Rise could not say that this ruined world was very important to the plot, but it contains crucial characters for sure, for the future Epsilon, one that greatly helped his progress as the protagonist.
Zenos was one, Dan was another. And in the end, Epsilon would prevail and conquer the world like it was nothing.
Everything was purely nonsense from his perspective, but that would happen, regardless of his feelings.
"Oh, it’s bigger than expected."
The city built to serve as the last stronghold of humanity seed far more magnificent than the rumors. Rise had not seen it before, finding the place to be boring.
Rise looked down, putting his hand above his eyes as though wanting to see the place a bit clearer.
It still looked like a boring place, but bigger.
It was the night, but the day was not much different from the intensity of darkness. Standing at the top of the tallest building in the city, Rise swept his eyes around, observing every nook and cranny.
As the wind blew against his face, the cloak on his head was almost pulled down, but a hand quickly put it in place again. Rise glanced at his side.
"Guild Leader," he called.
"Kamille."
Rise chuckled at that. As the plans were not to make their connection known, he had to drop calling him with familiarity.
Yet, wasn’t it calling him by his na more familiar? Kamille did not think so. Rise must not have heard himself calling out Guild Leader to think that.
Of course, Rise knew.
Rise called him again, "Kamille."
"Mn?" Kamille observed their surroundings, but unlike Rise’s casual swept over.
"We’re doing this." Rise reached out his hand, "Together?"
Kamille paused, looked at his face, before clasping Rise’s hand firmly and nodding.
"Together."
Rise’s smile stretched to his ears, and he nodded, intertwining their hands.
When he looked ahead, his expression changed, and the smile already faded. The sa with Kamille. Their expressions mirrored each other.
The two stood in silence, waiting for sothing. And not long after, an explosion erupted at the far entrance of the city.
"He sure is efficient," Rise praised, and without saying more, he felt his body float. There was no need for words; the fire signal that the operation officially comnced.
From the rooftop, they landed inside the headquarters of this world’s greatest powers, silently.
The wind beca calm as though a storm was about to co, and the darkness lingered ever more prominently than usual.

"What’s going on?" A shout ca about, annoyed by the commotion.
"They said there’s an explosion."
"What? Explosion? All of a sudden?" The man with a pot belly entered the room, his curly hair was not yet dry, indicating he just finished showering.
"President!" They all saluted, but the man waved his hand.
"So, what is this about the explosion?" He walked towards a seat casually pulled from sowhere.
The place looked leisurely enough that it would be hard to think that almost the great powers of this world were present. The sa thing could not be done in the Federation.
"Probably a conflict with those outsiders," An old woman comnted while brushing her blonde hair, which had already thinned out. "It has been like a week?"
At the ntion of outsiders, agreent resounded in the room. They also began to criticize the actions of these so-called outsiders, while also criticizing their own.
"Hmmm." The President did not interrupt but beca lost in thought.
"President, should we take action against them?" A man wearing glasses asked. In front of him were piled docunts which also filled with petitions about this matter.
The President did not answer imdiately, prompting everyone to go silent. After a while, he stroked his beard and looked around.
"How about... we test them first?"
"Test?"
"Hmm. We can’t attack blindly." He looked at the only young man in the room. "What do you think?"
The young man’s position appeared to be high as the others looked at him and waited silently for his answer.
"I also think so." The young man agreed, and no words followed.
However, the mont that he spoke, the people inside found themselves holding their breath. The President rely smiled, but it was a wonder whether the water on his forehead was sweat or water from his hair.
"That’s it. Call Thompson now."
He began to mobilize his n.
And as this eting was happening, two outsiders were on the way. Looking more leisurely than they were.
"M-Mons...ter..." his pupils dilated before he collapsed, breathing his last.
"The last one," a man with a cloak draped over his head pointed at the man sitting on his own urine, looking up with horrfied face. He rely looked down and asked playfully, "Tell , where are your bosses?"
"B-Bo-Boss..." his mouth cluttered, unable to say a decent word. He then hiccupped when another man stepped forward, and the light showed his figure. The dark crimson eyes gave a frightening glow under his cloak.
Rembering how the man made his comrades disappear with a wave of his hand without having to utter a word or scream, overwheld him with fear. He suddenly felt suffocated
"Ooh...ughh..." The man suddenly strangled himself.
"Well," the outsider, Rise, frowned and shook his head. "This one is also done."
Rise looked around where corpses and unconscious guards were scattered.
"Do we need to search this place thoroughly?"
He did not want to do such a tiring thing, and pointless killing was not their agenda. Every ti they entered a floor, a fight was inevitable.
Although the two managed to control the casualty, so people truly were too loyal or perhaps too stubborn for their own good and decided to fight to their deaths.
"How co they aren’t on the top floor, or maybe underground instead?" It was likely to be on the underground then.
"We don’t have ti to search every room." Kamille waved his hand, and the wind separated the dead fromthe rely unconscious.
Rise agreed to that. "Should we split up?" He suggested.
This was a sound suggestion, but Kamille shook his head.
"It’s unnecessary."
Rise looked at him, eyes filled with trust. He did not have the slightest doubt seeing Kamille’s confidence; Rise only waited for him to do sothing.
Kamille’s eyes glowed fiercely, and darkness enveloped him as though about to consu him. Startled, Rise was about to hold onto him, but held himself.
No, nothing would happen.
Despite being nervous, he waited for Kamille’s state to go normal. Soon, his eyes flickered.
"Found them." He whispered, then furrowed his brow, eting Rise’s eyes.
"What?" Rise reached out to hold onto his arm. "Did you see sothing else?"
Kamille nodded.
"A noble."
