After destroying one cha, Lin Xinghai imdiately pulled back. His speed was so incredible that the nearby chas hoping to provide aid could only watch helplessly.
And just as Lin Xinghai had predicted, after he destroyed the cha, the mbers of the Morgan Conglorate finally grew fearful.
They slowed their pursuit, and the remaining nine chas ford an even tighter Defense Array.
Furthermore, as Lin Xinghai prepared to attack again, he was surprised to see that the chas were now holding their weapons horizontally in front of them to protect their cockpits.
Even when they needed to attack, they refused to use both hands. Instead, they switched to one-handed attacks, always keeping the other hand in front to protect the cockpit. For a mont, this left Lin Xinghai without an opportunity for a one-shot kill.
Of course, they could only protect the cockpit; the rest of the cha remained vulnerable.
SHINK! SHINK! SHINK!
Whenever Lin Xinghai found an opening, he would decisively thrust his Mjolnir forward. His attacks never missed, always striking accurately through existing breaches in his opponent’s outer armor, leaving one hole after another.
The holes didn’t look large, but the issue was that this kind of direct internal damage was far more severe than simple armor breaches. Each strike damaged large sections of the cha’s internal modules.
Of course, the Morgan Conglorate wasn’t just going to take the beating; they were constantly attempting to counterattack.
While it was difficult to hit Lin Xinghai with an Electromagnetic Railgun due to his constant high-speed movent, the chas had other attack thods. They could also use Micro Missiles.
This created a huge problem for Lin Xinghai. Micro Missiles had an auto-lock feature; even at high speed, they could continuously adjust their trajectory to pursue him, making them difficult to dodge.
Of course, being unable to dodge them didn’t an he couldn’t counter them in other ways.
As he ran, Lin Xinghai swept his Mjolnir, detonating the pursuing Micro Missiles one by one in midair.
Due to their small size, the Micro Missiles weren’t exceedingly powerful, at least not relative to a cha. As long as he avoided a direct hit and detonated them prematurely with his weapon, his cha could fully withstand the blast waves.
However, the biggest threat the Morgan Conglorate posed to Lin Xinghai wasn’t the Micro Missiles, but an Earth Ability User in their midst.
When this Earth Ability User activated his Superpower, he could turn a patch of ground into a swamp.
Lin Xinghai absolutely did not dare let his cha step into it. Otherwise, with the cha’s weight of several tons, struggling free would be nearly impossible.
Of course, it took ti for the Earth Ability User to cast his Superpower. Even though it was less than a second, it was still difficult for him to pose a direct threat to Lin Xinghai.
However, he had found a clever workaround. Whichever cha Lin Xinghai tried to attack, the man would cast his swamp Superpower at its feet.
If Lin Xinghai followed through with his attack, both chas would get trapped.
Faced with this tactic, Lin Xinghai dared not continue his attack. The mont he retreated, the opponent would imdiately cancel the Superpower, turning the swamp back into solid ground and allowing the Morgan Conglorate’s cha to easily pull its feet free.
This was essentially the equivalent of the Morgan Conglorate having a powerful Defense Superpower.
Of course, it wasn’t as if Lin Xinghai had no way to deal with this, such as making a sudden turn to feint an attack.
However, doing so drastically reduced his attack efficiency.
Although he managed to damage a few more chas, he was no longer able to secure a single kill.
"We’re pulling back!" Lin Xinghai stalled for another 30 seconds or so. As the Morgan Conglorate’s main pursuit force drew near, he regretfully gave the order to retreat.
He had never expected to be able to annihilate all of the Morgan Conglorate’s chas, but he had hoped to destroy a few more. It was clear now that this was impossible.
’Perhaps if all the chas from the Three Major rcenary Corps had joined the counterattack from the very beginning, we could have kept the rest of their forces here for good.’
’Of course, if we had actually done that, we would have inevitably been caught by the pursuers from the rear, which would have been extrely dangerous.’

Moreover, they were only about 10 kiloters away from Star Shield Shelter, so the pursuers didn’t dare to press on any further.
At this point, the Three Major rcenary Corps were finally and truly out of danger. The rest of their journey back to the Star Shield Shelter was uneventful.

The Star Shield Shelter was the military’s ho turf, giving them an absolute advantage. The only potential problem was the Morgan Conglorate’s personnel, hidden in various locations throughout the Shelter.
However, Elder Wei would never have made a move without being certain of his chances. Over the past few years, he had already identified most of the moles the Morgan Conglorate had planted.
Therefore, when the great battle erupted outside the Shelter, Elder Wei imdiately gave the order for a purge.
At first, the cleanup went rather smoothly. However, as ti passed and more and more of their people lost contact, even the slowest mbers of the Morgan Conglorate realized what was happening and ordered a counterattack.
Then, from the Lower Level District, the Middle Level District, and the Upper Level District, Morgan Conglorate operatives began to erge from all over. They spontaneously gathered into groups and launched attacks on the nearest important institutions and departnts.
The military forces already stationed throughout the Shelter naturally mobilized at once, beginning to exchange fire with the Morgan Conglorate’s ard forces.
"Old Winter, how do you think this war will ultimately turn out?" Gibson asked in a low voice. He stood before his office’s floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the ceaseless artillery fire in the distance.
