Exclamations of both shock and amazent resounded from the crowd of recruits upon seeing the young man’s actions.
Jumping 3 ters into the air wasn’t sothing that shocked them the most. Instead, it was the fact that he was able to leap over 20 ters into the ring, from a standing position, without the running montum.
Even though they had not been inford much about NEXUS, obviously even the organization’s na, they knew that this organization was run by the governnt.
And more than that, from learning about each other, they realized that only those that were skilled in terms of combat and had a good character were recruited, rather, received the invite.
Even though they had never seen Peter, their instructor in action, they always felt that he was not one to be ssed with.
Now, seeing soone demonstrate his abilities, they finally began understanding what awaited them. This was sothing that made them so excited that they were getting impatient to get started with the combat assessnt.
The young man, upon landing, gazed at the recruits, feeling proud, looking at the expressions on their faces, and their exclamations.
Though, he noticed that there were two ladies that did not seem to be amazed, and apart from them, there was also another young man, who did not have much of a reaction.
This made him raise his brows slightly, as he beca interested in the group of three. But for now, he gazed towards the area where the Richard, instructors and staff mbers were seated.
Seeing the slight frown that was on Peter’s face, Alex, the young man, imdiately understood that Peter was not happy with his showcase.
And Alex understood why that was the case. After all, among all these recruits, not all of them would be recruited into the organization.
For those that would be allowed to leave, being shown sothing like this, it would definitely raise so questions. And, the issue regarding mutants was sothing that was still being kept as a secret from the public.
Still, Alex did not think much about it. In any case, those that would leave the training camp, after failing to et the recruitnt requirents, they would have their mories altered.
Therefore, Alex did not care that much about the dissatisfaction from Peter, and went ahead and introduced himself.
"Hello, recruits. My na is Alex Dawson, and I will be the one in charge of your combat assessnt today.
The rules of the combat assessnt are simple, a fight. You have to fight, using all the skills that you have, but you have to adhere to the fact that, killing is not allowed here.
But more than that, you are not allowed to injure soone, especially if they have decided to surrender.
While fighting against n, either a lady versus a man, or a man versus another, you are prohibited from attacking the groin area.
This is a combat assessnt, not a fight where you need to use all thods in order to win. We are testing the skills, not the wit.
As for when facing a lady as an opponent, I believe that all of you know where you should avoid attacking.
If any one of you dares to go against what I have just said, not only will you be disqualified, I will also cripple you, personally.
During the fight, the decision on who wins will be judged based on the skills demonstrated. Beat your opponent until they give in, or, if you fight until 10 minutes elapse, the judgnt will be made according to the person who has dealt the most damage.
So, I’m going to call out the nas of the contestants, based on the recruit number that you were given when you arrived at the training camp." Alex spoke enthusiastically.
He was not the type to put on airs, but even then, he was quite proud, and kind of liked to show off. Regardless, for those that had no grudge against him, he was very easy going.
While Alex was explaining the rules of the combat assessnt, Kate was lost in her own world.
This began the mont that Alex jumped from the stands, directly into the ring, which was almost over 20 ters away.
When she saw this, while others were still amazed, and exclaiming, she rembered the conversation that she had with Michael a few days ago.
At that ti, Michael had asked her what kind of superpower would she like to have, in case there was a possibility of her acquiring one.
Even though she replied honestly, still, she was left with many thoughts, which Michael did not answer.
But now, seeing this, she finally understood what Michael was implying. This Alex, he was definitely not simple. There was a possibility that he had superpowers.
Otherwise, it would definitely be impossible for him to be able to achieve what he had done.
And as she thought about this, she realized, NEXUS was not as simple as Michael had introduced back then. It might still be a governnt organization, but it hid more.
If not for the previous call that Michael made, she would have thought that Michael had no information about the presence of people with superpowers within this organization.
But now, she was just wondering, why was Michael not willing to reveal this information to her, on the day that he had talked about NEXUS?
The information that he had given her, even though most of it had not yet been proven, at least, most of what she had seen was just as Michael had told her.
Looking at Richard, who was here for quite a while now, from the way that Peter and the others were treating him, it was clear that he held high position.
So, the probability of him being the leader of NEXUS was extrely high.
While she was deeply engrossed in her own thoughts and confusion, Lina, who was sitting beside her, suddenly nudged her slightly.
Kate ca back to her senses, looking at Lina with confusion in her eyes. She could not understand why Lina had nudged her.
Looking at Kate’s confused face, Lina gestured towards the ring, which made Kate look over. And the mont that she did, her eyes locked into the green eyes that were looking back at her.
At this mont, Alex had his brows raised slightly, and there was a touch of displeasure in his eyes.
He had been busy explaining about the rules of the combat assessnt, when he noticed that there was soone that was not paying attention.
At first, he thought that it was just montary. So, he continued, but a few seconds later, he realized that the lady was not paying much attention.
This left him wondering, could it be that this lady already knew about the rules of the combat assessnt? Or was it possible that there was sothing else that was distracting her?
Initially, Alex had developed so curiosity towards her, as he was one of the two ladies that had not reacted much to his impressive show.
But now, his impression of her was lowered slightly. Even though he was impressed by her beauty, to a mber of NEXUS, beauty was nothing.
In this organization, strength did the talking. If one was not strong enough, then they would not be favored by anyone.
"Young lady, may I know, what is your recruit number?" Upon noticing that Kate was finally paying attention, Alex imdiately asked.
At this mont, Kate felt extrely nervous. She had not expected that during the ti that she was not paying attention, she would attract the attention of this guy.
And now, when she was asked about her recruit number, she felt her heart skip a few beats. At the sa ti, she wondered, was it possible that she was going to be dismissed from the training camp?
But, she had already spent over a month here, and was unwilling to leave. Additionally, she felt that there was mystery surrounding NEXUS.
From the previous conversation with Michael, it was clear that he knew about sothing. But since he told her to cooperate, it was clear that it was not sothing that was going to be harmful to her.
Hence, she thought, she had to continue staying here, and officially join NEXUS. If she did that, not only would she have the chance of gaining revenge, there was also the issue about Michael.
That guy, he was of the sa age as her, but the skills and abilities that he possessed, they were out of this world. So, she thought, if she could gain so superpowers, she could be helpful to him.
Despite what she was thinking, she swiftly responded, "Sir, my recruit number is 17."
"Oh, 17? Since that is the case, then why don’t you help us kick off the combat assessnt? It seems that you are already in the know about the rules regarding this combat assessnt.
I am quite curious about the skill level that you possess, seeing that you seem to be quite young. Let see, who is your opponent?" Alex nodded his head as he said those words, before gazing towards one of the staff mbers on the stands.
