Sotis, he had to abandon certain ideals and beliefs, pained as it was.
When night fell, the guard returned, reporting completion, then quietly left the study.
His master hadn’t even eaten dinner.
Throughout the afternoon, Parker Berger developed blisters on his lips, as the master strategist couldn’t devise a solution against the impostor king.
Force was futile; confronting would lead to needless death and chaos, possibly collapsing the Empire overnight.
Suddenly, he realized that without Yusuf Zuck, the Empire was dood—he was its sole pillar.
Yusuf Zuck wasn’t rely a king but the cornerstone for all soldiers and ministers; if their leader fell, they would be scattered and quickly divided by rival forces.
"No, no, we can’t act against him." Parker Berger exclaid, knowing that if the impostor king made no grand moves, the Empire remained at peace. Engaging him would result in turmoil and division.
Now, he could only wait for the true king’s return.
"King, what happened to you? Where are you..." He cried inwardly.
anwhile, in the palace, a hundred young maidens were kept underground, while in a courtyard above, Lin Hua-nang stole shy glances at the legendary king, Gabriel Freeman.
Gabriel Freeman had chosen her, so was she brought for a night with the king?
Such fortune seed heaven-sent, leaving the Lin family’s daughter dazed and excited.
"So, you’re Lin Hua-nang?" Eagle Watts, perceptive, sensed sothing off about the pri minister and decided to inquire.
"I am."
"Do you wish to spend a night with ?" Eagle Watts directly asked.
Lin Hua-nang coyly replied, "Your Majesty, you noticed the other day. To be with you is a blessing."
"Ah, I see." Eagle Watts shook his head and walked away.
Though Lin Hua-nang had so charm, she wasn’t to his taste, confirming that Gabriel Freeman likely encountered her outside, feeling lustful, and then had Parker Berger send her to the palace.
The affair was simply a clandestine interaction among the ministers.
Regardless if true or false, Eagle Watts cared not, knowing Parker Berger was perceptive enough to avoid being easily obliterated, rely seeking what he needed.
