A playful glint flashed in Tu Xiao’an’s demonic eyes. He watched coldly as Jiang Xingze approached, one step, two steps, three steps, until the man and Snake were no more than three ters apart.
"Don’t be scared, little treasure. I’ll take you ho."
Jiang Xingze pushed the strange voice he’d heard to the back of his mind, focused only on capturing this rare Snake Species of unknown origin.
In an instant, Jiang Xingze froze as if turned to stone. The Silver White Snake before him had suddenly vanished. A flash of white entered his vision, and as he looked up, an expression of utter disbelief crossed his face.
His entire body trembled violently. He was completely stunned, as if struck mute and numb. He could neither speak nor move.
The Silver White Snake had appeared on his shoulder like a Ghost, and in a flash, its cold body was coiled tightly around his neck.
Its body, over a ter long, wrapped around his neck, tightening bit by bit.
Suffocation. A choking sensation invaded his body and mind. With eyes wide in terror, Jiang Xingze could only stare out of his periphery at the Silver White Snake wrapped around his neck. He felt like he was going to lose his mind.
"HISSS..."
The hiss of the Snake Race echoed by his ear, terrifying Jiang Xingze so much that his palms began to sweat, a tingling numbness spread from the soles of his feet to his scalp, and he broke out in a cold sweat. It was as if a Demon was hiding in the darkness; you couldn’t see it, but it could devour you at any mont.
The Silver White Snake hissed strangely next to Jiang Xingze’s ear and opened its mouth, revealing a pair of shockingly sharp fangs that it pressed firmly against his skin.
He felt as if he were being held hostage by a thug with a dagger. The fangs were like that sharp blade, promising a fatal wound at the slightest touch.
It all happened too fast, in barely a second. No one in the crowd saw it clearly. One mont, nothing; the next, the Silver White Snake that had appeared out of nowhere was perched on Jiang Xingze’s neck, its sharp fangs radiating a bone-chilling cold.
Then, everyone stared with terrified eyes at the Silver White Snake on Jiang Xingze’s neck, letting out short, spasmodic gasps, as if they had all been turned to stone.
’That Snake is terrifying! How did it get onto Jiang Xingze’s neck so stealthily? No one saw it happen, not even Jiang Xingze himself.’
Jiang Xingze’s neck went stiff and his eyes glazed over, so terrified he felt like his soul was about to leap out of his body.
The first to react were Jiang Xingze’s underlings. Snapping back to their senses, they shouted, "Young Master Jiang, we’ll save you!"
"Don’t move! None of you move!"
Jiang Xingze scread in terror. He saw his underlings were about to reach for the Snake on his neck, and in response, its body began to coil tighter, inch by inch, until he couldn’t breathe.
Moreover, those deadly fangs were on the verge of piercing his skin.
Those fangs were more terrifying than any dagger. A small cut from a dagger was just a minor wound, but if those fangs broke the skin, it would an a dose of fatal Venom.
Everyone knew that the most terrifying part of a venomous snake wasn’t its fangs, but the Venom within them.
Especially a rare Snake Species like this one—its venom could kill even an elephant.
After being shouted at by Jiang Xingze, his underlings were at a complete loss. It was as if the Snake had taken Young Master Jiang hostage.
It was ridiculous. The scene was utterly absurd. They thought they had seen it all, but in all their years, this was the first ti they had ever witnessed a Snake holding a person hostage.
If they made a single move, the Snake would probably bite and kill Jiang Xingze instantly.
"Kneel."
Jiang Xingze’s face turned a deathly pale. He felt the hand of the Death God beckoning to him when suddenly, a voice devoid of all emotion sounded by his ear.
The voice was real, entering his ear from the outside, accompanied by a cold puff of air.
A wave of terror washed over Jiang Xingze. His hair stood on end as if by magic, and his mind, dazed and confused, went completely blank.
’The Snake was talking again.’
’This ti, the voice was right next to his ear. He couldn’t have misheard.’
"If you don’t want to die, kneel for right now. Otherwise, I’ll bite through your neck."
The Snake’s mouth opened slightly, emitting human words in a voice so soft that only he could hear it.
"You... you... you’re a Demon! A Demon!"
This ti, he didn’t need to ask if anyone else had heard. There was no mistaking it. The Snake was right there, speaking and breathing into his ear.
’A Snake Demon! This is a Snake Demon! It’s even more terrifying than a Mutated Bloodsucker Snake.’
At that mont, everyone on the scene was astonished by the Snake’s behavior. It had taken a man hostage with demonic intelligence, and its bewitching Snake Pupils glinted with a knowing light.
Shock. The crowd was utterly shocked. Many who disliked Jiang Xingze were so stunned they even forgot to mock him.
Just as the crowd was about to erupt in discussion, they saw Jiang Xingze’s knees slam heavily into the ground. Such was the force that he gouged two small pits in the dirt.
’What’s he doing? Why did he kneel? Did the Snake on his neck scare him so much his legs gave out?’
The onlookers were completely baffled by Jiang Xingze’s kneeling. Moreover, he was kneeling directly toward the Snake Catchers from Bai Town.
Jiang Xingze remained on his knees, his face as pale as a sheet of paper. He then spoke to the crowd of Snake Catchers. "Fathers, I was wrong! I shouldn’t have looked down on you! You’re all my real fathers, and I’m just your bastard son! Please, forgive !"
Uh...!
The mont he spoke, the area fell dead silent. The Snake Catchers on the scene all wore bizarre expressions.
’What is he doing? Has the Snake scared him out of his mind?’
"Young Master Jiang, what are you doing? Get up!"
His underlings looked as if they had been struck by lightning. Jiang Xingze’s words had brought utter disgrace upon them and had completely shad the Wild Mountain Group.
But Jiang Xingze seed to have lost his mind. He began kowtowing to the crowd, weeping and wailing as he did. "Fathers, please forgive this unworthy son! I’m kowtowing to you!"
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Each kowtow landed with a loud thud. It was a textbook example of a resounding kowtow.
"Young Master Jiang, have you gone mad?! Get up! Stop kowtowing!"
Jiang Xingze paid them no heed, simply continuing to kowtow to the crowd with all his might. He was putting his whole back into it.
Perched on his neck, the Silver White Snake repeatedly opened and closed its mouth, directing Jiang Xingze’s every move. But this was a subtle display that no one else witnessed.
"Haha, the kid must be crazy! This is hilarious, absolutely hilarious! A mont ago he was arrogant and domineering, acting like he owned the world, and now he’s kowtowing to us country folk and calling us ’father’!"
One by one, the Snake Catchers burst into laughter. The situation might have been bizarre, but that didn’t matter. It was just too satisfying.
It was a truly gratifying sight. Many people even took out their phones to record Jiang Xingze’s utterly absurd behavior.
In the crowd, Shen Qingshan and Shen Xinru looked at each other in utter disbelief. Watching Jiang Xingze kowtow again and again was just plain creepy to Shen Xinru.
"Dad, what’s wrong with him? Could that Snake know so kind of Demon Technique? The mont it got on his neck, he started acting so ridiculously."
Shen Qingshan was just as baffled. He stared warily at the Silver White Snake on Jiang Xingze’s neck. The Snake’s bewitching green eyes shone with a cold light. Although it didn’t look as ferocious as a typical venomous snake, it now seed to exude a treacherous strangeness from every scale.
