[Judgnt failed. You are unable to discern the enemy’s weak points.]

As a Legendary creature that had existed since the age of the God Wars, Thunderbeast Mammoth Lonka had fought countless battles. The number of Scholars it had slaughtered likely reached astronomical figures, and its accumulated Knowledge stat was unimaginably terrifying.

It was only natural that Lin Xun’s Knowledge was no match for the boss’s.

[You open a single crimson eye…]

[Special skill Scorching Gaze of Flowing Fire activated!]

[All your attacks and skills will now carry the burning effect of Undying Fla.]

[The Ancient Dragonfang Greatclub in your hands bursts into world-consuming flas, blazing light filling the entire Star Spirit Palace.]

[Battle Angel – Valkyrie beats her wings, changing direction to fly straight toward you.]

[You look upon the giant beast whose charging force grew ever more ferocious and unleash a thunderous roar!]

[You stomp your enormous feet, charging at Thunderbeast Mammoth as well!]

[With every step, an endless surge of power flows up from the earth into your massive body. Blessing of Mother Earth has been fully activated!]

[The flying Valkyrie brushes past you. Just ahead looms the enormous monster, almost close enough to touch.]

[With the montum of its charge, it lowers its massive head. The razor-sharp blade on its lower jaw thrusts directly toward you!]

[A reeking gust of wind hits your face, but you show no fear. In your crimson eyes burns nothing but unrestrained fury!]

[You heft your heavy weapon wreathed in Undying Flas, pouring every ounce of strength into a downward strike…]

[The violent wind stirred by the Ancient Dragonfang Greatclub transforms into a hurricane of fire, incinerating all that dares provoke the Ancient King, the Crimson Dragon!]

[The Lucky Gold Coin in your possession glimrs with a faint light.]

[Your attack has triggered the Beastn Giant Chieftain’s Spirit Essence special effect.]

[This attack will deal double damage!]

[A colossal beastly silhouette erged behind you. Its claw gripped your weapon alongside yours. As it let out a long, resonant howl, the giant club and the bladed tusks clashed…]

[A thunderous crash erupted, making the entire Star Spirit Palace tremble faintly.]

[You were hurled away by the colossal beast’s overwhelming force. Across your chest and abdon, the Regenerating Scale Armor of the Dragon Rider rapidly repaired a savage crack, yet could not stop the gushing blood spilling from the wound.]

[You have suffered severe injuries!]

[Propping yourself up on your giant club, you looked up and saw Thunderbeast Mammoth rooted in place, letting out continuous wails.]

[Two of the tusks on one side of its jaw had snapped clean off at the base. Dark green blood spurted out as flas burned relentlessly around the wounds. It had suffered near-fatal injuries!]

The Earth Giant was already half-crippled from just one direct clash with the boss. Fortunately, the Lucky Gold Coin had co through, triggering a critical hit… otherwise, the Earth Giant would likely have been dood.

Lin Xun gritted his teeth. This boss was simply too monstrous.

If he could do it over again, he would definitely have chosen a weaker creature like Nightmare Jumping Mantis.

He couldn’t send the Earth Giant in again, one more clash and it would certainly perish.
