They slept together, literally. After a long guiding session, the first ti in a while that Rise overexerted himself. Kamile’s mana toxins even surprised him; feeling guilty was inevitable.
If only...
However, those thoughts were dropped as quickly as they ca. Rise was not one to wallow in things he had already done. What mattered was the surprise, Kamille rembering the last ti, and his mories did not reset for so reason.
Rise peacefully slept in Kamille’s embrace, he montarily set aside the plans he had and the threat on the horizon which slowly creeping on them.
Kamille did not ask questions after that. As the long kiss ended, he wrapped his arms around Rise and let himself be guided.
Only the clouds and the wind accompanied them, sohow what one called a peaceful reunion, except for the fight, of course.
"You’re saying... we’re in a novel?" Kamille asked after so ti, picking up the simplest yet the most crucial one from Rise’s explanation.
Rise nodded in a rare solemnity.
Going back an hour ago when Rise woke up.
"I... Guild Leader, let explain." Rise began his explanation without questions. He looked at Kamille and intertwined their hands. "But first... I’ll test sothing."
Thinking that sounded right, Rise shook his head.
"No, this is not because I don’t trust you. It’s a precaution. Ugh, whatever, tell if you can hear this, Guild Leader." Rise took a deep breath and looked straight into Kamille’s eyes and mumbled, "One day, Epsilon, the protagonist will co and do his main character shit."
Usually, if he said Epsilon by only his na, the censorship or sothing would not work, as it was rely a na. However, if Epsilon was said on the sa line as his role, the protagonist, the censorship would be triggered.
This censorship was tested so many tis with Hayes and teh Dino’s gang. On simple occasions, it only made his words as though the listener could not hear him, or the words were incomprehensible if written.
Rise had deduced that only those aware of this world orwho had awakened their consciousness would be able to understand. But with Thalia, it was probably deeper than that. It should had sothing to do with one’s character having deviated enough from their roles or close to it.
Well, anyway, Rise did not dwell deeper on why things happened or the reasons for them.
Then, if the extre were done, like saving those people who were connected to the plot, a reaction from the world would be triggered.
In fact, saying, "This world is a novel," also triggered a heavy restriction as well.
He wanted to test Kamille with this; he stared at him and waited. Nervousness seed apparent on his face since Kamille grasped his hand, his thumb gently brushing over the back of Rise’s hand.
"Epsilon is the protagonist and will co to do his main character shit," Kamille repeated almost word for word to prove he had heard it.
Although his tone sounded too serious, saying ’main character shit’, Rise bit his lips and laughed in amusent. This also lessened the impact of hearing Epsilon’s na from Kamille’s mouth, sothing he constantly dreaded.
Kamille finally smiled, seeing Rise laugh, decreasing the gloomy aura he once had significantly.
"Can you repeat that?" Rise teased.
"What, main character shit?" Kamille repeated with the sa impassive tone, which made Rise laugh again.
Kamille knew what word made him laugh, satisfying Rise.
"Whew, that’s fortunate." Rise sighed in relief. His laughter subsided, but the tension only loosened ever so slightly.
They were only starting in this conversation, sothing Rise always wanted to do, but opportunity stopped him. Now, that no longer applies.
Since the world also did not take action when the ’male lead’ heard those words.
"Guild Leader, rember when I approached you in the red zone?"
Rise started with the very first mory Kamille had between them. He did the talking while Kamille listened, not interrupting. Rise’s voice was enough for Kamille to hear, as if still cautious.
With that foundation, he introduced the past life. Rise thought he might stumbled in his words a bit, making himself bare but found out that was not teh case.
His tone and words were as steady as they could be.
"We... I’ve always been in love with you, from the past and even more so now. I’m your guide then too, but... our relationship isn’t like what you know."
The bitterness and resentnt faded, but were not forgotten. Rise told Kamille his grievances, and so confessed the betrayal he felt when he was finally labelled as humanity’s traitor.
Rise could sense the emotion and how Kamille’s expression changed with each of his words, but did not interrupt and only tightened their intertwined hands.
"I already realized that the you from then, might also be controlled by the author, like how it was with . The proof was how each..." Rise smiled, convinced by this. "...Kamille will lose control at the mont of my death."
The vision he had of that gate, which he knew truly happened, the interactions with the mory Kamille... and the way Rise happened to shorten the distance between them as though it was inevitable.
This was no coincidence.
Kamille... probably loved him in the past, too. The mories ca back as he told them, as if reminiscing.
"Now, I realized... if you don’t like , there’s no way you’ll tolerate to the extent of being intimate with . Also, you did not dispel any rumors of us being together, too." Rise laughed and eased the tension that appeared in Kamille’s face the mont the word death ca from Rise’s mouth.
In fact, he pondered a lot about it too in these past few weeks, comparing KAmille’s action then to the different side he knew at the present.
Although Rise had no way of knowing what exactly Kamille’s thoughts were or what transpired with him in the past, the most obvious signs were easy to decipher now that he was clearheaded.
"It was just that... the author fuck us up using Epsilon, and their bullshits." Rise’s smile faded. "Guild Leader... ah, no, Kamille... your role in that novel is the male lead of Epsilon,"
Rise chuckled, seeing Kamille grimace. "And I’m a villain,"
This ti, Kamille rely shot an eyebrow. Rise giggled at that; it seed he was at least convinced of this role. Well, Rise also thought the sa way.
He began to tell the plot in this section of the conversation, at least to what he knew. He did not forget to ntion the eting with mory Kamille and what they talked about, which was crucial to all these things, especially the concept of Resets.
And since Kamille had personally experienced the Reset himself, he already had an impression of how it worked.
Thus, after almost an hour of talking, Kamille finally reacted, leading to that question. It was very simple and appeared to be a shallow reaction, but Rise did not think so.
Rise did not need a review of what he said; that would be unnecessary. A signal that Kamille understood was a great one, and he did deliver.
"We’re in a never-ending terrible fuckery of the author, and I intend to ruin that."
Kamille seed to process what he said, and next thing Rise knew, he was once again buried in the other’s warm embrace, and it was tight.
Rise paused for a mont and responded by hugging him back.
Kamille’s breath brushed against Rise’s ears and whispered, which made him buried hislf in the other’s arms further.
"Use . Like that mory said... You can use however you want, Rise."
Kamille’s eyes glead with crimson before he shut them and buried his head in the crook of Rise’s neck.
He would stop running away and embrace the madness within him in exchange for that power... that power that would help destroy everything in Rise’s path.
Even if it was himself.
