Sure enough, after the initial shock among the court officials, Parker Berger stepped forward with a frown and asked, "May I ask what the king requires one hundred young girls for?"

Eagle Watts looked strangely at Parker Berger, this man who stood at the forefront of the officials but had a pitifully low cultivation level had a righteous aura. He was in the Eternity Realm and extrely intelligent, and could naturally guess that this man was the Pri Minister, a loyal official, and probably a trusted minister of King Gabriel Freeman.

"I need them for my cultivation practice." Eagle Watts didn’t bother to hide anything. Although he was impersonating, he wasn’t afraid of these insignificant officials.

"What?"

Hearing Eagle Watts’ answer, all the civil and military officials were dumbfounded, and Parker Berger was even more incensed, directly exclaiming, "Your Majesty, you once said that the Empire’s laws, once established, must be adhered to by everyone including you, otherwise, the law will beco useless and a re ornant. According to the Longevity Law, Article 8, Section 32, a person is considered an adult at eighteen, whether ntally or physically. Only at eighteen can they marry, and anyone who abducts, seizes, enslaves, or *** minors will be executed imdiately."

"Your Majesty, this law was personally attended and issued by you. So now, does this law still hold?"

"Oh?" Eagle Watts was sowhat stunned. He hadn’t thought this Longevity Empire would have such a law. He knew that managing a country required laws, that rules and regulations were necessary for order, and laws were ant to restrain people, they were a code of behavior.

It seed that King Gabriel Freeman valued his people greatly, which is why he issued such a law.

And at this mont, all the officials were looking at him expectantly. This law was actually forced through by Yusuf Zuck, but the officials were originally against it, because didn’t everyone keep a few concubines at ho?

Eighteen? Honestly, it was a bit old, thirteen or fourteen was actually the pri age. Unfortunately, after this law was issued, the girls kept at ho had all been sent away, and many brothels had also closed down.

Despite their many grievances, King Gabriel Freeman would tolerate no one; when he said to kill, he ant it.

So now they wanted to hear what the king would say. If he said the law didn’t count, they could seize the opportunity to abolish it or at least and the age limit.

"The law naturally stands, but I haven’t abducted, detained, or enslaved anyone, so I haven’t violated the law, right?" Eagle Watts blinked and said.

"Then may I ask how Your Majesty plans to cultivate?" Parker Berger pressed on.

"Do I need to tell you how I cultivate? You, go select a hundred people for , hmph, court is dismissed." The fake King Gabriel Freeman snorted angrily and then strode toward the back palace.

As the others dispersed, Parker Berger, Waylon Gardner, and Francis Harmon hurried to the back palace, as was their habit. Normally, after court, so senior officials would visit the study for a private conversation with His Majesty.

However, when they reached the back palace, they discovered that the king did not return to the study but went to the rear lake of the palace.

The rear lake wasn’t really a sea, just an internal lake at the northeast corner of the palace. Fortunately, the lake surface was large enough, with many lotus flowers growing on it, and plenty of fish in the water.

When Eagle Watts reached the rear lake, he unexpectedly stripped naked and jumped in to swim.

Parker Berger, Waylon Gardner, and Francis Harmon exchanged glances, puzzled over what was happening today. Why was the king behaving so unusually?

It was known that the king had never visited the rear lake before, let alone bathed and caught fish here during the day.

"My beloved ministers, co, accompany your king for a bath." Eagle Watts was new to being king, quite clueless. In fact, his purpose in impersonating Gabriel Freeman was to borrow luck.

All the destiny of the world gathered in the Longevity Empire, so by being king here, he could gather Supre Destiny, break through barriers, and advance his cultivation level.

He had just beco an Immortal, just entering the realm, but he knew well that entering this realm was like a deep sea; he had to grow strong quickly.

And how to beco strong quickly?

By borrowing destiny, borrowing the destiny of King Gabriel Freeman and the Longevity Empire, enhancing his own, thus breaking through.

It must be admitted that this was indeed a good plan.

So he didn’t want to interfere too much in court affairs, nor kill anyone unnecessarily, just let things continue as they used to so that destiny would naturally be bestowed upon him.

He needed those hundred girls, because his cultivation had reached a critical point. A hundred wasn’t too many, nor too few, and he truly didn’t intend to kill; once used, he wouldn’t need any more.

But unexpectedly, he encountered resistance; this King Gabriel Freeman was actually a principled monarch, with relatively strict laws, which was entirely unexpected.

"Since Your Majesty invites, the old minister was just thinking of cleansing himself of filth." Unexpectedly, Parker Berger was the first to agree, and he too stripped naked and jumped into the rear lake.

Francis Harmon, Waylon Gardner, and the others naturally followed, and soon a group of n were swimming in the lake.

"Your Majesty, concerning the matter of the hundred young girls, the old minister will handle it, but you should not have ntioned it in court. This sets a bad example and corrupts the officials. In the future, if you need anything, just let the old minister know in secret. Why make it public for everyone to know?" Parker Berger swam over to Eagle Watts and suggested.

"Hmm, you are right, I did not consider it thoroughly." Eagle Watts nodded.

"Your Majesty, did sothing go wrong with your cultivation?" Parker Berger said with a low laugh.

"Yes, or else why would there be a need for young girls? But I only need a hundred, and won’t require more afterward."

"Good, that’s better." Parker Berger nodded, then as if suddenly rembering sothing, leaned closer to Eagle Watts and whispered, "Your Majesty, a few days ago, Lady Lin Hua agreed. Shall I bring her to you tonight? Her husband has already been conscripted."

"Uh..." Eagle Watts was montarily stunned, unsure of what the minister was talking about, yet couldn’t bring himself to inquire, so he nodded and said, "Alright, you handle it, I trust you, bring her over then."

"Heh heh, understood." Parker Berger chuckled and then said no more.

Seeing Parker Berger silent, Eagle Watts was a bit puzzled. After pondering for a mont, he asked, "Lady Lin Hua’s husband doesn’t suspect anything, does he?"

Eagle Watts was quite clever and surmised that King Gabriel Freeman was hypocritically righteous on the outside, but actually a lecherous scoundrel. Lady Lin Hua had a husband, but King Freeman had taken a fancy to her, and in order to possess this decent woman, he had her husband sent away, ordering a minister to bring her for his pleasure.

So he applied this reasoning and started to inquire further.

"If there are no mishaps, her husband leaves tonight, so... hehe..." Parker Berger laughed.

"Good, also, be cautious with the hundred girls matter." Eagle Watts nodded and then swam away into the distance.

Parker Berger showed no change in deanor, but his heart sank to the bottom.

The king is a fake!
