A Zerg claw raked across her thigh. Another slamd into her back, throwing her into a pile of rubble.

"Ah!" Yue Yue gasped, the taste of blood filling her mouth. Blood blurred her vision, dripping from a cut on her forehead. She tried to stand, but her strength was failing. Her robes were now stained a deep, ssy crimson.

"I... I can’t..." Yue Yue whispered. She looked up at the sky, her eyes hazy. Around her, the Zerg stopped attacking. They didn’t retreat; they simply stood in a circle, hissing softly, as if they were waiting for their master.

Suddenly, the sound of rhythmic clicking echoed through the silence. It wasn’t the sound of Zerg legs. It was the sound of high heels hitting stone.

The voice was airy and mocking, making Yue Yue’s skin crawl. She squinted through the blood in her eyes.

Walking through the circle of deadly Zerg was Lin En. She wasn’t disheveled or scared. She was dressed glamorously, her hair perfect, walking toward the injured Yue Yue in pointed high heels as if she were walking a fashion runway.
