The mountain wind howled, and the dark cliff was like the gaping, bloody maw of a giant beast.

The mont Hong Yu and Xingtian leaped into the abyss one after the other, Hong Lingtong and Elder Luo instinctively rushed forward to stop them. But it was too late. They could only watch helplessly as Hong Yu's figure was devoured by the pitch-black cliff.

Hong Yu's words from before he jumped still echoed in their ears.

A chill ran down their spines as they looked at each other.

They were silent for a long ti...

Elder Luo suddenly spoke, "Why do I feel like I've made a mistake?"

"Mm."

Hong Lingtong nodded, his eerie green eyes under the cloak flickering with alarm and uncertainty. "I feel a chill all over. Elder Luo, tell ... if Hong Yu isn't dead, and he cos back next ti, do you think we'll be able to survive his wrath?"

Elder Luo froze.

The re thought of the possibility Hong Lingtong ntioned sent another chill down his spine.

Hong Yu was only at the Mid-stage Earth Soul Realm, yet he had already pushed the two of them into such a state.

Even so, in the end, they hadn't even managed to kill Hong Yu with their own hands.

'If Hong Yu really ca back alive, knowing his personality, he would only return after his cultivation had greatly advanced. He was already this terrifying at the Mid-stage Earth Soul Realm. What would happen if Hong Yu reached the Peak of Earth Soul Realm, or even the Celestial Soul Realm? Would the two of us still be his match?'

'Could we handle his revenge?'

Elder Luo was lost in thought.

Or rather, he was truly afraid.

"Elder Luo..." Hong Lingtong called out softly.

Elder Luo snapped out of it. Hiding the panic and fear in his heart, he swallowed hard and forced a calm deanor. "Don't worry. This cliff is at least ten thousand zhang high. Never mind a little guy at the Earth Soul Realm; even a Primordial Core Realm expert would certainly die falling in. It's impossible for him to survive."

"Let's not talk about it anymore. Since Hong Yu has been dealt with, we should head back."

Elder Luo left first, as if he couldn't bear to stay there for another second.

Hong Lingtong stared into the pitch-black abyss and took a deep breath, his emotions in turmoil. In the end, he too departed.

「…」

Darkness was everywhere. Amidst the vast, endless darkness, Hong Yu could hear the sound of furious winds whistling past his ears.

He could feel his body's weakness, and the constant sensation of falling down into the abyss.

Hong Yu's heart filled with bitterness, unwillingness, and helplessness. 'I'm sorry, Yaoyao. Big Brother can't protect you anymore…'

Self-bla, powerlessness, and helplessness made Hong Yu feel exceptionally miserable.

Inside the Profound Celestial Tower, Little One, who was usually incredibly active, gave no response at all. Hong Yu had once complained that Little One didn't help him in tis of crisis, but he later learned the reason from Little One himself. It was a rule set by the creator of the Profound Celestial Tower.

Before he could open the Third Layer of the Profound Celestial Tower, the tower would not help him solve his difficulties, aside from providing so auxiliary support.

For one, it was a trial for him.

And for another, it was to prevent him from exposing the Profound Celestial Tower due to his own lack of strength. Possessing a treasure invites disaster, which could lead to his own death.

Hong Yu took a deep breath. 'Sorry, Little One. I once promised that I would help you find your forr master in the future. But now... heheh, I can't even save myself. I'm sorry…'

'I'm sorry, Father, Mother. Your son can't co find you anymore…'

'I'm sorry, Yaoyao. Big Brother can't protect you anymore…'

In his despair, Hong Yu felt his consciousness gradually fading.

The fire of his life seed to be quietly extinguishing.

Flickering precariously, this Star Fire would be completely extinguished in a matter of monts.

Just then, the Star River Spirit Bone in his mind sent a sliver of immortal will into the flickering fire of his life. Hong Yu, who had been in despair and near death, trembled all over as his eyes snapped open. His dazed gaze cleared. 'No, I can't die. As long as I'm alive, if I can get back to the Sword Sect quickly, I can still save Yaoyao. I can't die! If I die, Yaoyao will truly be beyond saving…'

'No, I can't die!'

'I must not die!'

'Alive! I must stay alive!'

A sonorous and resounding roar erupted from his hoarse throat.

Like rolling Thunder Sound, it actually drowned out the howling hurricane in the ten-thousand-zhang abyss.

"HUMMM!"

A point of light swirled between his brows, and Hong Yu recovered a sliver of strength.

He glanced to the side at Xingtian, who was also falling. "Xingtian, get to the cliff wall! We'll climb down slowly from there."

"ROAR!"

Xingtian sensed Hong Yu's renewed confidence and conveyed a look of excitent.

He grabbed Hong Yu and shot through the hurricane, swiftly lunging onto the cliff face. His palms were like forged steel. As one hand plunged into the rock wall, Xingtian's body continued to slide down amidst the RUMBLE of scraping stone. A drag mark as deep as an arm and about six or seven hundred ters long was left on the cliff face like a hideous, shocking scar.

This was the result of Xingtian braking their fall.

"BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Xingtian climbed downwards. His hands and feet easily pierced the rock as they landed on the cliff face, making his hold exceptionally stable.

His climbing speed was undeniably fast, but by the ti Xingtian reached the bottom of the valley, a full five hours had passed.

"THUD!"

Xingtian leaped over thirty ters and landed at the bottom of the valley.

He carefully placed Hong Yu on the ground and stood guard beside him like a loyal protector, completely still.

Hong Yu struggled to turn his head. Raising a weak arm, he took a Rejuvenation Pill from his Storage Ring. It was a Second Grade Healing Spirit Pill. After taking it, the feeling of weakness did indeed improve quite a bit. However, Hong Yu's current injuries were far too severe. Even with the help of the Rejuvenation Pill, it would take at least two or three months before he could walk again.

But with Yun ngyao's safety weighing on his mind, how could Hong Yu delay any longer?

"Little One, get out here," Hong Yu said.

"Hong Yu, that situation just now... I could only watch and couldn't help you. I'm truly sorry." Little One showed a rare serious expression, hanging his head with a bitter smile.

Hong Yu nodded. "I understand your predicant. Besides, I don't bla you. I just want you to figure out a way for to recover from my injuries as quickly as possible."

Right now, he could only manage a normal conversation. Beyond that, he couldn't even do sothing as basic as sitting up straight!

And Xingtian had not yet awakened, still considered a half-finished product.

Even after devouring the Unjust Death Black Lotus, it hadn't been able to truly refine it. It couldn't help him at all. His only hope was to ask Little One.

"Your injuries are too severe. Almost two-thirds of your bones are broken, and your internal organs are severely damaged. Unless you have a Fourth Grade or higher Healing Spirit Pill, it's pretty much impossible for you to recover in the short term," Little One said with a bitter smile after examining Hong Yu's condition.

"Even you don't have a solution?"

Hong Yu's expression changed slightly.

"Even at my fastest, I'd still need ten days to heal you," Little One said.

"Ten days? In ten days, Yaoyao will have already been refined into a Beauty Pill!"

As Hong Yu roared in anger, he aggravated his wounds, spitting out several mouthfuls of fresh blood and feeling a wave of dizziness.

Little One had a woeful expression, feeling utterly helpless.

The strength of his abilities was related to the unlocked level of the Profound Celestial Tower. Currently, only the First Layer was open, so the vast majority of his powers were still sealed. He wanted to help Hong Yu but was powerless to do so.

Just as Hong Yu was despairing, the Little Beast Huhu left the Profound Celestial Tower on its own and landed beside him.

Its furry body crouched next to Hong Yu. A small paw gently nudged his arm. Its gem-like, intelligent eyes shimred with tears. "Huhu... Huhu..."

"Don't cry, Huhu. I'm fine."

Hong Yu forced a weak smile.

Even though Huhu couldn't speak, Hong Yu could still feel the concern in its eyes.

"Hu!"

Huhu straightened up and suddenly patted its chest. "Huhu! Huhu!"

"You're saying you can heal ?" Hong Yu was stunned.

"Huhu!"

The Little Beast nodded eagerly.

Without waiting for Hong Yu to say anything else, it hopped onto his body.

The little guy sat cross-legged on Hong Yu's chest like a human. A gentle breeze rustled its fluffy black and white fur, and the three tufts of golden hair on its forehead suddenly blood with a soft golden light. The golden light spread, pouring into Hong Yu's body under Huhu's guidance.

As the golden light entered his body, Hong Yu trembled slightly.

The feeling was like refreshing rain after a long drought, or a ray of sunshine in a world of ice and snow.

Warm, gentle, and sacred!

This was the sensation Hong Yu felt from the golden light emanating from Huhu.

As the golden light circulated through his body, Hong Yu's injuries—which would have stumped countless master physicians—began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye. Under the envelopnt of the golden light, his broken bones reconnected and nded. His torn ridians were subrged in a golden ocean.

The cracks on his internal organs were also enveloped by the golden light, gradually smoothing over, healing, and returning to their original state.

"So... so comfortable."

Hong Yu couldn't help but let out a low moan.

He was bathed in the golden light.

It was three double-hours later when Hong Yu finally opened his eyes again.

Two sharp glints of light flashed past as Hong Yu's dull eyes regained their clarity and forr sharpness.

As the corners of his lips curved up, a trace of cold severity was added to his usual gentleness.

He lowered his head slightly and gently patted the Little Beast. "Huhu, thank you!"

"Hu?"

The Little Beast looked up at Hong Yu, its watery eyes showing a hint of exhaustion, but even more inquiry and concern.

Hong Yu's heart ward, and he nodded. "I'm all better now. Thank you!"

"Hu!"

The Little Beast grinned, wanting to stand up and show off as usual, but as soon as it got up, it staggered and fell into Hong Yu's arms. A long, faint snore ca from the little creature.

"Huhu, what's wrong with you?" Hong Yu panicked.

Little One said, "Don't worry. It just used up too much energy to save you and has fallen into a deep sleep."

"Will it have any negative effects on him?" Hong Yu asked.

Little One pondered for a mont before saying, "Rest assured, this little thing is very clever. It definitely kept its energy consumption within its limits. Let it rest well, and it will wake up on its own when it has recovered. However, when it does wake up, I reckon you'll have to pay a hefty price!"

"A hefty price is nothing. Even if it wants to eat Dragon Flesh, I'll go to the Earth Dragon and get it for him in the future!" Hong Yu said with a determined gaze, cradling the Little Beast.

"Mm!"

Little One nodded.

He then brought Huhu into the tower's space. After all, the Profound Celestial Tower was the safest place.

"Little One, can you sense the environnt at the bottom of the cliff? I need to know where the exit is!" Hong Yu asked.

Little One hesitated for a mont. "There seems to be a strange energy protecting the bottom of this cliff, limiting my Perception. You'll have to rely on yourself to get out of here."

"Understood."

Hong Yu nodded.

He stood up and, walking side by side with Xingtian, began searching for a way out from the bottom of the cliff.

The area at the bottom of the cliff was imnse. Hong Yu walked for a full three hours without finding an exit, but then a clear stream appeared ahead. Hong Yu's expression jolted. "There's water!"

As long as there was a water source, he would most likely be able to find an exit.

Hong Yu followed the stream, which resulted in several more hours of travel. Four and a half hours later, Hong Yu finally found the source of the water. However, when he saw the true face of this stream's origin, the expression on his face changed completely...

"This... How is this possible?"
