With the battle line stabilized, everything fell into place.
The first battalion had plenty of manpower. Every key position in the defensive system was manned by at least one ten-man squad, supplented by several Combat Robots and a dozen or so Attack Drones.
It was an absolutely luxurious lineup. And while these rcenaries might not be good at other things, dealing with Zombies was their specialty. They weren’t much worse than the soldiers, and as long as nothing unexpected happened, there shouldn’t be any problems.
As for Yang Jiansheng, he quickly assigned the personnel Lin Xinghai had allocated to him. Now, every soldier had at least 10 rcenaries assisting them, and the construction of the defensive system was proceeding at lightning speed.
Yang Jiansheng calculated that it might not even take ten minutes to establish the initial defenses. With such ample manpower, even building all the other facilities for the outpost wouldn’t take more than thirty minutes at most.
And that was while under assault from the Zombie tide. Otherwise, the ti could be shortened even further.
anwhile, Liu Miaomiao, after providing initial treatnt to the 13 critically injured, worked with the Military Departnt’s dical team to establish a first-aid center.
With Liu Miaomiao at the helm, anyone who didn’t die instantly could basically have their life saved.
With such a dical system in place, the rcenaries fighting on the front lines could go all out against the Zombies without worrying too much.
Of course, there were still so problems that he had to handle personally...
"Comrade Lin Xinghai, the second wave of Blood-colored Beetles and enraged Zombies is about to attack from the east," an orderly reported, approaching Lin Xinghai.
This was also sothing Yang Jiansheng had deliberately arranged. On one hand, it allowed Lin Xinghai to stay updated on the situation in real-ti. On the other, it served as a reminder.
After all, he had entrusted the safety of the entire outpost to Lin Xinghai. It would be impossible to say he wasn’t worried at all.
However, the rcenary Corps knew nothing about establishing an outpost’s defensive systems, so he could only have his own soldiers do it. That, combined with Lin Xinghai’s prior reputation, was why he had made such a decision.
But even so, Yang Jiansheng was prepared to take over at a mont’s notice. If sothing went wrong on Lin Xinghai’s end, his soldiers could be there to provide reinforcents in 20 seconds at most.
After hearing the orderly’s report, Lin Xinghai nodded calmly. "I know. It will be dealt with shortly."
Seeing Lin Xinghai’s nonchalant attitude, the orderly couldn’t help but add a reminder. "The enraged High Level Zombies are extrely strong. They can even withstand the shockwaves from a Hand Cannon and keep charging forward."
"Mm," Lin Xinghai nodded.
The orderly: "..."
He felt a bit weary. ’Did I not explain it clearly? Or is he really so confident that he’s not even afraid of the enraged Zombies?’
To fend off those enraged Zombies before, they had not only spamd Grenade Cannons like they were free, but had also used several Purgatory Bombs.
His mouth twitched, but in the end, he said nothing more. After giving a military salute, he withdrew.
Soon, Yang Jiansheng received the news. His brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. "Understood. Relay my orders: have the artillery squad pull back and prepare two more Purgatory Bombs to deal with any ergencies."
The orderly hesitated for a mont before speaking. "Isn’t that a bit of a waste? If we coordinated with the rcenary Corps beforehand, we should be able to hold them off with Grenade Cannons."
"I said to prepare them, not necessarily to use them," Yang Jiansheng explained. "Besides, don’t forget how he earned that rit dal. If he says sothing like that, he must have so confidence. We should show him enough trust, but of course, we also need a backup plan."
He normally wouldn’t have needed to say so much. If it were his own command, there would be no need to explain anything to a subordinate, but the current situation was a bit complex. It was better to make so things clear.
"Yes, sir!" the orderly acknowledged and imdiately went to relay the order.
At the sa ti, Lin Xinghai was also issuing orders, quickly gathering the mbers of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps.
When arranging the other rcenary Corps for battle, he hadn’t deployed any mbers of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps. He had even recalled the mbers he had sent out earlier.
You save your best for when it matters most. To deal with those enraged High Level Zombies, only the mbers of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps were capable enough.
The rcenary Corps assembled swiftly and followed Lin Xinghai to the eastern side of the outpost.
The Zombie tide on this eastern defensive line was clearly much more intense than on the other fronts, both in frequency and strength of attacks.
At this mont, the rcenaries stationed on this side all looked a little tense. Mixed in with the distant Zombie tide were so special entities... Zombies that were red all over.
That was the sign of a Zombie entering an enraged state—very conspicuous, and very strange.
But even though they were conspicuous, it was extrely difficult to harm them.
The reason was simple: they were just too fast. So fast that it was difficult to lock onto them with your gun sights.
"You just worry about the Zombies charging the line. These enraged Zombies will be handled by the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps," Lin Xinghai announced, his voice carrying across the battlefield.
Instantly, the rcenaries in this area felt a wave of relief.
The soldiers building fortifications in this area also glanced over at Lin Xinghai from ti to ti.
They had suffered at the hands of these enraged Zombies before. During the last major assault, even with ample preparation, their defensive line had almost been breached.
These soldiers were all eager to see how Lin Xinghai would handle the situation.
Lin Xinghai’s response was simple. He issued a single command: "All mbers, switch to Armor-Piercing Bullets. Fire at will."
The rcenaries who heard this command didn’t think much of it, as they had never fought against enraged Zombies before.
But the nearby soldiers were stunned when they heard it.
’Switch to Armor-Piercing Bullets and fire at will? What the hell is that supposed to an?’
If the enraged High Level Zombies were that easy to deal with, they wouldn’t have had to bring out a superweapon like the Purgatory Bomb.
Not far away, Yang Jiansheng, who had been keeping a close eye on the situation, was also dumbfounded.
He had considered that Lin Xinghai might really have a way to deal with these enraged Zombies, but there was no way it could be this simple!
According to his own guess, Lin Xinghai might have everyone use Hand Cannons to lay down suppressive fire, slowing the enraged Zombies’ charge, and then send in ten or twenty cha to assault them. That way, they might be able to win.
But for the other party to treat it so frivolously, just issuing an order to switch to Armor-Piercing Bullets... He couldn’t just sit back and watch anymore. He had his adjutant take over command and hurried over.
At the sa ti, he ordered over the communication channel for the artillery squad to imdiately lock onto the Zombie tide with a Purgatory Bomb and prepare to fire.
No matter what, they had to withstand this wave first.
Now, he could only pray that the artillery squad would react quickly enough to kill the enraged Zombies before they broke through the defensive line. Otherwise, they would be in big trouble.
