Elder Luo and Hong Lingtong had already found a place to take cover the mont the explosion occurred.

Both n were well aware of the terrifying power of their own attacks. Combined with Hong Yu unleashing his full strength in a fit of rage, the resulting shockwave was bound to be imnse. Still, staring at the massive crater before them—over ten ters wide and six or seven ters deep—they couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief.

"This Hong Yu is just too much trouble, isn't he? Is he really just so kid at the Earth Soul Realm?" Elder Luo swallowed hard.

The energy contained within that horrifying explosion was simply imnse.

Even Elder Luo had to admit that if he had faced such a terrifying blast, he would have escaped with heavy injuries at best.

Hong Lingtong fell silent for a mont, then nodded. "If he hadn't provoked the Four Kings first, and if Master hadn't subsequently ordered his death, I would be sowhat reluctant to kill him. I can hardly believe a branch of my Hong Family could produce such a genius. But it's a pity... a tree that stands taller than the forest will be destroyed by the wind."

"Elder Luo, should we head back now?" Hong Lingtong asked, looking at Elder Luo.

Beneath the cloak, a pair of erald eyes flickered.

Elder Luo pondered for a mont, then nodded. "That explosion was so terrifying; the boy is certainly dead. Since he's dead, there's no reason for us to remain here. What's more, the Ten Thousand Borders Demon Realm is fraught with danger. We should leave as soon as possible."

"Right."

Hong Lingtong nodded.

The two of them turned and started back the way they ca, side by side.

One had to reach the Primordial Spirit Realm to gain the ability to walk on air. To further conceal their identities, the two had not brought any mounts and could only proceed on foot.

However, just as the two turned to leave, two powerful auras suddenly erupted from the crater behind them.

BOOM! BOOM!

The sound of two figures bursting from the earth made both n's nerves tighten instantly.

"This is bad!"

Elder Luo and Hong Lingtong exchanged horrified glances before scattering in opposite directions.

But the two sudden attacks had already locked onto their targets, pursuing them to the left and right.

"Damn it, get lost!" Elder Luo roared, instantly forming the Great Heaven Forest Seal to brutally suppress his pursuer.

Behind him, the disheveled figure of a young man showed no fear whatsoever.

He dodged aside with a bizarre Body Technique. Imdiately after, a cyan-blue light shot out from his left eye, burrowing into Elder Luo's body with a soft *thwip*. Elder Luo's expression froze. 'How is this possible?' he scread internally. 'He... he's not dead?'

That's right, the young man was none other than Hong Yu!

And that cyan-blue light was the Ice God's Blade!

Under the Ice Seal's impact from the Ice God's Blade, Elder Luo's mind went blank, his consciousness faltering for a mont.

Hong Yu was already upon him. He ford a hand seal for his Palm Technique—Three Flas Palm: Void Fire Dragon!

ROAR!

The Dragon's Roar was deafening. Nine Flaming Long Dragons coiled around Elder Luo's body. The young man softly uttered a single word: "Explode!" The nine Fire Dragons detonated in a flash of red light. The terrifying energy shockwave that swept out shredded Elder Luo's Sword Robe, leaving it in tatters.

Scorching waves of fire relentlessly battered Elder Luo's body.

In the blink of an eye, his hair was incinerated. His muscles turned fiery red, and then the stench of charred flesh filled the air.

"Furious Fla Burning Heaven!"

Hong Yu roared again.

He raised his arm slightly to point at Elder Luo, the corner of his mouth curling into a cold smirk, and abruptly clenched his five fingers into a fist.

BOOM!

The flas blazed dazzlingly once more. An ocean of fire, dozens of ters wide, instantly and completely engulfed Elder Luo. The scorching flas battered him relentlessly like volcanic magma. Several spots on his body were already burned black and ruptured, revealing glimpses of blood and stark white bone within the inferno.

"AHHH..."

Elder Luo, jolted awake by the excruciating pain, let out a wretched scream. His figure shot backward, trailing flas as he burst out of the sea of fire.

His body was charred black and a ss of mangled flesh, emitting waves of a foul, burnt odor.

Elder Luo's face was a ferocious grimace. Every inch of his fla-scorched body felt as if it were being stabbed by a thousand steel needles. The piercing pain was unbearable, pushing him to the brink of collapse. Gritting his teeth, he retrieved a Pill from his still-intact Storage Ring and swallowed it, temporarily stabilizing his injuries.

His venomous gaze, a mixture of shock and fury, locked onto Hong Yu. "H-Hong Yu, you're actually alive?"

Hong Yu's face was deathly pale. Speaking seed to aggravate his injuries, and the corner of his eye twitched. He gritted his teeth. "How could I die before you do?"

"You..."

Elder Luo's expression tightened, his eyes flickering uncertainly.

The terrifying energy explosion from before had made him extrely wary. If Hong Yu had truly erged from such a blast unscathed, he would have to reconsider whether to continue this fight.

But when Elder Luo happened to glance at Hong Yu's right arm, his uncertain expression slowly twisted into a sinister sneer. "Hahaha! What a Hong Yu! What a First True Disciple! If I hadn't observed more carefully, I might have actually been fooled. You were already severely injured. There's no way you could have escaped that energy blast unhard."

He snorted and advanced nacingly on Hong Yu. "If I'm not mistaken, you're a spent arrow at this point. All I need to do is launch another attack, and you won't last more than a few exchanges. You'll be nothing but a fish on my chopping block, ready to be carved up."

BOOM!

The mont he finished speaking, he unleashed a powerful wave of montum to strike Hong Yu.

Caught off guard, Hong Yu's already weakened body shuddered violently under the impact of the montum, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. He staggered back several steps, then buckled, his legs giving way as he collapsed to his knees. The energy in his body roiled, and he couldn't stop another mouthful of blood from spraying out, staining the patch of ground before him crimson.

The Eight Desolates Saint Slaying Technique was certainly powerful, and the Nine Refinents of the Primordial Spirit did indeed grant him nine tis the Elental Power of others at his level.

But... Hong Yu's Cultivation Realm was simply too low.

He had already used over seventy percent of his energy just to withstand the combined strongest attacks from Hong Lingtong and Elder Luo. He could have hidden underground and waited for them to leave, but he knew that if they returned empty-handed, Yun ngyao's death was certain.

Between hiding to barely survive and launching a surprise attack that could cost him his life, he had to choose the latter.

Now, Xingtian had gone to pursue Hong Lingtong, leaving Elder Luo as his target.

He had already embraced the will to die. Even now, with Elder Luo having seen through his weakness and death a looming possibility, he had no regrets.

He slamd his fist into the ground, his nails digging deep into his own flesh, his heart filled with regret and bitterness. 'Yaoyao, I'm sorry. I failed to keep my promise to protect you...'

"Hahaha, just as I predicted! Ah, Hong Yu, Hong Yu... if you had just stayed hidden, I would have assud you were dead and left. You might have saved your own pathetic life. But now..."

Elder Luo sneered again and again. He suddenly raised his leg and stomped down, brutally forcing Hong Yu flat against the ground.

He planted a foot on Hong Yu's back, pinning him completely. He ground his heel back and forth; this was a foot that could crush boulders and bend solid steel, and it slamd into Hong Yu's back again and again. Each blow damaged Hong Yu's internal organs, and a steady stream of blood trickled from his mouth.

An overwhelming sense of weakness washed over him, and Hong Yu felt his vision begin to blur.

Elder Luo laughed maniacally. "Get up! Get up! Weren't you going to kill a mont ago? Why are you lying on the ground like a dead dog now? Get up!"

As he spoke, Elder Luo kicked him again.

Hong Yu's body bounced from the impact as he coughed violently, spraying blood.

BAM!

Elder Luo kicked out viciously, sending Hong Yu flying. He tumbled through the air for dozens of ters before crashing down hard. He landed right on the edge of the crater, and the loose soil gave way under the impact, sending him tumbling to the bottom.

"Cough, cough..."

Hong Yu struggled to push himself up.

"Such a stubborn bastard. Still won't stay down?" Elder Luo's brow twitched. He leaped high into the air, plumting down from more than ten ters up.

His legs were slightly bent, his knees aid straight for Hong Yu's chest as he fell.

If this strike landed, Hong Yu's chest would surely collapse, and he would certainly die.

But Hong Yu was simply too weak. He had no way to resist.

As he watched Elder Luo's ferocious attack descend, knowing he was about to die, the powerful pressure from his opponent's montum forced him flat against the ground again. Despair washed over him. A sweet taste rose in his throat, and he coughed up more blood, his heart filled with bitterness and helplessness.

"Hahaha, Hong Yu, go to hell!"

Elder Luo laughed with wild abandon.

Five ters...

Three ters...

One ter...

He was about to execute Hong Yu. But at that critical mont, a silver light flashed by like a bolt of Thunder, forcefully shoving Hong Yu's body out of the way.

At the sa ti, Elder Luo's knees slamd into the silver figure with a BOOM, driving it brutally into the ground.

Dust billowed.

Hong Lingtong rushed over, forming a black blade as he prepared to execute Hong Yu.

But with a SWOOSH, the silver figure shot up from the dirt, scooped up Hong Yu in one fluid motion, and sprinted away.

Hong Lingtong's expression changed drastically. "What the hell is that thing? It's neither human nor ghost, but its body is unbelievably tough. Even my Corpse Rotting Insects can barely corrode it."

"What are you gawking at? After them! We absolutely cannot let that bastard get away alive."

Elder Luo roared and gave chase.

Hong Lingtong's expression shifted slightly, and he followed close behind.

"Stop."

"Hong Yu, stop running! No one can save you."

"Friend, just put down Hong Yu and we'll let you leave! We swear we won't harm you."

The two gave chase relentlessly, but neither their Primordial Weapons, Corpse Rotting Insects, nor Elental Power attacks could stop Xingtian. They could only resort to trying to persuade him to abandon Hong Yu. But was Xingtian soone who could be swayed by words?

SWOOSH!

Xingtian, who had been sprinting madly, suddenly slowed to a halt.

He spun around, still holding the heavily injured Hong Yu. His dull, emotionless gray eyes now held a trace of defiance and anger.

Hong Yu gently patted Xingtian, signaling for him to let him stand.

Xingtian helped Hong Yu to his feet.

Just then, Elder Luo and Hong Lingtong caught up. They glanced at what was behind Hong Yu, then looked at each other and sneered. "Go on, run. Why've you stopped?"

"Hong Yu, you have nowhere left to run. Just accept your death!" Elder Luo jeered. "If you die by our hands, at least we'll leave you a whole corpse. If you keep resisting and fall down there, you'll be smashed to pieces!"

Hong Yu glanced behind him.

He was at the edge of a sheer cliff, facing a vast expanse of darkness. Below, sinister gales howled.

The abyss was easily tens of thousands of feet deep.

If he were to fall, forget Hong Yu—not even an expert at the Primordial Core Realm would have any chance of survival.

"A whole corpse?"

Hong Yu raised an eyebrow, and a chilling sneer suddenly appeared on his face. Supported by Xingtian, he slowly backed toward the cliff's edge.

"Old bastard. Hong Lingtong. You'd better rember this..."

Taking a deep breath, Hong Yu threw himself over the edge. His figure plunged into the bottomless abyss, quickly swallowed by the Darkness. Only his cold voice lingered, echoing through the chasm...

"If I survive this day, I swear I will make you unable to eat and unable to sleep! I will make your lives a fate worse than death!"
