When Lin Xinghai arrived at the base, most of the rcenaries had already gathered. Everyone was organizing their gear with serious expressions.
Over the past two days, under Shen Han’s arrangent, the squad leaders had conducted psychological counseling for their mbers. As a result, everyone in the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps knew they might go to war directly with the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps on this mission.
This made everyone feel a surge of fighting spirit amidst their nervousness.
After all, since the matter of the Morgan Conglorate hadn’t been disclosed, these ordinary mbers didn’t think the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps was anything special, especially after the last two days of special training.
The previous night, before training ended, Lin Xinghai had conducted a training assessnt for everyone. These 30 n were already skilled marksn to begin with. After the training, everyone’s Gun Technique proficiency had surpassed 50%. Twenty-five of them exceeded 60% proficiency, and ten had even surpassed 70%.
What did this an, exactly?
With 60% Gun Technique proficiency, they could hit a normal Zombie within 50 ters without even needing to aim, relying purely on instinct.
More importantly, at this level, they were already capable of killing High Level Zombies.
As for 70% Gun Technique proficiency, that was enough to challenge for a spot in the top 100 on the shooting leaderboards.
A lineup like this was absolutely stacked. Even the top Third Level rcenary Corps were only on par with this at best.
It was precisely because of this that their fighting spirit was high, and they felt no fear at all.
Of course, those who knew the inside story, like Lin Xinghai, were confident but not nearly as optimistic.
He passed through the first-floor training hall, greeting people as he quickly made his way to the second floor.
The others had already arrived. Fang Tianhe was in the middle of finalizing their deploynt, but he stopped when he saw Lin Xinghai arrive.
"Ah Xing, you’re here. Our battle plan needs a few minor adjustnts. You’re just in ti to listen in," Fang Tianhe said, waving him over.
Lin Xinghai walked over, curious. He imdiately saw a weapons manifest lying on the table.
The first line of the manifest read: 4 Dongfeng-I single-person missiles. Below it were so other strange and unusual pieces of equipnt.
Lin Xinghai’s eyes lit up at the sight. These Dongfeng-I single-person missiles were the terrifying things Shen Han had ntioned before—a single one could take out a cha.
"Captain, you’re amazing! You actually managed to get your hands on these." Lin Xinghai gave him a thumbs-up.
"Yeah! We’re sure to win this ti," Xu Haishui couldn’t help but shout.
"Don’t be so overconfident. The weapons they have are definitely no worse than ours. And while these single-person missiles can theoretically destroy a cha in one hit, that’s only if the enemy can’t dodge or block in ti."
"Take , for example. If I’m prepared, I’m 50% confident I can dodge a surprise attack from one of these missiles. Even if I can’t dodge, if I block it with my Vibrating Giant Blade, the damage to the cha’s fra won’t exceed 30%."
"So, until the final outco is decided, we absolutely cannot let our guard down," Fang Tianhe said sternly.
"Okay, okay, I get it." Xu Haishui made a gesture of surrender, raising his hands.
Next, Fang Tianhe explained the use of the other weapons to the group.
Of course, the most important part was explaining under what circumstances they could launch a surprise attack with the single-person missiles.
"That’s all I have to say about the battle plan. Do you have anything to add?" Fang Tianhe asked after he finished.
Everyone shook their heads, indicating they had no issues.
"What about other matters? Anything to add there?" Fang Tianhe asked again.
"What has the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps been up to these past two days? Any news?" Lin Xinghai spoke up at this point.
"None. According to the intelligence I’ve gathered, they’ve been heading out early every morning and coming back very late."
"But the number of Elental Crystals they turn in each day is very small. I suspect they’ve been training outside these past few days." As he spoke about this, Fang Tianhe’s expression grew serious again.
"How can there be no intel at all? Didn’t you send people to tail them?" Lin Xinghai asked with a frown.
"Damn! Brother Hai, so you’re that kind of person! Why didn’t I think of that before? You should have brought it up sooner!" Xu Haishui said, slapping his thigh.
The others looked at Lin Xinghai with a strange glint in their eyes. Even Fang Tianhe was a little surprised; he hadn’t expected Lin Xinghai to have thought things through to this extent.
"It’s no use. They can’t be tracked. Over the past two days, I hired two separate hunter squads to try and follow them. But the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps is too cautious. They always enter the city and do a loop. In a place like that, the hunter squads just don’t have the ability to keep up." Fang Tianhe sounded a bit helpless by the end.
"Damn! Captain, I didn’t expect you to be that kind of person, too!" This ti, Xu Haishui slapped his thigh even harder.
"Shut up! Go downstairs and assemble the team mbers," Fang Tianhe snapped.
"Oh!" Xu Haishui knew he had misspoken and could only go downstairs obediently.
As for Lin Xinghai, he proceeded to ask several more questions, but the answers he received weren’t very satisfactory.
"Let’s just leave it at that. There shouldn’t be any major problems if we stick to the plan," Lin Xinghai said with a frown. The feeling of not having things under control made him very uncomfortable, but there was nothing to be done about it.
After that, everyone went down to the first floor, organized the team, and then headed to the rcenary Guild together.
"Any suggestions on what kind of mission we should take?" Fang Tianhe asked once they reached the rcenary Guild. His gaze, of course, fell mainly on Lin Xinghai.
"You decide," Lin Xinghai said.
Fang Tianhe nodded and then accepted a "City Exploration" mission.
The difficulty of this type of mission was moderate. After accepting a mission in a given city, the system would randomly assign them an unexplored area and also issue a multi-function detector to the rcenary Corps.
The rcenary Corps that accepted the mission needed to take this multi-function detector and explore the mission area. The detection process itself was simple; they just had to let the detector perform a scan.
This multi-function detector integrated many detection features, including X-ray vision, infrared scanning, sonar detection, and so on.
Once the rcenary Guild retrieved the multi-function detector and uploaded all the detection data into the system, they could get a general understanding of the internal conditions of buildings, what equipnt they contained, and so on.
If any useful instrunts were discovered, a new mission would be posted for a rcenary Corps to accept.
Post a city exploration mission—discover resources or instrunts—post a mission to retrieve them.
This was pretty much the main operational workflow of the entire rcenary Guild.
Of course, there would also be so missions for clearing out Zombies or cooperating with the military.
Once the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps accepted the mission, the system quickly selected a random area based on their Level. The location chosen was a region with a danger level considered manageable for a Second Level rcenary Corps.
Soon, everyone saw the mission details: Explore eight streets in the Changping City East District.
Reward: 8,000 Points.
And following the details was an attached map with the designated area marked on it.
