The next few days were all about preparation. Rise had this urgency that was not there since he started this plan. After what happened, he knew that the author had already targeted them.
There was no need to be polite. Of course, they still had to be cautious, but hiding his plans was not that necessary anymore.
They were called ’rebels,’ and the author even tried to kill Kamille. The two sides were now preparing for that confrontation. While they won the first battle against fate, Rise was aware that the scale tilted more towards the author.
In the main plot, Rise would not be able to do much there. What he could only do was prepare for it and not be heavily involved, just as his role entailed.
Rise would not risk it even with a bookmark on him.
Kamille was also cooperative. Mostly. He had yet to stabilize his emotions. Rise was the only one who could approach him. The others were, to say the least, not deserving to talk to him.
While being Guild Leader, only a few could really approach him; Kamille’s humanity was still dominant, and so he was patient towards fellow humans.
Now, he could not be bothered. Of course, give it a few more days or weeks, and Kamille would be able to figure it out.
The plan to take over the world settled on Kamille putting all his presence in every corner of the dying world. Specifically, taking control of the gates.
While they were halfway, Rise asked Kamille a question, sothing that occupied his curiosity.
"Can you do the sa in our world?" Rise did not know if it was a dumb question, but he wanted to know.
Kamille would not ridicule him for that, anyway.
"It’s possible, but not in the current situation," Kamille patiently explained. "Our world needs to be in a similar or close to this state before I can. My rank should be enough, but I’m not connected yet to sothing."
Kamille had only been awakened; instincts and inheritance to his being were not enough to fully master his identity. Furthermore, he had this hunch that he was not truly complete yet.
He had to do sothing, to connect to sothing to do so. As for what that was, he did not know. Perhaps only by visiting the realm beyond the gates would he be able to perceive what that sothing was.
Rise nodded, pursing his lips. "But, can you take over so gates?"
He did not give up. Rise was one to fully take advantage of their resources, and Kamille being a noble was like a trump card no one expected.
Actually, it was strange. The author might actually know, but it was not ntioned in the book, so Rise was not sure.
Was this so kind of... a plot hole?
Still, it was a waste not to use Kamille’s noble identity.
Kamille stared at Rise and thought for a mont.
"We can try." He nodded, thinking it was plausible, but he was uncertain.
Their world was still in the early stage of invasion, and it was stable for the most part. Not to ntion, nobles heavily influenced that world. And the ’plot’ took place there.
Rise grinned widely; he was already satisfied with that answer.
"As long as we can try," he bead, and the two returned to Baby the behemoth, which they mainly used as their transportation.
They could fly, but it would be boring, and Rise would not be able to steal so intimate monts.
Rise cooed at his baby first, and the behemoth wagged its tail as he petted it. He smiled and turned to Kamille.
"I rembered sothing." Rise narrowed his eyes, mischief in his eyes. This had bugged him. "You already know Riri’s with ."
In fact, Rise had suspicions about it. Kamille’s attitude toward him after he returned was strange. This man might have already confird his mory was intact, but still played along.
Kamille nodded, not concealing anything.
"I had soone to monitor the Union headquarters."
Rise clicked his tongue. How dumb he was! However, he could not be blad for this entirely.
How would he know that Kamille also retained his mories? The book had not said anything, and the item did not have such a thing in the description.
If not, why would he even need to wait and et Kamille in the gathering instead?
Rise pouted.
"Why didn’t you co to instead? "
Kamille got closer and wrapped his arms around Rise as he looked at him.
"I was confused. And mad." Kamille was truly mad at that ti.
It was not really about Rise, but about the situation. He was also close to losing control.
Rise also returned the embrace and looked up at him. A playful smile on his lips. "Was it like, you’re so mad that you want to lock up kind of madness?"
After everything passed and they talked it out, Rise could now joke about it. It was ssy, but going back, it was not that unnecessary either.
Kamille’s pupils flickered, and he tightened his hold on Rise’s waist.
"Even now. I want to do that." His crimson pupils were now permanent, sothing he could not change, but there was no need between them.
Rise knew how intimidating they were, but for him, he could only feel a deep desire and passion that his gaze carried just the sa.
His grin widened, a spark in his eyes.
"Ohh, like, you want to put in a cage or... Put a shackle on my ankle so I won’t be able to leave the room?" Rise’s voice was slow, but the excitent could not be mistaken for anything else.
Kamille pinched his waist, eyes a deep shade.
"Don’t test ."
Rise kissed his chin with a wide grin on his face.
"But I want to. So, answer ."
"Not in a cage," Kamille responded. A cage was too small, even if it was a huge one. "I won’t put a shackle on you." It was too restrictive and might injure Rise’s skin.
"Then, what?" Rise pouted. "Thought you still wanted to lock up?"
For soone in a dangerous situation of being locked up forever, Rise sure indulges Kamille’s madness.
Kamille leaned and kissed Rise’s earlobe as he added.
"I’ll hide you in a place where you won’t be able to escape." His gaze flickered with absolute madness. "There’s no need for a cage or shackles."
The whole place would be a paradise, but it was a prison just the sa.
