Elder Wei’s expectations for Lin Xinghai were, to say the least, extrely high.
In fact, in his eyes, Lin Xinghai was far more important than those with a Genetic Assessnt of A Level.
After all, while geniuses with an A Level Genetic Assessnt were rare in the Star Shield Shelter, they were certainly not uncommon for the Hua Country as a whole.
Furthermore, if a genius with an A Level Genetic Assessnt failed to awaken a good Superpower and Special Physique, they were no different from those with B Level or even C Level assessnts after breaking through to the Blood Qi Realm.
It was precisely because of Lin Xinghai’s Superpower and Special Physique that he was paying such close attention to him.
In fact, when Lin Xinghai had previously fought a Hunter alone, he had already caught Elder Wei’s attention. Elder Wei had thought he was quite impressive.
But it was rely "impressive"—not yet beyond the scope of a normal genius.
However, the Speed Lin Xinghai had unleashed during the recent battle with the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps had truly given him a shock.
A Speed of 360 points was already comparable to an expert in the Blood Qi Realm, yet Lin Xinghai had only broken his second Genetic Lock.
This was beyond the scope of a genius. It was at the level of a Demon.
He hardly dared to imagine how terrifying Lin Xinghai would beco once he broke his fourth Genetic Lock.
The Seed Plan’s true need was for exactly this kind of Demon who surpassed the ordinary.
Furthermore, according to the data he’d collected, Lin Xinghai’s Special Physique, which allowed him to rapidly absorb Genetic dicine Liquid, was also extrely satisfactory.
It was likely a type of physique that could absorb Energy. While it didn’t directly increase combat power, it allowed for a Cultivation speed far exceeding others. That alone made this Special Physique no worse than any other.
It was especially critical, given humanity’s current precarious situation.
If not for these reasons, why would he, the supre leader of the Star Shield Shelter, have directly invited Lin Xinghai for a eting?
As for Lin Xinghai, hearing Elder Wei’s words and seeing the expectant look in his eyes made him feel imnse pressure, but also a burgeoning sense of pride.
"Elder Wei, rest assured, I will do my absolute best. But how does one participate in this Seed Plan? And what are the criteria for the assessnt?" Lin Xinghai asked.
"Our Hua Country’s ten strongest bases each hold the line against an Abyssal Passage. Inside every base is a Martial Arts Academy, where geniuses selected from across the country are taught. As long as you can distinguish yourself at the academy, you’ll naturally be able to join the Seed Plan."
"The school year starts on September 1st, which is over a month away, so there’s no rush. When the ti cos, I will arrange for soone to take you there."
"And when you get to the academy, the Star Shield Shelter will support you as much as possible, whether with connections or Cultivation Resources."
"At the sa ti, I hope that once you’ve made a na for yourself, you won’t forget us at the Star Shield Shelter. When you have so influence within the system, just get the country to give us so policy support. That’s all we ask." At last, Elder Wei revealed the purpose of his eting with Lin Xinghai.
Lin Xinghai had already suspected the other party would ask for sothing in return. Since the request wasn’t difficult, he nodded without hesitation.
At the sa ti, he was wondering whether he should ntion Liu Miaomiao. ’Given her Genetic Assessnt, there shouldn’t be any problem with her going as well.’
"Alright, now let’s talk about the Morgan Conglorate!" Elder Wei changed the subject, and the expressions of both Lin Xinghai and Fang Tianhe turned serious.
At the sa ti, they were curious as to how the Star Shield Shelter would make a move against the Morgan Conglorate.
"Truthfully, the Morgan Conglorate isn’t that frightening to us. We’ve been dealing with them for so many years that we’ve more or less identified all of their ard forces hidden within our Shelter. As long as we close the net, the Morgan Conglorate won’t be able to stir up any real trouble."
"However, Energy is a major problem. It’s the very reason we’ve never dared to move against the Morgan Conglorate. But last year, we discovered a damaged Geothermal Energy Extractor in a research institute in Tianshan City."
"Once it’s repaired and installed in our Shelter, the geothermal energy it extracts will be more than enough to make us self-sufficient."
"I began secretly laying the necessary pipes and support systems last year, under the guise of expanding the Shelter."
"The Geothermal Energy Extractor itself was moved to a secret military base outside the Shelter for repairs long ago. It’s almost fully repaired now; we just need to replace a few core components."
"Then, while we’re installing the Geothermal Energy Extractor, we’ll make our move on the Morgan Conglorate and wipe out all their personnel inside the Shelter in one fell swoop."
"However, it’s impossible that my activities over the past year have gone completely unnoticed. They’ve certainly guessed sothing is afoot and will undoubtedly try to sabotage our operation."
"I’m concerned the military will be short-staffed at that ti, so I plan to cooperate with the rcenary Guild and call upon reliable Third Level rcenary Corps for assistance. If you’re willing, I’ll add you to the operation’s roster," Elder Wei said.
"No problem," Fang Tianhe replied simply.
"We’ve already royally pissed off the Morgan Conglorate anyway. We certainly don’t mind kicking them while they’re down," Lin Xinghai added.
After he spoke, however, he asked in confusion, "But if we know the Morgan Conglorate will try to disrupt the installation, why don’t we eliminate them beforehand?"
"Ahem!" Elder Wei’s face flushed slightly as he explained, "As I said, we’ve *more or less* identified their ard personnel. That ans there’s still twenty to thirty percent we haven’t found."
"If we can’t eliminate all of them, I won’t be able to sleep at night. Who knows, one day they might launch an attack and destroy the Geothermal Energy Extractor."
"So I plan to use this operation to lure out all of the Morgan Conglorate’s people and wipe them out in one fell swoop."
Lin Xinghai nodded, the pieces finally clicking into place.
Elder Wei then gave them a rough outline of the plan. Of course, it was only a brief description; the detailed plans would remain confidential until the operation began.
He did, however, tell them the timing of the operation. It was set for one week from now.
The two of them stayed in Elder Wei’s office for a full half hour before they left.
As they were leaving the municipal building, those who were even slightly in-the-know looked at them differently.
The length of a eting with a leader is actually very telling. A private eting like this would normally last five to ten minutes at most. Even a trusted subordinate would only get to stay for fifteen or twenty minutes.
The fact that Lin Xinghai and Fang Tianhe had stayed in the office for a full half hour spoke volus.
So, the two who had been completely ignored on their way in were now constantly being greeted on their way out.
Fang Tianhe responded to each greeting politely, but despite this mont when he should have been riding high, he didn’t feel all that happy.
He knew that in a month, Lin Xinghai would be leaving their rcenary Corps. Though he had long anticipated this, he had never expected it to happen so soon.
