Yusuf Zuck dared not move, his heart in his throat, because the opponent had wiped out all thirty-two people, including a master of the Eternal Life Ninth Layer. Any slight movent might provoke a lethal strike from the foe.
Only after the couple had left and vanished did Yusuf settle his nerves, waiting for about half an hour before he suddenly flicked his sleeve, turned around, and directly entered the Door of the Other Shore. In the next second, he appeared in the small tavern, sitting across from Ayden Ac.
"What happened? Why do you look so bad?" Ayden Ac asked in surprise.
"Damn, I saw the snow demon." Yusuf downed a mouthful of liquor fiercely and said, "A male and a female, slaughtering thirty-two people, including a master of the Eternal Life Ninth Layer. Earlier, in this tavern, there were thirty-two hunters, not a single one ca back!"
Ayden Ac gasped: "I told you, the snow demon should not be provoked!"
"Indeed, they should not be provoked, and they are coming back... Oh no, they’ve returned." As Yusuf said this, he winked at Ayden Ac and whispered a reminder: "Keep quiet, keep quiet, pretend you know nothing."
Ayden Ac was utterly astonished.
At this mont, the inn’s curtain was lifted, and the couple, braving the wind and snow, walked into the tavern.
"Huh? Big brother and sister, weren’t you sleeping in the back? Why are you coming back from outside?" Yusuf feigned surprise and asked.
"Hehe, there’s a door in the backyard leading to the back mountain. We went to take a look. But who is this brother?" The man walked over, looking Ayden Ac up and down.
"He’s my brother, arrived a bit later than I did. When you two went to sleep in the backyard, he had just co."
"Hmm?" The man raised his eyebrows.
Yusuf’s heart skipped a beat, for the man had earlier said he saw soone drinking in the room from outside, yet it might have been Ayden Ac’s shadow, not his own.
And there was only one shadow, but Yusuf claid Ayden Ac had arrived long ago, thus arousing the man’s suspicion.
"You an, when we went to the backyard, your friend here arrived?" The woman ca over to ask.
"Yes, yes." Yusuf could only keep up the lie, nodding repeatedly.
"Did you two go out just now?" The woman asked again, glancing at her husband.
"No, but... does going out to pee count?" Yusuf retorted.
"That doesn’t count, alright. You keep drinking." The couple nodded and asked no more questions, perhaps assuming they went out to relieve themselves. It was a coincidence, for if they had entered the mountain as well, they couldn’t have returned faster than the couple.
The couple said nothing more, returning to the back courtyard, leaving Ayden Ac watching Yusuf in surprise, transmitting his voice: "This couple running the tavern is suspicious?"
"Snow demons!" Yusuf transmitted back.
"What?" Upon hearing Yusuf’s words, Ayden Ac’s face turned pale.
"Quickly leave, this place isn’t safe to linger." Ayden Ac transmitted urgently.
"No need to rush, they fear the fire of karma." Yusuf shook his head.
"How do you know?" Ayden Ac asked curiously.
"They said it themselves earlier. When the man was killing, he said besides the fire of karma, there’s no other thod to kill them!"
"Still, be careful, it’s a shady place!" Ayden Ac urged anxiously.
"I actually have so thoughts on the two of them!"
"You want to collect monsters? No way, it’s too dangerous, and such ominous creatures, why would you collect them?"
"You’re right, collecting them is useless. Better avoid the trouble. Let’s drink, and leave when it’s dawn, alright?" Yusuf laughed.
"Alright, the snow demons have transford into humans; what ancient demons could be that terrifying? Don’t get any ideas."
"Understood, understood." Yusuf nodded repeatedly. Two snow demons transford into humans must have incredibly deep attainnt, so even if he had the fire of karma, he feared he couldn’t capture them easily.
...
anwhile, in the back courtyard, the woman was sitting cross-legged while the man stood in the room, looking towards the direction of the hostel’s room.
A mont later, the woman asked: "What did they say?"
"Communicating with Divine Consciousness, they didn’t speak."
"I suggest we kill them all," the woman said coldly, "Better to kill wrongly than let one escape. If we’re exposed, we truly can’t protect that treasure. Damn humans!"
"I fear causing a disturbance and alarming the neighbors," the man sighed, "these hunters are endless. Today we killed thirty-two, tomorrow another forty-two or fifty-two will co. When will it stop?"
"That treasure will reach Mahayana in eighteen days. Just bear with it; you go to the front and start, I’ll keep watch outside. The two of them have low cultivation levels, it’ll be over in a flash."
"Alright." The man nodded, then strode towards the front yard, as the woman’s figure flashed and disappeared imdiately.
Yusuf and Ayden Ac heard the sound of doors opening and closing, so they imdiately beca alert.
It was rely ten seconds, the man walked in from the back door, smiling, holding a bottle of wine.
"Esteed guests, here’s a bottle of family-aged wine, fragrant and strong. Drinking alone in the back is boring, how about the three of us together?"
"Sure, sure." Yusuf laughed heartily: "With wine, we are friends. Co, co." Yusuf chuckled, standing up, closely watching the man, but there was no murderous intent from him.
Yusuf didn’t relax his guard, for he had seen the couple killing before, entering directly into one’s body, absorbing everything in a second, slaughtering instantly.
Thus, how could he dare to be careless?
Ayden Ac was also very tense, silently cursing Yusuf, knowing the other party were snow demons, yet not hurrying to run.
Having read and seen a lot, Ayden Ac knew more about the snow demons than most. The understanding of this species was rely superficial and they were only known through legends.
He also stood up, afraid that the snow demons might suddenly strike.
Alas, the fear turned real; as they were being polite, the man suddenly flashed a gleam in his eye, then in an instant transford into radiance and drilled into Yusuf’s crown.
Indeed, his movent was exceedingly fast, almost before Yusuf and Ayden Ac could react, he had already entered Yusuf’s crown.
It seed Yusuf’s physical body couldn’t stop him, entering as if it was effortless.
He chose Yusuf because his cultivation level was Eternal Life Third Level, while Ayden Ac was at Eternal Life First Level.
To him, roaming inside Yusuf was rely a matter of seconds, and perhaps before the other realized it, he could erge from Yusuf’s body and proceed to absorb the next target.
Ayden Ac scread, instinctively retreating, chanting seals and forming barriers, wrapping himself layer upon layer into a cocoon.
Yusuf, anwhile, was trembling all over. In that instant, his whole body felt icy cold, losing all sensation!
